thanks coffee tag

Happy Monday morning.  My day did not start off on the right foot and when I sat down to see if I could play along with the PTI Make It Monday Challenge I hit a road block as I couldn't find a stamp I thought would work for the diamond wallpaper challenge.  So I threw the towel in, made breakfast, got ready for work, received my friend who works from home and had a power outage and then I solved the stamp problem--- I used the letter X from the Headline Alphabet set, added a dot from Rosie Posie, a coffee mug from Warm Happiness and a sentiment from Tiny Tags.  I'm completely over the moon with the new colors of May Arts silk ribbon.  I addition I used a doily from work (with a bit of distress ink) and cut a recycled take out coffee holder with the PTI double sided banner die and colored my coffee cup with watercolor pencils.  And since I missed my 7am crafty speed race window, I'm posting this from work and accepting that I still made the first 10 crafters (I know, call me crazy).  And here's to hoping the rest of the day goes fabulously.....

so grateful tag card

CASE Study Challenge inspiration, I've used PTI sentiment and tag die, Hero Arts butterfly dies, May Arts chevron twill, sheer with ruffle ribbon and burlap string, embossing paste, watercolors, black and red embossing powder and a corner rounder.  I also misted the black card stock with white and gold, so it has a bit of a sparkle to it in the right light.  I love that challenges make me think outside my normal box, better go find the white pen so I can actually write on the inside.  Happy Sunday crafty peeps, back to work I go, but if you follow my Instagram account you'll see I have lots of fun on my days off.

just for you wine tag

TGIF crafty peeps!  It's time for another PTI blog hop, seriously every month I'm blown away by the talent... and the reminder of how to use some of the fabulous PTI goodies I already own.  My inspiration started with the doily and red flowers at the bottom of the inspiration photo by Mandy Lynne.  I started off with some green paper that I die cut with the PTI tag and added a layer of vellum over it and heat embossed the PTI In Bloom flower and a Mat Stack sentiment.  I wanted to incorporate some green, so I added a Building Block of green behind the sentiment (it's a bit hard to see, but)...  And tied a piece of luxurious May Arts silk to the tag.  I used a Top Dog Dies for the doily and made my own wine tag using PTI kraft card stock (dry embossed with a woodgrain folder).  I love using burlap to decorate my wine bottles (click here to see my Pinterest board with other projects), but I was just given a spool of May Arts 2 1/2 inch Cotton blend and I love the rustic feel to the ribbon, so I layed three strips of the ribbon around the bottle to complete my "look" (can you tell I've been watching Project Runway?).

And I had one of those moments this morning where I thought, "I can make a hop project, photograph it, schedule it and get to the gym on time" that was not based in reality.  So, for those of you who wonder why I didn't try to race against the clock for one of the first top 10 hop projects, I took a card from the book of acceptance, and walked out the door with an unfinished hop project and got a great workout.  Summer is my busiest time of year at work and I am trying to cut myself a tiny bit of slack in my regular game of let's do it all.  I have unrealistic expectations of what I can on a daily basis, so three cheers for a fun project that didn't have to be finished by 5:59am.

Happy Birthday Owl card

Good morning… playing along with the new Muse Club challenge, Marion's owl card inspired me to dig deep into my stash for the owl stamp I knew was hiding somewhere..  In addition to the long neglected stamp I've added some blue handmade Thai paper, my older son was looking for fabric in my stash (I suggested the felt on the shelf and he used some of the Thai paper for his teddy bear's quilt), so since he recently used the long hoarded paper (I got a large collection of it over a decade ago on a visit to the factory in Thailand), I figured, why not dust some of it off too and put it to work on a card?  I've added a Wplus9 sentiment and three different May Arts ribbon tabs.

tag happy

I heart coffee… really, do I need to explain myself at all?   Inspired by the latest CASE Study challenge and my new May Arts brown silk (seriously friends, I have such a ribbon addiction problem).

And another tag for the Tag You're It Challenge, on this one I used white embossing paste and then distress ink, love the texture it gave the tag.

you are special to me and tag

Two projects to share on this fine Saturday.  I've been working hard and playing hard this week and funny, the week has raced by w/o any more crafty fun...  (But all sorts of other fun, including waterskiing on Lake Tahoe, a Children's Festival, a play, a float down a local river, a coffee date with a friend and some other not-so-much fun work related what nots, but we wont talk about those).  Anyhoo, back to the crafty fun, the top card combines the CAS(E) this sketch and this week's PTI Make It Monday challenge.  Instead of adding on top of the medallion I cut out the heart with one of the PTI tags and added vellum to the back, love the simplicity of the card.

And up next a tag for the new Tag You're It Challenge and Moxie Fab World word die challenge.  I used a large Hero Arts background stamp and embossed it with white and then added the distress inks.  I used a bit of perfect pearls on top of the card, die cut the Simon Says flower out of vellum and Day word die out of white paper and added a piece of black twine.  I'm thinking I might use this tag on a gift I've got for my sister's non-baby shower party (it's a day of pampering vs. a traditional baby shower).

thank you cards

A quick card for the latest PTI Make It Monday challenge.  Love that Dawn has reminded me to pull out my Mat Stack sets (I've used three different ones on this card).  And below I've used some more PTI goodies to make another thank you card with the CAS(E) this Sketch.  Happy Monday, as always, I really need to stop procrastinating in the craft room and get to work.

decorated coffee bag

Can you see my train of thought?  Paper Smooches SPARKS challenge stripe jars….Can you smell the cup of coffee next to me on my messy craft desk? I will admit that I used the decorated coffee bag again (click here for the first go around), but I tried the notebook die on a card base and it just wasn't working…  I've used the Paper Smooches Hot Concoctions take out coffee mug on this project, plus Hero Arts Stamp Your Story brushstrokes and circles, plus PTI notebook and tag dies and a piece of May Arts burlap string.  The hexagons are with embossing paste and a splatter of white mist.  Happy Sunday friends…  I've been MIA on my card blog this week (b/c yes not posting for 4 days= MIA in my world) because I've been working, backpacking and enjoying a fabulous art walk in town….

make a wish city scene

Make a wish city scene... so there's (another) new challenge and this one is called The Cutting Edge Challenge, and I love finding inspiration from Lynn's blog (so since she posted a card this morning I decided to play along-- plus I found the PTI skyscrapers she'd sent me and this challenge used fun watercolors, so I thought that'd be perfect since I don't actually have the stamps that go with these die cuts.  In addition to a bit of sparkling water colors I spritzed the buildings with Tattered Angles mist and then added them to the Simon Says star background die.  My Paper Smooches sentiment on vellum, so I can play along with the Paper Smooches SPARKS Anything Goes challenge (once again, thanks Lynn!).  Can I just tell you that I am not a city girl?  Check out this fabulous photo I took this morning of the little town I call home.
