ABC Toys & Crafts Friend

Karolyn, over at ABC Toys & Crafts Design blog, asked me to be one of their first Creative Friends and I was thrilled to be asked. I've made two cards that feature great products that are available in their shop.

This card uses the fabulous Hero Arts What's Perking set and the fun Hero Arts swirly dot border. I've colored in the coffee mugs with Copic markers and a white gel pen. I've done the steam from the coffee mugs in white ink and inked the swirly border on top of a layer of vellum. I'm such a paper piercing fan that I've paper pierced the mugs, plus the sentiment.

This card uses the Hero Arts Trees of Seasons winter scene. Love how this looks inked in white. I've used the Hero Arts sentiment, while this particular one isn't available on ABC Toys & Crafts, the others from the same series are, click here. I've used Making Memory Eyelets to secure the layer of vellum. And one day I'll get a die cut machine and be able to have some fabulous shaped cards/layers, but in the mean time I'm resourceful and cutting out things with a freehand Fiskars shape cutter.

Thanks so much for checking out my cards, please go visit ABC Toys & Crafts to see their Q&A with me. My husband laughed when I said I described myself as "clean and simple", he replied, "you, clean?" and raised his eyebrows. Okay, I'm a CAS card maker, but I, myself am a bit of a slob, I try, but I'll never be a neat freak.

Materials: First Card: Hero Arts What's Perking coffee cups and sentiment stamps, Hero Arts swirly dot border stamp, Copic Markers (R85 & BV17), white gel pen, Versacolor black ink, Versacolor white ink, yellow and black card stock, vellum, Fiskars rotary scallop cutter

Second Card: Hero Arts tree stamp, Hero Arts sentiment, Stampin Up real red card stock, vellum, black card stock, Making Memories eyelets, Versacolor white ink, Fiskars rotary scallop cutter, Fiskars shape cutter and circle plate

Too funny-about the conversation you and your husband had! Love the paper piecing, adds so much dimension to the card.
