Inspired by Audrey's tag on Day 15 of the 25 Tags for Christmas, using some fun Lawn Fawn goodies, Simon Says stays, MFT circle die, May Arts ribbon.   I'm also adding it to the Lawnscaping Clean and Simple Challenge.

Who knew I could make a one layer tag!!!  A CAS tag for the new Lawnscaping "Celebration" challenge with a couple of Lawn Fawn sets and tag die, plus 4 different May Arts ribbon.  Hope you're all celebrating your Tuesday fun, I'm a bit under the weather and trying to stay on task (hence posting card blog posts in the middle of my work day)....Right, back to work I go.

A friend ordered 3 sympathy cards and it took me awhile to find the inspiration, the card above was the last one I needed to make.  I hand painted the Lawn Fawn tag with water colors, used the WPlus9 flower, PTI sentiment, May Arts ribbon.

And thanks to the Facebook Coffee Lovers Group I got a nice reminder about the Merry Monday Christmas warm beverage challenge, so I used some more water colors, for the Lawnscaping challenge and made a mini hot cocoa tag with Lawn Fawn stamps and a fun collection of May Arts ribbon (who can resist the metallic velvet ribbon?).  I just looked at the tag again, it lost one of its wooden stars-- ha ha...   Hope everyone is starting their week off on the right foot....

coffee if all else fails

Dreaming of an afternoon pick me up, so why not post this coffee project I made this morning.  Lawnscaping Challenge is to incorporate watercoloring, so I added some color to the Lawn Fawn tag and then cut the cups out.  The sentiment is from The Ton, but the stamped tag and dies and cups are from Lawn Fawn.  May Arts silk ribbon.  Now who's going to bring me coffee?

I have been busy, doing who knows what, and neglecting my poor crafty blog, I think between the prep for last week's card class and the inability to put anything away, I never found the motivation to finish any projects (there are a number of pieces floating around).  So, today, I'm sharing a fun one layer coffee card.  I used glossy accents on the take out mugs, not sure if that's enough texture for the Lawnscaping challenge.  And since Lynn motivated me with her one layer beauty, I'm going to play along with one-layer simplicty challenge, "what's your number"...  the answer is 4-- I need 4 coffee drinks today!  The mugs are Lawn Fawn, sentiment is Waltzing Mouse, colored pencils and a little distress inks.

I keep making tags...   today's crafty projects are from a variety of sources of inspiration.

This Thanks tag is inspired by the new Tag You're It Challenge.  I've used a WMS flower from my stash, the new Thanks die cut from PTI, some pattered paper from DCWV, a Lawn Fawn leaf die out of a scrap of Coredianations, PTI burlap string and embossing paste for the chevrons.  

This tag was inspired by Tracey's 25 tags of Christmas, love the look of the embossing onto the patterned paper (I used the Simon Says falling stars die as my stencil).  I've used a the Lawn Fawn stamp and die, plus some My Favorite Things snow die cuts out of vellum, May Arts ribbon and patterned paper from my stash. 

And this tag was my first attempt at the one above, when I realized I needed to stamp and the use the embossing paste.  But I was inspired the tags over at Ellen Hutson's classroom tag this morning and added some long neglected Vintage Market number tape behind the die cut.  So I'm playing along with the Lawncaping "count me in" challenge.   The only bad thing to making so many tags lately is that I have to decide which tags we're going to make in my upcoming card making class, I have way too many ideas....

Moose tag

Happy Thursday crafty peeps!  I was inspired to play along with the Lawnscaping challenge after I saw ~amy~'s cute card, I'm honestly not much of a critter girl, but who can resist this moose?  I used the Simon Says falling star die on a PTI Tag so I could play along with the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge (Tags).  I've used some more May Arts ribbon (I know, I know), this is the wired burlap, burlap string and a piece of 4 inch burlap to decorate the bag.  The to is from the Lawn Fawn set and the border is from a PTI Mat Stack stamp I had never used (imagine that!).

Hello... I've got some more tags to share, playing along with more fun over at Ellen Hutson 12 Tags of Christmas challenge.  The top one is based on Teri's tag.  I don't have a skate die, so I thought a sled would be a suitable alternative.  

This one is based on Kittie's tag, and there's a little bit of time left in the Lawnscaping tag challenge, so I'm going to add this to that challenge too.

And this one is another take on Jill's tag, except this time I went green vs. blue.  All of these projects would be considered procrastination from the things I should really be doing....

Snowman Tag

This snowman tag is basically a redo of this tag, can you tell me what's different?  For the body I used a piece of letterpress scrap paper from my husband's cousin's work (Full Circle Press).  Lawnscaping is having a tag challenge and this tag is based on Kelly's tag for the 12 Tags of Christmas Challenge for Ellen Hutson.  It's hard to see but the black frame of the tag is embossed in glitter and for the middle layer of vellum I embossed the whole piece in a fun gold chucky glitter embossing powder.  I've used May Arts sheer with tinsel edge and metallic velvet ribbons and tied a bow with burlap string.  I think a snowman tag is a great project to do today b/c it's seriously freezing here, and I've spent my day dealing with frozen pipe dramas, both at home and work.

