Moxie Fab World color challenge cards

I didn't plan to make more cards for the Moxie Fab World color challenge, but the DH was too busy putting together my new craft desk to sit down and watch a movie, so I kept playing with paper... so below are three more fun creations with the various color combinations.

Materials: 1st card: PTI On My Couch chair stamp and accessories, Studio G pink ink, Stampin Up black ink, art paper scraps, Spellbinders Nestabilites Label 4

2nd card: Practicing Creativity Look Up hot air balloon, Gina K Designs label, Spellbinders Nestabilites Label 8, Studio G orange ink, pink copic marker, Versafine black ink, black card stock

3rd card: Lawn Fawn Just My Type telephone, Hero Arts digital friendship, Cosmo Cricket Early Riser patterned paper, teal card stock scraps, purple copic marker, vellum, Spellbinders Nestabilites Label 1

play date splash of purple

This week's Play Date Cafe colors are black, white and a splash of purple.  I went with the small accent of lilic twinery twine.  It's hard to see in this photo but I used the PTI Book Print Impressions plate on the white piece of cardstock.  I love how it gives the card just a tiny bit more texture.

Materials: PTI All Booked Up image, PTI Book Print Impressions plate, PTI Mat Stack 4 die, Tinkering Ink patterned paper, EK Success 1 3/4th inch circle punch, Lilac Twinery twine, white and black card stock

Lawnscaping Challenge

Lawnscaping has a fun challenge at the moment to case one of Kelly Marie's cards.  I went a flicking through her flickr account and really liked this one, so I made the first card.  Then I looked at it and realized that I hadn't used any Lawn Fawn stamps, oops.  So I set out to make another card with some of the pieces, but sorta strayed away from Kelly Marie's card.  Shall we just call it a creative process?  So I went digging for another card and found this one.  I was also motivated by Karen's post on trying out the Do More With Less stamp on patterned paper challenge.  I wasn't that bold, so I just added some splashes to the polka dot paper.

Materials: First Card: My Mind's Eye Love Me Do patterned paper, Paper Crafts freebie sentiment, Spellbinders Nestabilities Label 8, Twinery Mandarin twine, versa color red ink, Studio G orange ink, yellow color pencil,

Second Card: My Mind's Eye Love Me Do patterned papers, Spellbinders Nestabilites Label 1, Lawn Fawn Swimsuit Season

Skipping Stones Sketch

I found a package of My Mind's Eye Love Me Do on sale at the local craft shop and was inspired by Amy's card to use lots of cool patterned paper and the Skipping Stones sketch. After playing with the paper for awhile I realized why it was on sale- it's got marks through it... but I think we'll just pretend it's adding texture?  I haven't made a card without any stamping on it in a long time.  I think it's a bit busy for my normal taste, but fun to try something different once in awhile.

Etsy Inspired thank you for you

I saw this flower pendant on Nanny's Room on this week's Etsy Inspired challenge and I thought of the Martha Stewart flowers I won from Kim.  Jenny's celebrating "Free Your Creativity" over at Wee Memories and I thought trying a stamped background would be something new and fun.  Especially when I turned it into a frame with my new Spellbinders Label 8.  I would've liked to stay truer to the colors in the pendant (because I have this literal problem), but I decided to add a blue background and focus on red and kraft (from the background).  And on a random positive note, my mom stopped by work today while I was trying to find a decent place to photograph this card and said that I can have a workspace in her house!  If you've read in some of my other posts I haven't unpacked anything, because I have no where to put it in our little 2 bedroom house.  So, yeah... for my future crafting space.

January PTI Blog Hop

PTI's Blog Hop this month is to dust off some long forgotten PTI stamps and ink them up.  I feel like all of my stamps are covered in dust from moving half way around the globe (New Zealand to California) and then being stuck in a box in my children's closet.  One of these days I will have a craft space again and I promise that I will give them all my crafty goodies a well loved, dust free home.  So I went digging through the boxes and pulled out the All Booked Up set, which I love and can hardly believe that it's been almost 5 months since I last used these stamps, see the August Blog Hop post here.  I have also used this week's Play Date Cafe colors, grey, green and orange, because I loved being pushed out my comfort zone to try new colors.

