A quick post (as I'm heading out the door to the airport in 10), sharing the card I made for the WPlus9 Throwback challenge... and then I used it in last night's card class. Are you going to send homemade Valentine's Day cards?

Mom tag card
I love my Wplus9 goodies and I love getting motivated to dust off some of my older sets (since I don't currently have any of their newer sets), so the Throwback Thursday challenge was fun for me. I used Maureen's card as my inspiration and used 2 different Wplus9 stamp sets. I watercolored the PTI tag and added a little bit of May Arts ribbon. I think I may leave thie card somewhere easy for my boys to find it and maybe re-gift it to me?

sending hugs
Sending hugs... so this card served two purposes... a in-real-life card for a custom card order and a virtual card to someone in need of a hug. I think I should just accept that I send virtual cards more often then I send actual cards, is that bad for a girl who loves paper and ribbons? So Wplus9 has started a sketch challenge... I am such a sucker for challenges, but many of you already knew that. I loved Dawn's former Mood Boards... so I'm on board to play with a sketch challenge. I decided it was time to dust off some oldie but goodie WPlus9 stamps. I added some May Arts ribbon to the tag, I probably would've liked to do something to the background, but I ran out of time.

friend wine tag
Friend... one more project to play along with the Wplus9 Birthday "Trends" challenge, b/c really, what's a party without a bottle of wine? I've used stripes and misting on this project, in addition to Wplus9 dies and sentiment. I've die cut the cork paper with a PTI tag and tied the tag with May Arts ribbon and string and wrapped the whole bottle in a 4 inch piece of May Arts burlap. Anyone want to join me next week for my wine bottle tag class?

to my wonderful mother
Playing along, one last time, with the Wplus9 birthday celebrations, this time with the trend of metallics. I used gold embossing powder on the vellum (b/c I screwed up the stamping underneath!) and added a shiny piece of gold paper. I've stamped the wreath on top of a Basic Grey paper and love that even though I tried to erase the pencil marks for the circle, if you look closely it's still there. Okay, enough procrastinating for me, over and out.

to my wonderful sister
It is so hard to capture the detail of this tag... I used a piece of the same card stock from yesterday's card (this was the reject attempt that I cut into a tag), so I'm using the PTI Make It Monday challenge of pigment and dye inks. But I wanted to play along with Wplus9 birthday celebrations and they're talking about trends this week, so I've used some sequins and mist in my tag. A sad story about my misting, being that I was crafting at 5:45am, and not fully awake, I accidentally turned the mister the wrong direction and it fully covered and went INTO my coffee cup, tragic food, no more coffee after that mishap. I've used some Wplus9 sentiments, PTI Bigger Blooms and Mini Blooms and May Arts ribbon on this project. The background you can barely see is a Hero Arts background stamp. I guess I should give my sister a gift, huh?

love
So today's challenge for the PTI birthday celebrations is to grab 7 supplies in under 7 minutes and then sit down and create soemthing in under 17 minutes. Since I taught a Valentine's Day card class the other day I had extra pieces floating around (yes, you can read that as I haven't put anything away). So finding the pieces was easy, it only took me 1:37 to pick up 7 pieces.
But then I sat down and created the car above in 6:35! I'm also going to enter this card in the PTI Make It Monday Challenge, while my drop shadow die cuts aren't the same color, I kinda like the mix/match of the pink cardstock with the cork.
But, now that I've sat down (several hours later), I'm realizing that this card doesn't have any PTI products, laughing over here..... I've used Wplus9 love die and Wplus9 defining words and Lil Inker stitched mat die and a doily. Guess, I'll use this card for the Wplus9 birthday celebrations of "dimensions."

love
So this card is loosely based on a previous card I did last year, WPlus9 is having a birthday challenge and the theme is "comfort zone", not sure what about this card is me, but I love the simplicity, the texture of the cork paper with the paper, all the white... and I'm having a love-fest over on my work blog, anyone want to enter to win some flowers? (You could send them to me?).
I'm teaching a Valentine's Day card class tomorrow and what I love is the creative process of making cards, now I need to get down to business and prep all the pieces (and I'm still creating new ideas on what we could make). Deary me.... wish me luck!

friends, Monday Mood Board card
Hello friends! I was inspired to play along with the Wplus9 Monday Mood Board this morning, I used the Wplus9 folk art florals stamps and then after inking up the card stock rand the whole thing through the Big Shot with the Sizzix woodgrain embossing folder, added a few dots of glossy accents to the blooms, added a gold PTI friends die cut and wrapped the card stock with May Arts burlap string. I'm having one of those days... grumble. Right, back to work I go....

joy tag and coffee card
Happy December 1st!!! Hope everyone had a fabulous Thanksgiving weekend. I'm back with two crafty projects, seriously 4 days away from my craft room makes me go through withdrawal symptoms. My tag was inspired by the WPlus9 Monday Mood Board, I love how I can take something so simple and add more layers (that's not always easy for CAS girl over here). I've used Wplus9 dies, May Arts burlap ribbon, string and burlap center stitch ribbon and Basic Gray patterned paper.
Next up... a coffee card (I know, no surprise here), but I had this fun green cup sitting on my desk from the clean up and it just said it had to be used... and since I hadn't bothered to put away the Reverse Confetti Be a Barista set, why not put this fun sentiment to use again. I've used the CAS(E) this sketch for my inspiration (plus the Simon Says die, Hero Arts background stamp and PTI coffee cup stamp and die). Have a fabulous Sunday, I'm back to work and will be drowning in laundry from all our fabulous holiday weekend guests.

