hello there birthday boy

So I'm not sure what I think of this card, my starting train of thought was the Muse Challenge (obviously I went for the elephants)...  I'm going to enter it in the Paper Crafts Idol challenge... (b/c I know I'll think about it on the eve of the deadline and not have time to play along).  We don't have to love every card right?

couch cards and a gardening giveaway

hoping you're fully "Re-covered" soon!  I love this PTI On My Couch and On My Couch Additions set...  and thanks to my fabulous blogging pal Jen, who sent me this card with some goodies for a project I needed ASAP, I decided to CASE her card.  And, so not to disappoint Jen in my challenge happy ways, I'm going to enter this in the Moxie Fab World "Damask and Brocade Challenge" and the Paper Crafts Gallery Idol auditions.

And after I'd made this card I decided to alter the agenda a tad and play along with Jay Gee Nook's challenge and I made a white embossed damask background, I went for the white couch in the upper right of the photo.  The goodies that Jen sent me are part of a giveaway I'm having on my work blog.  Anyone a gardener????  I'll probably share the homemade cards later in the week, but in the mean time click here to see the amazing gardening goodies I'm giving away, leave a comment to win on the Inn's blog, will ship goodies (but not the tomato plant, sorry).

And because Mr. Ben is so amazing with his cards, here's the one he made for my mom, I just love how he added the WMS Half Pint Hero head to the Practicing Creativity bike...  She liked the card.

Congratulations

These two cards are a redo of this card I made last week because my sister asked for a wedding card for our cousin who's getting married tomorrow.  With the Congratulations sentiment I'll throw my luck in to the Paper Crafts Idol challenge and this month's Hero Arts theme.

But even more exciting then the cards is the fact that this morning I got the real treat of meeting two blogging pals in real life!  Lisa and Michele took time out of their busy lives to come browse the Highlands Ranch Archivers with me, and it was like we'd known each other for years.  I'm always so appreciate of the positive interactions I get from my blogging pals, but it was an extra special treat to final meet some of them face to face.  And I love that we all "know" the same people!

just sittin here

I really liked this week's colors on ColourQ and for whatever reason I never got around to making a card, till now. So I opted for my tried and true super CAS style and made a little card with my favorite PTI couch set. I'm going to add this to the Paper Crafts Facebook blog hop, just for fun.

Hello

I love this Lawn Fawn set, so cute and I think it looks great on kraft too. I went digging through my bag of random mix of art paper scraps and think these papers are fun. I've used the Simons Says Stamp sketch and am entering it in Jenny's Wee Memories "stamp" challenge (because she's also giving away a Simon Says Stamp gift certificate, double my odds of winning?). And there's just a tiny bit left of time left in the Paper Crafts style inspired challenge (with a typewriter for one of the photos).

Typewriter Card

Paper Crafts is having a style inspired challenge, click here for some of the great photos. This card is kinda cheating b/c I've just taken a card and recycled it. But I think I'll send it back to the girlfriend who sent it to me and that'll make her day. I know that she buys cards that she likes, so why not regift it in a slightly different layout? Many thanks to the lovely ladies at Paper Crafts for a fun challenge, I'm also super excited because I won a copy of their new issue from commenting on their blog, woo hoo! I'm also going to enter this card in Kah-Wink-E-Dink's challenge to make a funny card. Do you think my children will know what a typewriter is when they grow up?

Love ya latte

Jenny over at Wee Memories is having a "get sticky" challenge, to use anything with stickers. I enjoyed digging through my collection of stickers (which I never use for cards) and making this card. I used the Paper Crafts sketch.

Sending warm thoughts your way

I saw this Paper Crafts sketch awhile ago and loved the simplicity of it. I made another card with the sketch in mind for my sister. I thought the vellum was a nice touch to tone down the busy Cosmo Cricket papers (which I love). This card is for the Paper Crafts contest and the Papertrey Pals contest that challenged me to cut some of my beautiful patterned paper and Sentimental Sundays.