Materials: Card: Tim Holtz ornamental die, grey card stock from stash, Stampin Up Kiwi Bliss card stock, PTI Book Print impression plate, PTI All Booked Up sentiment, Studio G orange ink, The Twinery Mandarin twine, Fiskars 2 inch circle punch, EK success 1 3/4th inch circle punch, white & orange card stock from scraps

OTWC bicycle card

My dear friend Debbie did the cycling portion of a half ironman a couple of weeks ago and I said I'd send her a cool bicycle card to congratulate her for all her hard training and finishing the event.  But life sorta got in the way, so I sent her an IOU before the event and now I promise to send her this card.  Better late then never right?  I've used this week's Off the Wall Craftiness colors for my CAS bicycle card.

Materials: Practicing Creativity The Whole Cycle bicycle stamp, Spellbinders Nestabilities Labels 8, recycled orange envelope from Vanda, Three Bugs in a Rug Chalf Garden patterned paper coordinating color paper, Studio G orange ink, white gel pen, black sharpie, Stampin Up black ink

friend to friend, thank you for you

I must admit that my first response to the Off the Wall Craftiness colors was not overjoy.  But then I sat down with a few different pieces and was pleasantly surprised.  I've used the PTI Fillable Frames #5 and Fillable Frames #11 for the sentiment.  There's still a little bit more time in the Wee Memories ribbon challenge this week, so I thought I'd throw in another set.

for you, celebrate

I'm slowly getting into the grove of things over here, I'm not sure what I was thinking moving countries, starting work, settling children into school and the holidays all in the same month.  So I am excited to be able to revisit some of my favorite card challenges.  I am still working on my photographing, but I'll get there.  I've got two cards here today.  The one of the bottom was the first attempt at this week's Play Date Cafe colors.  Congrats to the new DT!  After I finished that one I still had the pieces floating around so I thought I'd try another take on the same colors, but use ribbon for the Wee Memories Scrappy Saturday Challenge.

friend

This week's Play Date Cafe colors are green grass, gold and silver and when I saw this scrap of art paper in my collection I thought it was perfect.  Plus I got to play with some more new Spellbinders dies...  The gold string is recycled from a recent gift.  I'm still working on the best place to photograph and today I've brought my card with me to work...

Etsy inspired bookmark

This week's Etsy Inspired Challenge has a great little shop called La Pomme.  I was inspired by Savannah's card.  While I don't have any musical background craft supplies, I had been playing with my new PTI Book Print Impressions plate and loved the idea of an embossed letters background.  Jenny and the gang at Wee Memories are playing with Twine this week, so let's add this bookmark to their challenge too.  Mark's Finest Papers is celebrating embossing this week, hope you guys like my bookmark, sorry it's not a card.

I have been watching some videos on You Tube to try to figure out how to use my Big Shot and my 5 year old son decided that he wanted to make a video of my project.  He has this camera so the quality is pretty poor.  But I love that he wanted to take part in my project.

be my valentine

Hello ladies... I'm so excited be back in the blogging land... hip hip horary for my first card challenge of 2011.  I am still lacking a crafting space and while I have unpacked a few more goodies and opened a few new goodies, I'm still in major need of a dedicated craft space and a home for all my stash.  So I feel like I'm limping along and keep thinking of things I need that are conveniently located at the bottom of a box deep in a closet.  But, back to this card.  I was inspired by Karen's lovely card to take part in Mandy's Limelight Papercrafts Sketch challenge with ribbon.  I've got a few more Valentine's Day cards to make, so thanks for the inspiration to get moving on the cards, despite my disorganized craft supplies.

Materials: PTI Kraft card stock, patterned paper from my stash, Tim Holtz Ornamental die, PTI Fillable Frames #11 sentiment, Spellbinders Nestabilities Label 8, pink ribbon from my stash, heart stamp from my collection (sorry, I can't find the original, found stamp in my binder of scraps), Fiskars rotary cutter with deckle blade, Studio G pink ink, black ink

Tricycle Card

Happy 2011!  Many, many thanks to my blogging pals who have stopped by for a comment or two while I was on my extended blogging break.  Our family had a fabulous time driving around New Zealand in our campervan.  I missed my crafting goodies, but was surprised that I was able to live without them.  And since we've landed back in the US of A we've been so busy that I haven't had a chance to unpack anything.  (There's a reason this card has no black ink, can't seem to find that box).  But my new Spellbinder dies finally arrived today and I couldn't wait any longer to give them a try.  I have not mastered my Big Shot yet, but I have had a lot of fun watching tutorials on youtube.  Wishing all of you a fabulous New Year.

Materials: Practicing Creativity The Whole Cycle Tricycle, Spellbinders Nestabilities Label Eight, The Twinery Lemondrop twine, Tim Holtz Retro Circles Texture Fades, Studio G orange ink, orange and kraft card stock from small child's craft supplies