wplus9 monday mood board inspired tag
So I played along with the Wplus9 Monday Mood Board last week (click here), when I dyed the ribbon to match the colors of the bloom and this morning another tag came to be using the same idea. I used Defining Words (embossed in white) and die cut some leaves, wrapped the tag in a scrap of May Arts burlap and then dyed the two different width of May Arts silk with the colors to match the inspiration photo. I'll be posting the photos from the wine party I mentioned yesterday later this morning, but click here to see some beautiful photos from the last of our local farmers market. Thanks for the fun and games on my Facebook page yesterday, my desk isn't sparkling clean anymore, but one can still see the floor and most of the desk surface.

joy tag
joy tag... the thought process behind this project... a) teaching a tag card class at Ben Franklin and decided I just "needed" the Lawn Fawn tag set, b) wanted to play along with the new WPlus9 Monday Mood Board, c) couldn't figure out how to get a flower in my tag so I decided to use the PTI Make It Monday challenge "Ink Pad Designs" and apply it to May Arts silk ribbon (I used red, orange and yellow ink)... a bit random, but I like the way it turned out. You guys followed that train of thought, right?

Monday mood Board tag card
I love taking pieces of inspiration and turning them into something my own... tonight's card is inspired by the latest WPlus9 Monday Mood Board, I used Wplus9 Fresh Cut Florals with May Arts burlap ribbon and string and crochet ribbon, complete with a PTI tag, distress stain, wood embossing folder and some washi tape. I've added a happy birthday sentiment on the inside, 3 down, 27 more to go!

on your special day
On your special day.... it's World Card Making Day and I've spent my day editing photos, attending the Star Wars Read day at library and hanging out at a Cub Scout campout. So now I'm home and figured I'd play along with a few challenges for the WCD fun. I've combined the WPlus9 Monday Mood Board with the CAS-ual Fridays "Chevrons and sequins" challenge. I've used May Arts sheer with tinsel edge, silk and crochet velvet and added a doily from the Outside Inn's cleaning supplies. Did you get to spend your day crafting?

homemade get well wishes
Today's card has been sitting in pieces on my desk for days... do you guys have that, spurts of creativity and productivity and weeks where it takes 4 days to finish a card? I'm playing along with the WPlus9 Monday Mood Board, Elise is stepping down from the DT and Dawn has challenged us to use her above card as a source of inspiration. Aren't you ladies impressed that I didn't do red chevron? (I love that this is the extra from this card I made). I've been one busy butterfly, seriously I live in a town that never stops doing cool things, a vintage street fair, wine event, triathlon and an amazing dance performance-- and that was in the 4 days that the card didn't get put together....

thinking of you
Literal girl over here is playing along with the new Wplus9 Monday Mood Board, I've used a Hero Arts flower, Wplus9 sentiment, May Arts crochet ribbon and burlap string and some white mist. I added an accent to the center of the flower from a WMS set and added a glossy accent. I love simple cards... To see some photos from some fun in my 'hood check out my latest InnSide Nevada City blog post, "rediscovery" in the word my guest uses to help me figure out how to write about my visit of a place I'd forgotten about. I'm sure we could use that word to talk about my stash of crafty goodies... and if any of you missed yesterday's post-- I'm teaching a virtual card class on Wednesday- you could have a tour of my space :)

hello
hello... so I wanted to play, play, play with all the PTI Stamp-A-Faire challenges, but since I went to work today, that just did not happen...so I have one more card for the celebrations-- "sweet sugar coated embellishments." I am not one for glitter normally... but amazingly-- I have glitter in my craft desk... I wanted to play along with the Wplus9 Monday Mood Board-- don't you know how I took stripes and turned them into chevrons, literal girl is mixing things up! I'm proud that there's not anchor to be found on this card.. grin. Off to read a chapter with my little people...

Mood Board card
TGIF... I was inspired by the WPlus9 Monday Mood Board, love how challenges get me to think outside my box (I'm not sure I'd put these three colors together on my own). And the Cloud9 Hop is finishing off their year with an anything goes challenge. I'm excited that I made the first round of the new May Arts DT, woo hoo! I've used some faux canvas and wrinkled silk on this card. Hope you all have a great weekend, lots going on in our little town this weekend.....

doctor's orders
Happy Tuesday... so my older son went to the school's talent show and the younger one needed to stay home (for reasons we'll skip), so I decided to treat him to a baking session, something we don't do very often these days. So we made a whole batch of chocolate chip cookies and I decided that since I really didn't need to eat all of them in one sitting, I should share some of them. So I did a super quick CAS packaging job-- based on the WPlus9 Mood board inspiration and walked across the street and delivered the warm cookies to my mom. Moxie Fab World is having a gift packaging challenge and this is perfect.
To recreate this project start with the a glassine bag, die cut out the center with a square die (or any other size) and place two sheets of acetate on the inside to create the window. Die cut out tag, stamp sentiment and stamps (Wplus9 Fresh Baked), add a piece of washi tape to close and wrap package and tag to bag with May Arts twine.
Now we'll see if I don't eat all the remaining cookies....

home tweet home
Happy Saturday blog friends... do you ever have those weeks where you blink and all of sudden you've "neglected" your blog for 3 whole days (yes, I have a problem, but we already knew that). Addicted to blogging? But the crazy thing is that I've done a bunch of other non-crafty blogs (here and here) in those three days, does that count?
Right-o, enough rambling... today's card is for the WPlus9 Mood Board, b/c I've now won $10 from them 4 times (and yes, every time I win it costs me money to buy things, can't wait for my next round of goodies). I've used the WPlus9 Folk Art Florals die, Unity sentiment, May Arts twine and burlap string and some Glitz washi tape. Love the bright fun colors... Right, we're off to a wedding, better go find my dancing shoes.
