When Marie and Britta put out a blog hop for Young Crafters Unite my thought was that my son Ben (the young crafter in our household) would love to participate, he is seriously a card comment junkie, "Did I get any more comments? Did I win?" The blog hop is about a favorite thing, and while I love all the goodies I've used in my card (seriously think water color pencils are fabulous for an rookie coloring girl like myself), my favorite thing is really sharing my crafting love with my son. Since it's Mr. Ben's 6th birthday on Saturday I made him a simple card with a colorful Unity cake. He'd probably rather have a Ben 10 ultimate alien cupcake card, but oh well, don't have any of those stamps. And since my birthday is next week (come visit my blog, there's a party in the works!) he made me a card. I love that the bat punch got a hat and a smily face (guessing, he didn't want to miss out on the dinosaur's birthday party fun? I'm going to also join in the Unity Friends With Flair fun, because I keep winning, seriously I've received 50 free Unity stamps in the last month, including this fun cake. And since I love color challenges, I've chosen this week's Play Date Cafe colors for my inspiration.
You should've arrived from Jan's blog, if you get lost along the way, check back with the Young Crafters Unite blog. Since you'll make a little guy grin ear to ear with every comment mentioning his card, I highly encourage you to leave some love here, but there are prizes in this blog hop for random commenters, who can turn down a Simon Says gift certificate, a Lawn Fawn set or a Paper Smooches set? Not me! Next step is Pryia's blog.
Materials: Unity birthday cake, Unity sentiment, PTI impression plate, Spellbinders Nestabilities Label 8, water color pencils, Fiskars corner rounder
