May Arts Valentine's Day Hop

Welcome to a special May Arts Valentine's Day hop, if you've missed the previous days of inspiration check back on the May Arts blog for a list of all the DT's blog, one random commenter is going to win 4 spools of ribbon, so the more blogs you visit, the better your chance of winning.  So I've made a CAS card for my goodie...  I love May Arts Chevron Twill, but you can maximize your ribbon with this little trick.

I started by inking up the Wplus9 Defining Words, altering the location of the stamp to give the background more variety.  When I finished stamping the background I inked the whole card stock in black ink.

Next up I cut two small pieces of the May Arts chevron twill, cutting the bottom of one to look like a banner.  By cutting the piece in two smaller pieces you save that extra section for another project and no one will ever know!  I taped the top section in a loop and taped the bottom section to the bottom third of the card.

I started by die cutting out the PTI Rosie Posie flower and then inking up the flower.

Next up I die cut out two Lil Inker Stitched Mats, the larger in vellum and the smaller in PTI white card stock.  I stamped the sentiment to the white mat and added a bit of glitter to the inked flower and adhered the whole unit with foam dots to the card.   Now don't forget to hop along and see what else the rest of the DT has created, here's a list of today's crew, check the May Arts blog for more links.

I like how you used the ribbon -- great idea on saving ribbon. I recently purchased some May Art ribbon 3" wide for some projects and I will keep you ribbon tip in mind. I also like the vellum as an added layer. I'll have to CAS your card.

Erin -- just wanted to say I went online to check out where your Outside Inn might be located -- well it is a small world -- My daughter lives in Grass Valley and we often visit in the fall. If we don't bring our motorhome I'll check the availability of your Inn. Maybe we can visit about card making too -- LOL Really enjoy your cards on your blog.

Nice card. I like the ribbon and how you used it.

I also looked at the motel you run. It looks really cute. I live in Northern California so I had to see what it was.

Cute card! I like the frugalness (is that a word?) of just using the ribbon that shows and not the extra middles piece that no one would see!
