So I'm teaching another class at my local Ben Franklin next month, Wednesday May 6th, 6-7:30pm and I wanted to play with stencils, as I'm in awe of all the amazing options I keep seeing around blogworld. So I've used some stencils, embosing paste and embossing powder and played. The first card also works for this week's PTI Make It Monday (die cuts with heat embossing, love the way the hello looks with gold embossing powder). I'm also going to add these cards to Virgina's View Challenge. If you're interested in taking the class please call Ben Franklin, 530) 273-1348 and sign up.

Happy Monday. The latest PTI Make it Monday is about 2 step stamping and embossing, and I'm going to admit that I think I got the point, but if I'm totally off on my project, then I accept that I was in a hurry while watching the video. I heat embossed the coffee cup and then used the PTI Modern Mats and stamped over the cup, so it's hard to see, but it's got a nice woodgrain layer on top of it, then die cut out the cup and added it to my cork tag. ~amy~ was playing with gold and cork the other day, so thanks for that inspiration. I've used May Arts silk and burlap ribbons, DCWV burlap paper and PTI Warm Happiness Too, Modern Mats, chevron die, Tag it Sale die, PTI kraft card stock and PTI gold foil. And for those of you who missed the shout out to my work giveaway, today's the last day to win a beautiful pair of earrings and a t-shirts, I'll happily mail the prize.

A simple tag to get my crafty mojo back in order after a few days off… I've used the current Fusion Challenge as my inspiration. The tag uses WMS and PTI stamps, plus PTI tag, May Arts chevron ribbon and some PTI inks. I don't know why I go to tags when I'm looking for something quick and easy… it's not like I'm actually using any of the tags, chuckle chuckle. I've got a fun Pinterest board of other tags I've made, click here.

You are SIMPLY the best… playing along with the CAS(E) this sketch at the very last minute. I've got all these amazing pieces of recycled letterpress card stock, so I thought I'd try the technique of the distress inks/water/stamping and then I put the whole piece through the die cut with the PTI letterpress plate, the texture on the paper is fabulous. My card uses a Unity sentiment, Hero Arts chevron background stamp, plus circles from the Stamp Your Story sets. I kinda like how the card is a bit messier then my normal CAS cards. And now that I can see what I can do with a recycled save the date card, how am I going to part with the box? (My mother gave me one of those looks when I showed her how many of them I had… but really, they were going to go to the recycling bin, so what's a crafty girl to do?).

We all know I love making wine bottle tags... today's card was motivated by a box of recycled letterpress pieces from Full Circle Press, I used part of a wedding invitation for the tag and then stamped the Paper Smooches chair on the blank side of the heavy cardstock. I added some embossing paste to the tag, using the PTI coverplate as a stencil (super excited about Virgina's View new Stencil challenge, so many options). And Paper Smooches is having an anything goes challenge this week. It's hard to tell, but take my word that I used 6 different May Arts ribbon on this project (two colors of faux canvas, burlap string, 4 inch burlap, 3 inch sheer and burlap stripe ribbon).

One of the reasons I love all these fabulous card blogs and card challenges is that they jump start my creative process… even when I'm half asleep and drinking coffee. Today's card came from Lynn's card for the One-Layer Challenge "Road Trip". I've used a Paper Smooches sentiment, so it'll work for their "anything goes" challenge this week too. The caravan is my friend Lindsay's RubberMoon stamp. I find one layer cards hard… maybe it's because they all seem too flat after years of adding many layers to my generally simple cards? Or is that you can't hide your mistakes? Time to hit the road…. happy Tuesday!

The new PTI Make It Monday challenge is about making cards that look like quilts, so I took the opportunity to make a congrats card for a friend that recently had a baby boy. I used Basic Grey Bowties patterned paper, PTI sentiment, May Arts ribbon tabs and used the video tips of using a PTI cover plate as an impression plate. And like every Monday, I really need to get out the door instead of making cards (seems to be a reoccurring problem over here). For those of you who don't follow me along, I say this every Monday! I've got a great giveaway on my work blog-- and the question is all about balancing life/art/nutrition, happy to mail the prize if you win, love to hear your two cents.

So I've got 2 congrats cards today, both use the PTI Make It Monday challenge of using gelatos and water. The top card uses the scribes stamps and the card below uses the PTI Gracious Vases set. The card below is based on the latest CASE Study challenge (I channeled Debby Hughes in the card). I finally got white embossing paste… and I'm loving all the videos and tips from bloggers lately, so many great ideas. I used the PTI cover plate as a stencil and then added the embossing paste. I tried to add a little bit of Mr. Huey mist and it didn't quite work out the way I expected, so I mixed it all together with a dry baby wipe, added some sequins, a doily and 3 different May Arts ribbon (sheer tinsel, velvet and silk). Simon Says Monday Challenge is having an anything goes challenge, so I'll add these cards to that challenge. The sentiment is Waltzing Mouse stamps. Happy Sunday everyone, I'm off to work.

Did you know I'm actually terrible at sending birthday cards? Sigh. Anyhoo, today's card was prompted by the arrival of some goodies from Simon Says Stamps, so I thought how perfect to put them to use and play along with their birthday challenge. I used the WPlus9 More Fresh Cuts stamps, Simon Says Stamp hexagon die as a stencil and then white embossing paste and glitter embossing powder, added a piece of May Arts chevron ribbon and die cut the pieces (Spellbinders and Lil Inker Designs). I can barely move after skiing the last two days.

Happy Tuesday friends, I started my day with snow flurries (click here to see a photo of downtown Nevada City). But before I ventured outside I played along with the Runway Inspired Challenge (and yes it has taken me nearly 8 hours to actually getting around to posting the card I made this morning in the dark). I, obviously, was captivated by the black speech bubble with the blue love in the dress. I love that this card is a little messy. I used the PTI speech bubble die, WPplus9 love die, Hero Arts newsprint stamp, Distress Inks, Perfect Pearls and Lil Inker stitched frame die). I've got this really awesome giveaway on my work blog (and I'll mail the prize if you win), click here for the details.
