So I'm thinking anyone who follows this blog isn't really going to be surprised that I ordered the PTI letterpress kit.... I need to play some more, this card was a 10 minute window before walking out the door to go sking for 2 days. The paper is amazing, I'm thinking I might use it for my other letterpress goodies.... so while I'm not in love with this card, I'm in love with the possibilities of more crafty goodies, now all I need is some time in my craft room. For this card I used some May Arts ribbon, plus some gold embossing powder and the PTI goodies.

Hello crafty friends... last night I taught a wine tag class at the local shop The Artist Workshop, you know how much I love wine tags.... so it was fun to get a group of gals together and teach them a few ideas. Thanks Kathy for the photos above, always fun to have someone along who takes as many photos as I do normally. Below are a few snapshots I got (although I was a bit busy most of the time to think about taking any photos). And of course we drank wine while making wine tags!

Congrats... playing along with this week's PTI Make it Monday challenge. My sister just sent me a wedding video she made for some close friends of hers, so I'm going to send this card to them. And I had a love fest up on my work blog last week, if anyone wants to see what it looks like to get married in my neck of the woods. Happy Monday friends, I'm crossing my fingers today is better then yesterday (click here). I've used a nice variety of stamps on this one layer card: PTI sentiment, flowers and a lone leaf, WMS leaves, Paper Smooches hexagon and Unity faux washi tape. I also used a variety of inks (Hero Arts chalk ink, Versafine black, PTI hybrid plus PTI linen, dark chocolate and harvest gold and then added distress ink around the edges.)

Friends... normally I like to play along with the PTI Make It Monday when it goes live (b/c I'm silly and have somehow think that's the best use of my time on Monday mornings). This past week I tried to play along and didn't like what I made, so I opted out- which was noticed (thanks Jen). So I've been thinking, "Oh I'll play along with PTI and Wplus9 when I get a chance before their deadlines" and then have had one of those days (let's just say the tree that fell on the line, that led to a down power line and blown transformer started my day at 5am and when the power went back on at 3:30pm I still had that many loads of laundry to do at work, and then the power went off again at 7:20... but 9pm, we're back on, hopefully my guests are happy, I've drank the wine I deserved and.... I'm going to make the PTI deadline). I used the tutorial pinned by my friend ~amy~ which used mists and water color papers for this wine glass tag. I tied the PTI tag onto the wine glass with May Arts sheer with tinsel edge ribbon. And now my friends, my day is official done.... tomorrow will be better, right? And how exciting that Virginia has a new challenge, this one works perfectly for Virginia's View Challenge #1, watercoloring.

I have decided the online world is a fascinating place... so I started my greeting card facebook page just over 4 years ago, with a little push from from my friend Cathy. I started the blog about 5 months after I started the FB page and have been humming right along (I dip my toe into Pinterest and Twitter from time to time), but mainly I just play along with my self-inflicted challenge happy agenda and my virtual cheerleaders. I do sell my cards, have done a number of custom orders for friends, friends of friends, the local shop down the street, card making classes, etc... but over the last few years I've got a few orders from complete strangers (which I always find fascinating, b/c I don't do anything to advertise, don't have a legit shop set up and always wonder how people find me in the first place and trust me with no online store front). So... to get to the point, today's project was a custom card order from Malta. Never been to Malta, had to look it up on the map, to be honest, and I love that I can say that my card creations are going global, so thanks Valentina for trusting that I could re-create something that you had in mind, and let's cross our fingers the postal people get it to you in one piece.

I was inspired by this week's CASE Study, because I have that frame and I realized I've never inked it up... what are we going to do with me? So while searching for that stamp, I found another mini PTI set and used that one (which has also been neglected). So I've used WMS flowers and PTI sentiment and wrapped the card with May Arts burlap cord. And two, not really related crafy side notes-- I mailed off a custom card order to Malta this afternoon (will share project later this week) and I received my box of goodies from winning the Paper Crafts Stamp It contest (holy toledo, what a box full of goodies!!!).

Good morning, it's PTI hop time, and I totally forgot to make something, till I saw my friend ~amy~'s fabulous coffee creation... so unlike me. I also love that my friend Jen sent me a text yesterday asking how come I hadn't already played along with Make It Monday, love that someone notices I didn't make it happen within the first hour of the challenge going up! Anyhoo, so my last minute creation over here is a another tag (what are we going to do with me and my tag obsession?). One layer tags are harder then they look... I've used a sentiment from Mailbox Greetings, one of those PTI sets that went into the "vault," I figured that was a good enough excuse to dust it off and ink it up. The vases and flowers are from Gracious Vases, Modern Mats woodgrain and I've tied the Peaceful Valley organic seed packets up with May Arts ribbon and a doily. So if I gift these seed packets to someone locally, will they bring their bounty to the Outside Inn's free veggie cart?

Today's card provided a great opportunity to share with my friend Sheila, a fellow local art blogger, Watching the Paint Dry. She's been a blogging mission while making some health and fitness lifestyle changes. Originally she said no guest bloggers who weren't on a weight loss goal, but I snuck in after all :) Click here to read my blurb. I had one of those days yesterday that reminded me again of how you just have to put everything in perspective. My card uses the Hero Arts background with mists and the PTI Building Blocks sentiment and dies. I love the grungy feel to this card, perfect for Sheila's style of art. You go girlfriend, we all have to struggle sometimes, it's good for the soul and it definitely fuels the creative process.

Friend... one more project to play along with the Wplus9 Birthday "Trends" challenge, b/c really, what's a party without a bottle of wine? I've used stripes and misting on this project, in addition to Wplus9 dies and sentiment. I've die cut the cork paper with a PTI tag and tied the tag with May Arts ribbon and string and wrapped the whole bottle in a 4 inch piece of May Arts burlap. Anyone want to join me next week for my wine bottle tag class?

I love making tags... and I'm sad to admit that I don't usually have a use for the tags, just like making them, sometimes I feel like they're faster then a card... who knows. Anyhoo, today's Retro Sketches inspired today's tag... I came home from 3 days of skiing to my box of PTI goodies, so I've put to use the new scribbles and building block die and sentiment, with some May Arts ribbon (I dyed the silk to match the PTI ink).
