3 cowboy boots

A CAS card, based on this card (the only difference is the color card stock).  Since I'm in card competition withdrawl, I'm excited to enter this one in Jenny's Wee Memories "Anything Goes" challenge.  Thinking of you ladies from my very long New Zealand road trip.

Materials: Paper Source cowboy boot stamp, Hero Arts clear design sentiment, Studio G pink ink, Versacolor red and blue ink, Stampin Up black ink

new baby

Another submission for Paper Crafts. I made a similar card, click here, and thought that the elegant purple ribbon worked well for the call for entry for a baby card in non-pink/blue colors.

Materials: Waltzingmouse Say It With Style sentiment, Waltzingmouse Very Vintage Label No. 4, Giesle's die cut, Patterned paper from my stash (Tinkering Ink Noir Black), black card stock, Stampin Up oval scallop punch, purple ribbon, Versafine black ink

fall leaves card

I think the Waltzingmouse Stamps Big Blooms leaves are great for fall cards. This card was done at the time I made these two cards, I just rotated the background/foreground stamps. Hope you northern hemisphere folks are enjoying the crunching leaves....  I'll enter this card in this month's Tiffany Doodles theme "fall cards."

Crafty Pit Stop #3

I had ordered some Stampin Up goodies from Keryn before and had been having fun looking at her cards on Facebook.  I decided that if I'm a crafting addict I might as well track down some of my blogging pals while on our road trip, thankfully Keryn was happy to host me for a little crafty fun.

Crafty Pit Stop #2

Being on a road trip without any crafting supplies is a bit difficult for a crafty girl like myself.  I made these two cards when I was staying at Pt Ligar Homestead out at the very, very end of the Marlborough Sounds.  Below is a collage of some of the photos from our stay there.  Many, many thanks to Raewyn for letting me play with her vast supply of goodies.  She decided I needed to learn how to craft with paper napkins, something I'd never done before.  So the background paper on both of these cards is a paua shell napkin.

Materials: I'm sorry to say that I didn't look, Raewyn's stash!

mr & mrs

When my fabulous friend Dana put in an order for some more cards I sent her a link to this card, because in addition to her thank you and birthday cards she should have a few fun wedding cards to help celebrate her upcoming wedding. She liked the card so much she ordered up some more, but due to my limited button stock (Karen I should've taken you up on your offer!), I was only able to make this one.

Materials: Studio G alphabet stamps, buttons, purple twine

fall friend/orange/green

This is a remake of this card, I think I like the other one better, but fun to play around with the same idea.  This month's Tiffany Doodles theme is fall, so I'm going to enter this card in that challenge (hopefully I'll remember to link the card when this posts!).

ABC Toys & Crafts Friend

Karolyn, over at ABC Toys & Crafts Design blog, asked me to be one of their first Creative Friends and I was thrilled to be asked. I've made two cards that feature great products that are available in their shop.

This card uses the fabulous Hero Arts What's Perking set and the fun Hero Arts swirly dot border. I've colored in the coffee mugs with Copic markers and a white gel pen. I've done the steam from the coffee mugs in white ink and inked the swirly border on top of a layer of vellum. I'm such a paper piercing fan that I've paper pierced the mugs, plus the sentiment.

This card uses the Hero Arts Trees of Seasons winter scene. Love how this looks inked in white. I've used the Hero Arts sentiment, while this particular one isn't available on ABC Toys & Crafts, the others from the same series are, click here. I've used Making Memory Eyelets to secure the layer of vellum. And one day I'll get a die cut machine and be able to have some fabulous shaped cards/layers, but in the mean time I'm resourceful and cutting out things with a freehand Fiskars shape cutter.

Thanks so much for checking out my cards, please go visit ABC Toys & Crafts to see their Q&A with me. My husband laughed when I said I described myself as "clean and simple", he replied, "you, clean?" and raised his eyebrows. Okay, I'm a CAS card maker, but I, myself am a bit of a slob, I try, but I'll never be a neat freak.

Materials: First Card: Hero Arts What's Perking coffee cups and sentiment stamps, Hero Arts swirly dot border stamp, Copic Markers (R85 & BV17), white gel pen, Versacolor black ink, Versacolor white ink, yellow and black card stock, vellum, Fiskars rotary scallop cutter

Second Card: Hero Arts tree stamp, Hero Arts sentiment, Stampin Up real red card stock, vellum, black card stock, Making Memories eyelets, Versacolor white ink, Fiskars rotary scallop cutter, Fiskars shape cutter and circle plate

Butterfly card

Another one of those fun cards I made on order. This one uses Karen's fun digital background and one of the PTI Daily Design circles, which I accidentally dropped on the card after I inked the first time and I liked the look so much I "accidentally" dropped it a second time. Love it when mistakes work.

Materials: Rosie's Studio butterfly stamp, PTI Daily Design circle, Karen's dandelion poem, Stampin Up water color pencils, cream and black card stock

Pear Thanks

This week's Wee Memories' Scrappy Saturday Challenge is "Tutti Fruitti."  I was able to raid my girlfriend's stamp collection and find this pear stamp.  Which also works great for this week's Etsy Inspired challenge Two Eggplants.  I've used her Fiskars Shape cutter to give the die cut look to the border of this card, and Giesle's generous gift of the Waltzingmouse Stamps Very Vintage Labels No. 1 die cut label.  Best wishes Jenny for your big wedding day.

Materials: Pear stamp, Waltzingmouse Stamps Very Vintage Labels No. 1, Giesle's die cut, PTI Daily Designs thanks sentiment, brown ink, Versafine black ink, art paper from Vanda's stash, black and cream card stock

keep in touch

I've been doing Kim's Off The Wall Craftiness religiously for awhile, and while I missed last week's in the moving madness, I couldn't resist this week's colors (especially since there's no pink!!!).  Thankfully I was able to piece together this CAS card with the goodies I'd sent to my friend's house for our card date.

Materials: Lawn Fawn Just My Type typewriter and sentiment, PTI kraft, Stampin Up Baja Breeze designer paper, cream card stock, Fiskars free hand shape cutter, Stampin Up black ink

WOYWD and Children's Corner Challenge

I haven't played along with Julia's What's On Your Work Desk Wednesday for ages, but I have always loved the idea that there are other crafty folks out there that thrive in pure chaos.  If you read my earlier post you'll see that we're on a road trip, so this photo was taken at a friend's house, where we had a crafty pit stop.  My boys are on the left and my girlfriend's sons (who she prefers not to name on her blog) are on the right.  The boys made cards for the current Children's Challenge Corner, which is to use at least one piece of patterned paper.

PDC colors Hello

Many of you know that I'm currently on a big road trip around New Zealand in a campervan with my family. If you read this blog, you probably also know that I have a paper addiction problem. I was wondering how I was going to cope going on a trip where the space is so limited that I didn't get to bring along any crafting supplies. Want to know one of my solutions? Mail envelopes of craft goodies to pit stops along the way. Today's crafting pit stop was my dear friend Vanda's house in Dunedin. Her youngest son is a card enthusiast, so he's been waiting, very impatiently for me to arrive, eyeing the bag of goodies and waiting for our card date. I've done the Play Date Cafe color challenges for months now and I figured since there's an hour to spare on this week's deadline that I'd squeeze in a card. Once again, I love the way the color challenge has made me use colors I wouldn't think of putting together, and I even like the final product!
