I am a crafter who loves a good challenge and often has very small windows in which to create, so the 10 minute craft dash is right up my alley (especially since I often don't put things away, so there's always something within arms reach).  The above card took my 7 minutes exactly to create.  (See below for the first attempt at the challenge, which took me 17 minutes to make, so therefore I had all the pieces cut out and just sitting there!).

And I'm going to a wine tasting event today (click here for last year's event, or just check back on my work blog later tonight for today's photos), so I thought I'd make a wine tag.  I added a pinterest board of many of my past wine tags and I'm in awe of how much activity it's getting, I've been shying away from Pinterest for my crafty hat, but the wine tags might tip me on over to the dark side.

Happy Birthday card and tag

Happy Saturday friends...  I wanted to play along with the fabulous 10 Minute Craft Dash, so this morning in my pre-coffee state I tried to make a card using the technique Dawn talks about here, but then I cropped the card and totally misaligned the paper cutter chopping it off in a non-useable way.  So I left the chopped card went to the gym, the Farmers Market and then came home and had some coffee.

Take 2 of the same card (so I'm not sure if that's considered cheating) took me 8 minutes and 46 seconds (and that includes my mother walking in and talking to me while crafting).  I love that she asks who the card is for and I'm often answering, "No one, it's for a challenge" and she doesn't get it.  Moxie Fab World is having a Birthday Card Challenge, so this works for that one too.

But then I thought about how I should play along with the Moxie Fab World Birthday challenges before the deadline and I took that "ruined" card and turned it into a tag... so my tag-centric week on my blog continues :)  This tag also works for the CAS on Sunday "Tag It" challenge and this week's PTI Make It Monday "random background" challenge.

10 minute craft dash tag

We all have 10 minutes right?  I'm actually a fairly speedy crafter, probably why I'm drawn to making cards, because I can make something I'm happy with in in 10-15-20 minutes... So tonight I decided to play along with the 10 Minute Craft Dash (who's sponsored by WPlus9, so I pulled out some stamps and dies by them).  Truly-- the hardest part of the challenge was picking the May Arts ribbon (click here for my ribbon storage, which has grown since this photo was taken).  Moxie Fab World is having a tag challenge, so here's my entry #3 for that challenge.  And the tag took me 8 minutes 57 seconds.

Have you played along with the 10 minute craft dash before?  The latest challenge is sponsored by May Arts, so I'm playing along with a few of the MA Ribbonistas.  You could win a sample pack of yummy ribbon.  The latest challenge colors are so totally perfect for me-- kraft, chocolate and light green.  I seriously love the crochet velvet ribbon, combined with a recycled piece of packaging material, Hero Arts tweed background and PTI Warm Happiness Too, my card was done in 9 minutes and 20 seconds!  And if you blow up the phone you can see visual proof that I do a fair bit of my crafting in the early hours of the day (finished my card at 6:02am).  There's a reason I make so many coffee cards!

Hello blog friends!  Today's card is for 365 Cards, we've got another ad inspired challenge for you.  Being that I own a motel there are lots of bedding catalogs, this is from the current Company Store catalog.  I also wanted to play along with the Craft Dash girls, so this works perfectly for their color challenge.  The card took me exactly 6 minutes to make.  And below... some fun b&w photos from the wedding we went to on Saturday, that my sister dancing away with her husband, and me with mine in the other two photos, grin.

Fabric Die Cut cards and wine label

A quick post... I wanted to play along with the PTI Make It Monday Challenge "Fabric die cuts", click here for the video, so I went to Ben Franklin (where I'm teaching a class starting next month!) and purchased a 73 cent scrap of fabric from the left overs bin.  Two simple cards, done in no time at all, actually well under the 10 minute Craft Dash challenge time frame.

And then... me, being me...  I couldn't stop at 2 cards, so I made a wine label.  (Partly because yesterday I said I would because I had food and coffee projects, and I needed to round out my favorite themes).  Love the way the fabric work on this one, and I've embossed the kraft layer with the woodgrain folder to give it even more texture.  I like the way the flower brings your attention to the sentiment, so I'm going to add this to the Moxie Fab World "Focal Point" challenge.

Birthday Cheer

Happy Monday!  Today I've got a couple projects to share, first up my card for 365 Cards.  The card recipe is:

Glitter (or something glittery)

Sentiment (anything goes)

So what does a clean and simple girl like me to with all these options?  Aim for lots of white and sneak 'em in!  But love that I've got a festive birthday card out of the recipe.  I'd love to see how that recipe inspires you-- can you get that much white into your card?  Next up... since I had out the Pebbles patterned paper set and my desk isn't exactly clean (scroll down for proof), while waiting for the 5 minutes we had before heading to a potluck dinner I threw together this wine label.  

I should've timed that project (it was fast) because this morning after Mr. Ben decided the first card was too girly to give to my DH for his birthday I thought I'll try the Craft Dash and see if I could come up with something.  So I made the card below, recycling a father's day card I'd given my husband before, adding some May Arts burlap ribbon and natural string, a Paper Smooches sentiment and done... in 10 minutes and 30 seconds.

And since Dana posted a photo of her workspace for her 10 minute dash I thought I'd take a photo of my creative chaos space-- and then a superhero came racing through the middle of my photo- can anyone guess who he's dressed up as?
