A friend has asked for some gift tags, so I decided to detox from my crazy day (click here for more info) by making some gift tags.

i love you

I'm squeezing this card in tonight as I was took some quiet time in my craft room after a full day at work, a Cub Scout meeting and a movie night...  I've upcycled some packaging and put my new Paper Issues goodies to work, along with some a SRM sticker.  I used the Skipping Stones sketch, sorry Kelly I only got around to playing on the last week of the month, bad blogging pal.  I posted a fun giveaway on the Outside Inn's facebook page, I'm giving away a new take out coffee mug and I gotta say I'm loving all the FB love!  If you want to post a comment I will mail the mug :)

thinking about ya

Do you ever just take the scraps that consume your craft space and create?  I saw the new Skipping Stones Design sketch this morning and went, "I can do that with the PTI Fabulous Frames" pieces sitting in front of me...  I love the idea of text as a background, so I'm playing along with the Lawnscaping crew, despite my lack of Lawn Fawn stamps on this card, I printed the Hero Arts digital friendship definition on vellum and faux embossing the PTI All Booked Up impression plate and added them at an angle (these pieces were in the scrap pile).  CAS-ual Fridays is having B&W plus one and I've used the Mr. Huey mist water cooler color to add a little green to the chevron and the circle die cut, subtle bit of green.  And did you see the news over at May Arts?  Go check it out and leave a comment, Bethney's got a fabulous giveaway to celebrate her annoucement.

birthday cheer

I've got a few fun birthday themed goodies for you today, it's birthday season in our house and I've got a couple of cards with that theme in mind.  The first one, check out my use of PTI Rasberry Fizz,  be proud.  I wanted to play along with Paper Smooches Sparks Challenge, just think birthday and a stand?  I know I went from cupcakes to birthday cake, but it works right?  Plus the new Moxie Fab World "Stamp It Birthday Card" challenge, what's better then a multi-layer cake with a bit of sparkle?

Next up, not so sure about this one... but I tried to use this week's Play Date Cafe colors with the Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge, oh well, I'll stick it in the shoe box of cards and I'm sure it'll find a use, even if I don't love the card.

And since this is a birthday themed post, I couldn't miss out on the drink themed sketch over at Skipping Stones this week.  (Sorry my SSD sentiment didn't fit, bit in theory it says "Happy Birthday" on the inside, reality isn't quite there yet, but...).

And this the project I should be working on... gift bags for the birthday party this afternoon....

Happy Mother's Day

Hello fabulous blogland!  I've been going through withdrawal from my little crafty blog world addiction, funny how international vacations put a damper on hours of internet surfing and crafting. But, why not come back with a card that works for 4 challenges?  I've made a Mother's Day for my husband, wanted to make a masculine Mother's Day card, as he's the only boy out of 4 kids.  I have used this week's Play Date Cafe colors as my color inspiration and rotated the Skipping Stones Sketch.  I used paper scraps for this week's Make it Monday challenge and the Ribbon Carousel challenge is to use the sentiment Mother's Day in your card, and I've got some fabulous May Arts ribbon on the tag (thanks Jen).

And for those of you who keep asking for more Africa photos... here's a little video I put together from one of the game parks we visited in Botswana.

just call me bag lady, part 1

So I've been working hard on getting the gift bags done for my sister's upcoming wedding, and the pressure's on... so please forgive this photo heavy post-- but I've gotta share all the work I've been doing, b/c you, my blogging friends, will appreciate it.  And if you love all these come back tomorrow, for "just call me bag lady, part 2".

I threw in a few challenges with my bags, just to keep things interesting.  This bag uses the Paper Smooches Sparks Challenge as a source of inspiration.  I've used a layer of felt under the pine cone and a ribbon tab from the inspirational photo.  Loving my new Paper Smooches Geo-Graphic stamps.

This bag uses this week's Skipping Stones Sketch.

These two bags work for the Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge.  I've used the WMS Very Vintage Label #1.

And this just goes to show that when I recruit helpers that I can mass produce, but only when there's someone sitting across the table from me keeping me on track.  So anyone have a guess how many I have left to make???

