Rush to Sender birthday wishes

Today is the last day to enter the Core'dinations color challenge and I was inspired by the Moxie Fab World horizontal sketch.  Being the CAS girl that I am I went for the splash of color, as I was inspired by all the white in the photo.  Since I've used several PTI goodies on this card I'm going to enter it in A Passion For Papertrey "Anything Goes" challenge.

Materials: PTI Postmarked, PTI Think Big Favorites #7, Core'dinations card stock, Stampin Up square scallop punch, PTI Postmark die, Versafine black ink

Congrats square butterfly card

My little sister got engaged, grin.  Truth be known she's not a girly-girl, so I probably should make her some other card, but I was inspired by the Moxie Fab World square challenge and this week's Play Date Cafe colors, especially the butterfly in the top right corner and the photo mating.  I don't usually put sentiments on the inside, but I thought the PTI Happy Trails sentiment was perfect... and I couldn't fit it on the front :)  Since I colored in the Unity butterfly with water color pencils I'll enter this in the Young Crafters Unite new challenge, since I won a Simon Says Stamp gift certificate from them for a comment last week and I'm happy to report I've already spent it.  Woo hoo!

Materials: Unity Life is Fabulous butterfly, Waltzingmouse Stamps Frame It sentiment, PTI Happy Trails swirl and sentiment, PTI Guide Lines Grid Impression plate, Spellbinders Nestabilities Label 1, cream card stock, water color paper, Core'dinations card stock, Tim Holtz Distress Ink Tumbled Glass, water color pencils, Versafine black ink, Fiskars corner rounder

Happy Birthday

Since I love the blogging community I know you guys will understand when I say that I sat down to find inspiration for a card that I have make today (and have a limited window of time to do so before work, soccer practice and household needs) that I got sucked into blogland and found inspiration for a card that had nothing to do with the one I was suppose to make?  Please tell me this happens to you all the time too?  So with a click, click and a click I was inspired by the Moxie Fab World Tuesday Trigger, the Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge and the new Young Crafters Unite challenges.  (Edited to say I just re-read the challenge rules for Young Crafters and realized I have exceeded their multi-challenge rules, oops, but can't figure out how to un-list a card from a challenge, so please forgive me for skipping over the rules).  And since I reached for a few PTI goodies it works for the A Passion for Papertrey "Anything Goes" challenge.  Wow, all that before I've even had breakfast?

one layer birthday cards

I needed some more birthday cards for a card order and I decided to try out a CAS one layer card (for my fabulous friends at Lawnscaping) with a few different colors.  I was loosely inspired by the Skipping Stones sketch (I scored an extra line around the yellow cake, but it's hard to see).  I used the Play Date Cafe and CR84FN colors on two of the cakes and randomly colored the other cakes.  Wouldn't it be fun to be able to make a cake this beautiful?  I took the boys to the county fair the other week and we thought the disgusting cake exhibition was a lot of fun, click here to see some of those photos.

Super Sunday Sketchy Paper Smooches scooter card

Welcome to another 365 Cards Super Sunday Sketch challenge.  When looking for inspiration for this challenge I decided to play along with the Paper Smooches August Sparks challenge, which is to make a card inspired from the photo below using at least one Paper Smooches stamp.  Since I embossed the woodgrain and the clouds I thought I'd enter this in the CAS-ual Friday "Embossing" challenge too.  Please check out the DT on 365 Cards to see what everyone else has come up, can't wait to how the sketch inspires you.  And just for fun I'm adding this to the Paper Issues: "Let's Ride!" challenge.

Friends of Waltzingmouse Blog Hop

This month's Friends of Waltzingmouse Stamps Blog Hop is all about Coffee/Tea, one of my favorite themes.  While I don't have the fabulous WMS Afternoon Tea set I've made a very CAS card with PTI Warm Happiness Too.  I love how my set of mugs look like they're about to fall over :)  I've thrown in the current CR84FN colors and the Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge, just to add a few challenges to the hop.  If you'd like to see who else is hoping along please click here to visit the WMS forum for a complete list.  I must say that I probably still like the card I made earlier this month better, click here to see another WMS inspired coffee card, maybe the card needs a little bling?

smile

I find one layer cards challenging, so I thought I'd throw my hat in a couple of challenges this week, Less Is More and Lawnscaping are both doing on layer cards.  Less Is More wants you to use ink in a new or favorite way and I've used distress inks and a water color pen to color in the dragonflies, which I think is a great way to get a subtle use of color.  I've used the sketch from Skipping Stones.  Check out their fabulous Blogs 4 Boobies blog hop.  And then I got inspired after I made this one and made a second one with Lawn Fawn stamps.

Materials: PTI Happy Trails dragonflies and sentiment, Tim Holtz Distress inks (Aged Maghony, Tumbled Glass, Weathered Wood), Versamark, Versafine black ink, Fiskars corner rounder punch, PTI kraft card stock

Lawn Fawn Swim Suit season, Waltzingmouse Stamps Frame It, Tim Holtz Distress inks fired brick and worn lipstick and antique linen, Versafine black ink, Recollections black rhinestones

Thursday's cards

I'd been scratching my head looking for inspiration for this week's Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge and then all of the sudden I realized that this colored image (which had been floating around my desk for the last week waiting for cause) was perfect.  I added the WMS Frame It sentiment as a way of saying thanks to Stephanie for her fabulous blog candy I won a couple of weeks ago.

This week's Play Date Cafe colors inspired me to pull out my PTI On My Couch set (plus Cristina's fabulous card put couches on my brain).  Many thanks to a fabulous blogging pal for the Bella Blvd papers.  That's it for today, there's still time to play along with 365 Cards Super Sketchy Sunday....

purple celebration

Karen and Lynn are taking part on in a fun Carbon Copy challenge, and I decided to crash the Jay Gee's Nook purple party!  I don't have the PTI Stamp-a-Faire set they used, so I decided to CASE Nichole's Make it Monday card with the PTI Happy Trails set.  Since my copic collection is limited to a total of two different colors, I decided to just change up the color of some fabulous May Arts ribbon and colored the whole piece.

Materials: PTI Happy Trails sentiment and die, Mint Motif cloud stamp, PTI impression plate, Stampin Up square scallop punch, May Arts ribbon, Core'dinations purple card stock, PTI kraft card stock, Versafine black ink, Brillance Moonshine ink,  Copic BV17

The current Flashback Friday is to repost your first gift card holder and I made this little one last August when WMS was having a template challenge.  Thanks Lynn for the motivator to post this... I was going to take a blogging day off as I've been making lots of cards lately and really should get a few more things done... but, oh well, there's always tomorrow right?

Happy Birthday Amy

Happy, happy birthday to Ms. Amy, I wanted to make a bright, bold birthday card full of fabulous patterned paper (a la Amy), but in the end I was inspired by my own card and decided to go CAS and change up the colors on the two cards I made.  The first card uses this week's Play Date Cafe colors and the second card uses this week's CR84FN colors.  Don't forget to stop by and wish Amy a fabulous birthday.

Materials: Paper Source paper, Waltzingmouse Stamps Say It Loud Sentiment, PTI Mat Stack 2 sentiment, Tim Holtz ornamental die, water color pencils, cream and black card stock, Versafine black ink
