Sunglasses Card

This card is another one of the sketches over at Practicing Creativity's release contest. I love taking a sketch and turning it and making it something totally different then the original card. I don't have any large ovals, so I thought I'd try something different, and ended up going with these cool die cut sunglasses. Great way to combine challenges. Mark's Finest Papers Speedy Cat is to use die cuts this week. I think the card also works well for this week's KL Stampin N Scrappin "summer and beach" theme. Die Cut Dreams is celebrating the beach this week too.

Materials: My Mind's Eye patterned paper, Die Cuts with a View sunglasses die cut, Stampin Up blue card stock, Hero Arts sentiment, vellum, Stampin Up black ink

Cupcake party card

A nice bright square birthday card. It has a few issues, but I like it anyway, so I'm overlooking the details that didn't work out (i.e. the corners). This card is for the 365 Cards challenge to use the word "party" in a card and the KL Stampin N Scrappin girly birthday card (b/c I figured there should be at least one card that wasn't all pink!).

Heartfelt cheers

I'm trying yet another new challenge for Off the Wall Craftiness.
I must confess that I'm not 100% sure I got the right colors for this challenge. Here's the photo for the challenge. The theme was showers, babies, weddings, rain, umbrella's, etc. I decided to go with the idea of weddings, because it's always good to have a few extra of those cards in my stash. But I will admit that I started thinking of clouds and really liked how the Hero Arts paisley looked in white ink, but the end result was something a bit different. Once again this challenge has pushed me outside my color palette. I added a ripped edge to the vellum for the KL Stampin Challenge's "Tear it Up".

Materials: Blue cardstock, Shelly Castillo Home Is Where the Heart Is digital paper, yellow vellum, Hero Arts paisley, Stampin Up Heartfelt greeting, Studio G wine glass stamp, white ink, black ink, versamark pen with yellow ink

Celebrating Animals

Here's a quick card I just put together instead of packing school lunches! It's for the KL Stampin 'n Scrapping "Show our Animals some Love" challenge. I've been playing with these colored pencils-- still working on the best way to used them, but enjoying the learning curve.

Inside Out Challenge- Coffee Card

This is a card for the KL Stamping N Scrappin Blog. The challenge, a card decorated on the inside and out. I love this coffee stamp and thought I'd put a simple greeting on the inside. It seems to be a well timed card, b/c warm wishes and coffee seem like a nice option on this rainy day.