Materials for various bags: Impress Stamps pine cone, Waltzingmouse Stamp Very Vintage Label 1, Paper Smooches Geo-graphic background stamp, Skipping Stones Grunge background stamp, PTI kraft and dark chocolate and cream card stock, Spellbinders Nestabilites Labels 1 and 8, PTI Mat Stack 4 and 5 dies, PTI double sided banner die, Versafine black ink, Tim Holtz distress inks gathered twigs and antique linen, Tim Holtz distress stain antique linen, Tim Holtz woodgrain embossing folder, Smooch Vanilla Ice spritz, Tattered Angels graphite mister, Fiskars corner rounder, Coredinations card stock, May Arts natural twine, PTI edgers die, PTI Tag It Sale die, PTI kraft felt, PTI kraft ribbon, kraft bags from Ben Franklin, kraft boxes

Sketch inspired welcome boxes

More boxes!  I've got a few more to go (yes that would be 64 for those of you counting), but for those of you concered about my inability to mass produce and my procrastinating nature, I'm happy to report that the DH offered help and I've recruited some help.  But in the mean time I'm playing along with some challenges to keep the inspiration flowing.

This welcome box uses the new Retro Sketches.  I was inspired by Karen's recent Skipping Stones card where she stamped the woodgrain and then scored it to make it look like a fence, mine didn't quite turn out the same, but that was my source of inspiration.

This bag (b/c upon inspection today I realized I only have 44 boxes, instead of 70, so I will be purchasing more kraft bags...) uses this week's Skipping Stones Design sketch.

Thanks

Happy Wednesday!  Do any of you have the problem of finding inspiration at the absolute worst time? I made part of this card at 5:50am while waiting for my ride to the gym and then the light bulb to finish the card happened in the 20 minutes before I was suppose to walk out the door for work.  So I left house in a flury with my breakfast in hand and left the crafting mess in the way of my frenzied activity. I've used the Skipping Stones sketch and the B&W with a pop of color for the A Passion for Papertrey Challenge.

Materials: Skipping Stones Grunge sentiment, PTI Rosie Posie, Life Style Celebration letterpress, PTI Tag It Sale die , Verafine black ink, Letterpress black ink, Tim Holtz Distress Ink festive berries, Stampendous clear embossing powder, water color paper, black card stock, vellum, May Arts ribbon, My Mind's Eye Rhinestones

love....coffee

I've been sucked into the PTI anniversary fun and this morning I asked my handy husband for ideas on how to make an interactive card-- even made him watch a video.  And his response, "Don't you have a perforated blade?"  By golly I do-- so I swapped out the blade of my Fiskars rotary cutter and made this cute card, underneath the tab it says "celebrate today and always", but since my neighbor is going to use this for a wedding this weekend I didn't want to take it apart.  I used the Waltzingmouse Sketch challenge, seriously think I could use WMS Say It Loud on every single card.  And since I've used red with kraft together I'm going to enter it in the Kraft Journal challenge.

Next up I have a coffee card using the Skipping Stones sketch.  I recently found the Hero Arts Have a Donut set on sale at my local Ben Franklin for $3.75, as many of you know I have a small collection of coffee stamps, but who can resist a mark down like that???  I added the PTI Warm Happiness Too sentiment which I thought worked well for the friendship Hero Arts challenge.

Materials: Waltzingmouse Stamps Say It Loud, PTI Rosie Posie, PTI Mat Stack Collection sentiment (hidden), PTI impression plate, PTI kraft and pure poppy card stock, Versafine black ink, Tim Holtz Distress inks festive berries and worn lip stick, Stampendous clear embossing powder, PTI Rosie Posie die and Tag it Sale #1, May Arts ribbon, My Minds Eye rhinestones

Coffee Card: Hero Arts Have a Donut, Hero Arts cling background, PTI Warm Happiness Too sentiment and steam, Spellbinders scallop circle, Versafine black ink, Tim Holtz distress ink antique photo, Glossy accents, water color pencils, canvas paper, May Arts natural string, PTI kraft card stock

Super Sunday cards

Welcome to another 365 Cards Super Sketchy Sunday.  This week's sketch reminded me of a cake, so I polled the little people in my house for ideas and they came up with "books, stairs, upside down ice cream cone".  I opted for a watercolor feel and some butterflies, but I'd love to see how the sketch inspires you.

And this card uses the current Skipping Stones Design sketch, I missed the deadline last week, so I'm trying to be early this wek.  I was asked to make a few more cards for my girlfriend's co-worker.  Inside the card it has the PTI Big Birthday Wishes sentiment "years ago... on what otherwise might have been just an ordinary day, the world got you".

Materials: PTI Happy Trails, SRM stickers, PTI Double sided banner die and Happy Trails die, Tim Holtz distress inks festive berries, worn lipstick, seedless perserves, Smooch Cheery Ice spritz, PTI kraft and white card stock, Spellbinders Label One, vellum,
