heart/snowflake wood tag

Welcome back to another round of Tag You're It Challenge, the new challenge has the talented Debbie Hughes as the guest designer.  I found some birch paper in my stash (while looking for something else), added some embossing texture paste, a May Arts snowflake, a Lil Inker heart die (which I cut out once with some foam and then again with felt), added some sequins, stamped some Wplus9 defining words on the bottom and added two colors of May Arts silk to the tag.  Maybe it'll snow for Valentine's Day??   Here's to hoping...  Love to see how the tag inspires you, come play along.

coffee card

Happy Wednesday.  I decided to channel a bit of my friend Lynn, who has a gift of patterned paper and also rightful pointed out that the reason she likes posting on her card blog regularily is that she enjoys sharing.  Guess what friend, I get it.  Making a card and sharing isn't something I need to do, but I enjoy it, so hello coffee card-- and a virtual shout out to Lynn.  My card uses the My Favorite Things sketch, I've used a MFT sentiment, plus a Reverse Confetti coffee cup, PTI tag dies, May Arts ribbon, vellum and an assortment of patterned paper.  Right-o... I'm on a mission over here at work, get things done kind of day.

assorted cards

Happy Tuesday friends.  I recently mailed off a card order to a loyal customer, so fun to be given creative freedom with a few directions (birthday card for 10th birthday girl, dinosaur Valentine's Day and a mom birthday card).  Hope she likes them!

Monday projects

Happy Monday my friends.  This week's PTI Make It Monday is to make a confetti garland and I have a true confusion, I decided to re-do another recent project.  The bonus of when you make things just to make things, somehow it's okay to take them apart and redo them?  Anyhoo... today's tag uses the garland idea, it's a bit tricky to find the right string/twine/ribbon to go through sequins, so after a few failed efforts I used some paper twine I had in my stash, it's a bit stiff, but worked really well with the sequins (which you can barely see, but I promise they're there.  I added several PTI die cuts (tiny tags and tremendous tags, plus a button and some red and pink sequins).  And my second project has a garland feel to it too.  I CASEd yesterday's card and made a baby card, also inspired by the current CAS(E) this sketch challenge.  As always I'm starting my Monday off running...  It is truly amazing what I can accomplish before 9:15am some days.  Now back to work, I've got a fun blog post about the Tibetan monks in our community and the amazing sand mandala they're creating, be up on my work blog shortly.

{be my valentine}

{be my valentine}.  Playing along with this month's PTI blog hop, all about hearts.  I used the PTI Tremendous Tags heart die with some pattered paper and then I added some clear rock candy distress stickler to the paper (so it's got some texture and some sparkle), some May Arts burlap string, distress ink, PTI sentiment and dry embossed some stitching.  I'm using the CAS(E) this sketch as my inspiration for the layout.  Love all the white.  Hope everyone is having a nice weekend, I posted a fun little photo of our vintage car out for a spin yesterday on my Instagram account, click here.  Can't wait to see Valentine's Day love for the hop...

love card

Love card...  so normally I don't neglect my card blog, it's my "me" time and I often spent 15-30 minutes in the early hours creating and crafting, well for some reason in the last week all of that time has been spent on projects that got sent to the cutting room floor (literally this card got chopped and then chopped again).  I also took part in the amazing Wild & Scenic Film Festival event, click here for some photos.  Anyhoo... time to get some creative projects off the floor (and some of you know that I literally use the floor as an extension of my work space) and off into the real world.  I've got a card order to fill and a Valentine's Day card class to prep for... time to get creative!  Oh yeah, this card is inspired by the Card Concept Challenge.

you warm my heart tag

Today's tag (which will probably be turned into a card) was inspired by CASEing Debby's beautiful card she posted this morning.  I also wanted to play along with Darnell's NBUS challenge (I had never used this PTI sentiment before- which is funny b/c I have the same sentiment on a different stamp set and have used it-- no, that is not an opportunity to tell me I have too many stamps).  I used the WPlus9 defining words for the small Lawn Fawn tag die, some water colors on my MFT tag die, PTI heart die, a piece of May Arts burlap string, a mini clothes pin and a Studio Calico wood heart.  Happy Satruday, this is one step closer to being slightly more organized for my Feb crafty gathering, the goal is to not do everything the night before like this month.

Tag you're It Congrats tag

Hello, so excited to be joining the Tag You're It Challenge design team.  My first project is inspired by this month's guest Heather Campbell.  Come join us, we'd love to see how you're inspired.

Just a reminder that your tag creations should clearly be inspired by the Challenge Inspiration. If it is not visibly clear by looking at your tag, an explanation of how you were inspired in your blog post would be very helpful to the team when we are viewing your fabulous tags.

warm wishes coffee tag

warm wishes my friends...  I made this tag while procrastinating from putting away the laundry.  I used a PTI coffee cup and a Lawn Fawn sentiment, a Hero Arts circle, the center of a 0 for the saucer, a scrap of patterned paper, some washi tape, you can't really see the water color splatters... and 2 May Arts ribbons.  Yet another tag that has no real purpose other then to provide me a little creative time.  Thanks for those of you who asked about my blogging meet up, it was a lot of fun, click here for a few photos.  ~amy~ convinced me the other week to play along with the Cuttin and Stampin Challenge "coffee" theme and there's still a little time left in that challenge.  Right-o, back to work I go...

hi tag

hi tag snowflake.  This week's PTI Make it Monday is to make your own foam stickers and I have to admit that I sorted cheated.  I die cut out the letters with the PTI alphabet die, but I used a piece of glitter foam paper...  and then added some adhesive to the back.  It's hard to tell with this photo, but I used a nice thick piece of vellum for the tag and added a doily to the back (it has a fun added texture) and then added the WMS snowflake die, a Studio Calico heart, some glitter tape and a piece of May Arts ribbon to the tag.  I'm also going to enter it in Virginia's View Clean Slate challenge, white on white.  I hope everyone had a good weekend, I got to sneak away, click here for some fun campground research we did in Santa Barbara.  And I'm excited because I'm hosting a blogging meet up tonight, can't wait to meet other locals who are as passionate about blogging as I am.
