Graduation cards

I've made three graduation cards and the funny thing is that I don't know anyone graduating!  (Edited to say since I wrote this up I've sold one of these cards and received a graduation announcement from my husband's cousin's son, so these cards were well timed after all!).  These cards are for this week's CAS-ual Fridays "Graduation" theme.  I used the Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge as a jumping off point.

And this last card was partially inspired by Amber's card, b/c I thought "wait, I do have that impression plate" and then I was Etsy surfing for the Wee Memories Etsy Inspired/Pineterest challenge and spent some time drooling over some fabulous letterpress cards and ended on this one and decided to use the technique from my last post and ink up the impression plate.

Text Inspired Card set

My train of thought started with the new Embellish challenge to use text challenge, since I have been trying to make some book themed cards for a friend who sells children's books and she really liked this one from the other day, so I took a few color challenges and made a set, something I rarely do.  Emily made this card the other week and I'd been wanting to try her idea of inking the impression plate.  So I inked up the PTI Bookprint plate, embossed it and then die cut it out with Mat Stack 3 die.  Here's a closer look at the individual cards.

This one uses the Embellish colors.

This one uses the Color Cue colors.

This one uses the ColourQ colors.

This one uses the Play Date Cafe colors and since I thought it was fairly somber, I added a sympathy sentiment for this week's PTI Make It Monday challenge.

Materials: PTI All Booked Up image, PTI Mat Stack 3 die, PTI Mat Stack 4 sentiment frame, PTI Mat Stack 2 sentiments, PTI Book Print impression plate, Versafine black ink, Tim Holtz Distress Antique Linen ink, Water color pencils, Core'dinations Sugar and Spice card stock, PTI kraft card stock

just a note

I admit it, I'm a bit of a junkie...  I did an earlier card for Friends with Flair and after successfully finding the top of my craft desk I decided to make another card for the hop... this week's Moxie Fab World Tuesday Trigger was my source of inspiration.  I've used a new Unity sentiment, so I'll squeeze in another entry for the All Things Unity challenge.  Guess I'll go pay attention to the little people now :)

Materials: Unity Life is Fabulous KOTM bird, Unity Picture Perfect KOTM sentiment, Core'dinations Sugar and Spice card stock, white card stock from Ben Franklin, Spellbinders Label 1, sharpie marker, Versafine black ink, Tim Holtz Distress ink fired brick

Best Wishes on your New Home

Welcome to my second Friends With Flair post... I cannot tell you how excited I was to have won the random commenter prize from last week's hop-- and not only that my new stamps already arrived and I can't believe the package came with 24 different Unity stamps, wow.  I've got the PTI On My Couch and On My Couch Additions sets, and let's just say they've gotten a lot of use (click hereherehere or here), so when I got a Unity couch I knew that it would fit right into my stamp collection.

This card uses the current Play Date Cafe colors.

This card uses the current Color Cue colors.

These cards work perfectly for the current All Things Unity Challenge, to use Unity stamps that haven't been used before, and I hadn't used any of these stamps before.

Materials: First card: Unity Picture Perfect KOTM couch, Unity Life is Fabulous KOTM sentiments, Cosmo Cricket Circa 1934 paper, Stampin Up Kiwi Bliss card stock, Versafine black ink, Tim Holtz Distress Antique Linen ink, white card stock from Ben Franklin

Second card: Unity Picture Perfect KOTM couch, Unity Life is Fabulous KOTM sentiments, Hero Arts Classic Fabric cling, My Mind's Eye Love Me Do paper, Tim Holtz Distress Antique Linen and Worn Lipstick, Versafine black ink, PTI kraft card stock

My Apologies and a bonus reject

I think an "oops I forgot your birthday" card is always a good one to have floating around.  This one went a little dot happy, so I added a layer of vellum to tone it down a notch.  I've used this week's Waltzingmouse Sketch and ColourQ colors.  And since I've just done a math lesson with my son I can tell you that I know the sketch has 12 round circles and my card only has 9, but who's counting?

And since the above card uses the ColourQ colors I thought I'd share the card that wasn't selected for the recent Paper Crafts 365 cards, but uses the other week's ColourQ colors.  Amber is hosting another Reject Blog Hop and I couldn't help join in the fun.

PTI Blog Hop

This month's PTI Blog Hop is all about flowers.  I was inspired by the Hero Arts month challenge to use colored pencils on the PTI All Booked Up flower image.   Thanks for looking!  Can't wait to hop through some of the other fabulous cards.  And since I'm sorta a card challenge junkie, I had to find another challenge to go with this card, so I'm picking Jenny's Wee Memories "Stamp it" challenge.

just a note and where is beth?

Yvonne's Do More With Less challenge is make a newly vintage project and I got to thinking about what the Play Date Cafe colors were saying to me (go on a trip, but don't forget your luggage tags or something like that).  I used Tiffany's sketch, she wants to know what your crafty goals are....and I think goal is to continue doing what I love, making cards... I always appreciate the comments and the praise, but my goal is to just keep on playing with paper and stamps.

