tag happy

I heart coffee… really, do I need to explain myself at all?   Inspired by the latest CASE Study challenge and my new May Arts brown silk (seriously friends, I have such a ribbon addiction problem).

And another tag for the Tag You're It Challenge, on this one I used white embossing paste and then distress ink, love the texture it gave the tag.

you are special to me and tag

Two projects to share on this fine Saturday.  I've been working hard and playing hard this week and funny, the week has raced by w/o any more crafty fun...  (But all sorts of other fun, including waterskiing on Lake Tahoe, a Children's Festival, a play, a float down a local river, a coffee date with a friend and some other not-so-much fun work related what nots, but we wont talk about those).  Anyhoo, back to the crafty fun, the top card combines the CAS(E) this sketch and this week's PTI Make It Monday challenge.  Instead of adding on top of the medallion I cut out the heart with one of the PTI tags and added vellum to the back, love the simplicity of the card.

And up next a tag for the new Tag You're It Challenge and Moxie Fab World word die challenge.  I used a large Hero Arts background stamp and embossed it with white and then added the distress inks.  I used a bit of perfect pearls on top of the card, die cut the Simon Says flower out of vellum and Day word die out of white paper and added a piece of black twine.  I'm thinking I might use this tag on a gift I've got for my sister's non-baby shower party (it's a day of pampering vs. a traditional baby shower).

thank you cards

A quick card for the latest PTI Make It Monday challenge.  Love that Dawn has reminded me to pull out my Mat Stack sets (I've used three different ones on this card).  And below I've used some more PTI goodies to make another thank you card with the CAS(E) this Sketch.  Happy Monday, as always, I really need to stop procrastinating in the craft room and get to work.

decorated coffee bag

Can you see my train of thought?  Paper Smooches SPARKS challenge stripe jars….Can you smell the cup of coffee next to me on my messy craft desk? I will admit that I used the decorated coffee bag again (click here for the first go around), but I tried the notebook die on a card base and it just wasn't working…  I've used the Paper Smooches Hot Concoctions take out coffee mug on this project, plus Hero Arts Stamp Your Story brushstrokes and circles, plus PTI notebook and tag dies and a piece of May Arts burlap string.  The hexagons are with embossing paste and a splatter of white mist.  Happy Sunday friends…  I've been MIA on my card blog this week (b/c yes not posting for 4 days= MIA in my world) because I've been working, backpacking and enjoying a fabulous art walk in town….

make a wish city scene

Make a wish city scene... so there's (another) new challenge and this one is called The Cutting Edge Challenge, and I love finding inspiration from Lynn's blog (so since she posted a card this morning I decided to play along-- plus I found the PTI skyscrapers she'd sent me and this challenge used fun watercolors, so I thought that'd be perfect since I don't actually have the stamps that go with these die cuts.  In addition to a bit of sparkling water colors I spritzed the buildings with Tattered Angles mist and then added them to the Simon Says star background die.  My Paper Smooches sentiment on vellum, so I can play along with the Paper Smooches SPARKS Anything Goes challenge (once again, thanks Lynn!).  Can I just tell you that I am not a city girl?  Check out this fabulous photo I took this morning of the little town I call home.

get well soon pillowbox

Happy Monday!  I'm playing along with the PTI Make it Monday challenge and this week is partial die cuts, so I used the butterfly inspiration to make a pretty gift tag and decorated pillow box.  I've used a scrap from my fabulous friends at Full Circle Press, PTI tag, butterfly and double sided banner die, plus a WPlus9 sentiment, Studio Calico wood heart and 3 May Arts ribbon (burlap, burlap string and silk).  I've upcycled the pillow box from my friends at Caroline's Coffee…  Right-o, off to work I go.

oh happy day and more….

Oh, happy day!  I made a shaker card for the Simon Says Wednesday Challenge…  (This is the part where I confess that yesterday was my birthday and I made this card thinking of myself, grin).  Now, if only I can motivate to send it to one of the many fabulous people I love who celebrate birthday love with me in July (the list is far too long).

Next up a tag, super excited about the new Tag you're It challenge, and the first guest designer is the fabulous Virginia, so I had to play along.  I started off stamping the PTI tag with the In Bloom flowers (really need to use that set more often) and then b/c I couldn't fit the PTI wet paint die vertically I wanted to add another layer to the tag and since I have a (cough cough) messy desk, there are often scraps sitting at arm's reach for inspiration, so I used a tag I'd cut from one of the many letterpress wedding invites and added a whole layer of glitter watercolor and added a doily (b/c we don't actually need to read the directions to the wedding from 2013, right?).  And I added some May Arts silk and some vellum to the tag and presto.  Will have to put this tag on a card base and use it for one of the many birthday goodies I got…..

And the top card I wanted to have the background of the shaker card white, so I die cut the patterned paper and presto, had the pieces for a second card.  I'm using inspiration from Jen's Muse Club, you can see the inspiration, right?  Round… happy….  drinks on the beach?    Hope everyone had a great 4th of July weekend…

thanks, simply the best

Two cards, both inspired by the latest CAS(E) this sketch, one using the banners and the other using the flowers idea.  My second card uses some long neglected Unity stamps so I'm going to play along with Friends with Flair. Hope everyone had a great Fourth of July, I went to an outdoor concert last night and a parade today.

thanks runway inspired style

The new Runway Inspired Challenge seemed like a good source of inspiration for a needed thank you card, I used Wplus9 florals, PTI wet paint die, sequins and May Arts velvet ribbon.  Hope everyone is having a good 4th of July week, I escaped the laundry room for a speedy overnight camp out and a overnight birthday slumber party for a crew of boys.  Wishing everyone a safe and fun 4th of July.
