Card Recognition

something fruity?

I can't think of a good title for this card...  I set off to make a card for the Lawnscaping Challenge "All About Paper Piercing" and I decided to stamp the Swimsuit Season drink on fun patterned paper (My Mind's Eye and Stampin Up).  But I'm really tired after a sleepless night and an early gym workout, so the first attempt of the card, see below, is okay, but not quite what I was looking for.

Since Laurel is on the design team for Lawnscaping I thought of her little challenge to "redo" a card so I took it apart and tried another version.  I like the second card a lot better.  I wanted a bright and cheery card after a grey, wet cold winter day.  I've used a Close to My Heart metal token in between the drinks, many thanks to Lora for these fun goodies.

Moxie Fab World is also having a paper piercing challenge as well as Do More with Less (although I haven't done much fussy cutting, but it was fun to put some small scraps of paper to work!).  Thanks for looking at my cards, I'm crawling into bed.

Materials: First attempt: Lawn Fawn Swimsuit drink stamp, My Mind's Eye Love Me Do paper, Stampin Up designer paper Red Riding Hood Red, PTI Fillable Frames #4 die, vellum, The Twinery Caribean twine, Tim Holtz distressing ink Antique Linen, PTI kraft card stock, Close to My Heart Metal token

Second card: Lawn Fawn Swimsuit drink stamp, My Mind's Eye Love Me Do paper, Stampin Up designer paper Red Riding Hood Red, PTI Fillable Frames #4 die, vellum, The Twinery Caribean twine, yellow and black card stock from Spotlight, Stampin Up red card stock

Oh this is super cute! I love the second card with the additional layers. Really balances it out. I didn't realize my other little do over challenge ended so I am going to extend the date so you can list list this one over there too! Thanks so much for playing along with both challenges. Very well put together.

The red layer is a great addition, seems to dry my eye into the drinks.

Wow, the addition of the mats and a change in base colour really make a difference! At first thought it was just a centering of the patterned paper. My eyes were mostly on those refreshing drinks!

Isn't it funny what layers of color can do? Both are cute, and had you never posted the re-do we would have never known and liked it just the same! :-)