Where is Beth?  The capital is Yerevan, the resting spot of Noah's Ark, which is on Mt. Ararat is out her window, it will cost 600 dram to buy a cup of coffee.  Congrats Beth on your one year in the mystery country, I know you've got global ambitions and will be ticking off a few more international locales, don't worry I've got my google maps handy.  I've added a tiny bit of bling for this week's CAS-ual Fridays "Bring the Bling" challenge.   And used the Play Date Cafe colors again.  And the country of Beth's location is printed right here on the card!

7th birthday and some photos of my craft room

This card is for my niece, who's birthday was yesterday, oops, guess it's going to be late since I made it this afternoon.  I used the same Lily Pad "Lucy Love Lines" sketch that I did on the last card, but added this week's fabulous CR84FN colors and added a tiny bit of bling for the CAS-ual Friday "Bring the Bling" challenge, my rhinestones aren't that shiny and the glitter doesn't really sparkle in this photo, so sorry ladies, it's as much bling as I'll probably get...

So I went to a paper buffet at my local Ben Franklin yesterday and came home with these goodies,
24 sheets of patterned paper for a mere $4.00 (and then I used my gift card that I'd bought for 20% off), so a serious steal.  But then I realized that I have a lot of fabulous paper (most of it fairly dated, but who's keeping track?) and figured perhaps I should organize it a bit better... so I dumped it all out on the floor in the living room at some ridiculously early hour this morning.

And then I put them away in my new craft room.   And then my mother surprised me with the very cool piece of art that she then hung on my wall, it's made out of tile!  She picked up at the garden tour she was on this afternoon.  Fabulous.

Materials: PTI By The Numbers die, PTI Big Birthday Wishes, Hero Arts Write Your Own, PTI kraft card stock, Core'dinations Sugar & Spice purple card stock, Recollections adhesive rhinestones, white gel pen, Martha Stewart Onyx glitter, Fiskars corner rounder, Versafine black ink, purple color pencil

Fabulous is who are you

My mojo got lost in the shuffle of moving from one house to another, but with a tiny bit of time left on this week's CR84FN I've put together this little card.  I've used the Lily Pad Cards "Lucy Love Lines" sketch (sorta, I changed the shape a bit), and then I used some fun Cosmo Cricket Early Riser paper to help with the Unity Challenge "Tooty Fuity" and the sentiment is one I hadn't inked up yet for the All Things Unity Challenge.  And I'm going to join in on my first Unity Friends With Flair blog hop.

Materials: Unity Life Is Fabulous Sentiment, Unity Dots for Sure, Cosmo Cricket Early Riser patterned paper, Core'dinations Sugar & Spice card stock, vellum, cream cardstock, Spellbinders Nestabilities Label 8, Martha Stewart onyz glitter, Cuttlebug Just My Type faux stitching embossing folder, Recollections adhesive rhinestones, Tim Holtz Distress ink Antique Linen, Versafine black ink

Waltzingmouse Tea Party

Happy 2nd birthday Waltzingmouse Stamps.  Claire is hosting a tea party for the birthday celebrations and invited anyone to come along and play.  I've used the free tea bag template.  I was blown away by some of the other entrants, definitely go and check out some of the other fabulous other paper creations.  I humbly accept that I have some room to grow on my tea bag creations, but I would do so in style if I won the WMS prize.

Materials: K and Co Chelsea Dots on Aqua patterned paper, Waltzingmouse Stamps Very Vintage Label 4, Cosmo Cricket Early Riser patterned paper, PTI Warm Happiness die, Vellum, Cuttlebug Just My Type faux embossing folder, yellow string, Tim Holtz Distressing ink Antique Linen, Versacolor Bamboo ink

Hoping you're fully recovered soon

 The inside of the card.

One of my gym buddies broke her leg vaccuming- how awful can that be? So our workout group has decided to send her a card, and I sold them on my services.  I had been trying to come up with a use for this week's Play Date Cafe colors, and ladies there are a few random pieces of other attempts sitting in my scraps drawer, but decided to stick to my CAS style and limit the color.  And while I was doing CAS I thought I'd retry this week's CAS-ual Fridays "buttons and twine".  So I've gone for the button throw pillow with Twinery lilliac twine accent.  Lawnscaping Challenge is polka dots and yes, I know I'm missing a Lawn Fawn stamp on this card, but who can resist a polka dot couch?  Lily Pad Cards is having an embossing challenge this month and I love the texture the swiss dots adds to this card.

This was attempt one for the card for the girlfriend, I recycled one of these cards (which I'd sold to my grandma and then she sent to me!) and added a new sentiment.  But since Tiffany Doodles and ABC Design Blog are celebrating flowers this month, I'll add this card to those challenges.  I think I'll send the card back to my grandma.