I love tags, something about them... and I'm not actually going to say that they're fast, I probably could've made a card faster... Today's tag was inspired by Kelly's tag for the Ellen Hutson 12 tags of Christmas challenge.  I used a lot of the same ideas in my tag, pretty pink paper (which I heat embossed glitter around the frame with the Lawn Fawn tag set), a girly snowman, layers of snow and 4 different May Arts ribbon...  I added the layer of embossed glitter to the vellum with an embossing pen (great way to add a little bit) and covered the whole snowman in Tim Holtz distress stickles clear rock candy (so the text has a sparkly texture on top of the faux letterpress print-- always a great way to use up scraps!).  And Lawnscaping is having a Tag challenge this week, so I'll enter this in there too.  Been a busy week in my little world, put together the biggest giveaway I've ever done on my work blog- if anyone lives anywhere near Northern California and wants to put your name in the hat to win a fabulous weekend away click here.

Thanksgiving Cards

Greetings.. I've got 4 cards to share today, all of them are for an upcoming card making class I'm teaching next month, the theme being "Thanksgiving Cards."  There's also a woodgrain theme in the cards (a little dry embossing, a little CORE sanding woodgrain, a Lil Inker woodgrain frame embossing and a woodgrain stamp).  The class will be at my local Ben Franklin on Wednesday, November 6th from 6:00-7:30pm, anyone want to come join me?  

This last card is for the Lawnscaping Challenge "Patterned Paper" because I bought the new Lawn Fawn leaf dies and used some Lawn Fawn papers (Daphne's Closet).  And to get into the spirit of fall check out this stunning photo I took this afternoon of one of my favorite trees.

So I've been on a tag kick this last week... and thought I might as well play along with the Moxie Fab World Holiday tag challenge-- and somehow managed to make it one layer, so I'm playing along with the Lawnscaping crew.  I love simplicity...  so my Lawn Fawn snowman is good to go just as is... I added some snow with an embossing pen, colored with water color pencils and added some May Arts solid wrinkle ribbon.  Now hopefully I will remember where these tags are when Christmas rolls around....

Playing along with the Lawnscaping crew, because some awesome friends of mine played with this challenge in honor of my birthday and I didn't want to miss out on the challenge fun (call me a junkie, I'm okay with that).  I don't have a circle die large enough, so I upcycled a letterpress coaster that my husband's cousin gave me from her work.  I've used May Arts silk and satin pleats, plus Lawn Fawn Bannerific and Interlocking Backdrops.  And while this is not my blog hop post (mine's coming on Thursday), check out the May Arts and Lawn Fawn blogs this week for a great hop with prizes!!!

I love wine tags, one of those go-to projects that I always enjoy.  This project combines a couple of challenges.  I've used a vellum tag and a couple of vellum snowflakes for the PTI Make it Monday "Layered Vellum Embellishments" and a tag on top of a tag for the Lawnscaping Challenge and some wintery blue for CAS-ual Fridays "Winter Blues" challenge.  Seriously a decorated botle of Baileys will cure any winter blues right?  My snowflakes and scarf were made with the extra from my gelatos card the other day (I put too much perfect pearls in part of the card stock so it wasn't usable for the original project, but works great for smaller scraps.

And this fun birthday card is just a bonus card, but it ties in well with the drinking theme (chuckling).   Wishing everyone a fabulous Thanksgiving weekend, I seriously love that our traveling involves walking across the street to my mother's house... but thinking of all you weary travelers who have to go far to see your loved ones.  Cheers!

Here are two goodies I sent off with my card order the other day, a gift tag and a gift card holder.  Both use Echo Park Very Merry Christmas papers.  I'm teaching a gift tags/labels class next Wednesday ann while I'm not 100% sure we're going to make either of these particular projects, we're going to make things like these ones :)  And tonight-- I'm teaching my son's Cub Scout Den how to make thank you cards, can't wait to see how six 7 year old boys do with crafting supplies.  Lawnscaping is doing a tags challenge this week, and while my project doesn't include any Lawn Fawn goodies, it's still a tag :)

Snowman Card and card class photos

Hello!  So last night I taught another card making class at my local Ben Franklin and this time around the theme was Christmas cards.  When looking for inspiration for the card I decided to CASE Christina's recent card (scroll down to the tags).  I love that everyone in the class decided to accessorize their snowman in different ways, too fun!  Below are a few snapshots from the class, my next class will be holiday tags, November 28th at 6pm.  And since I can't seem to post something with a challenge this card works well for the Lawnscaping Challenge "dust 'em off"-- while I've used the Lawn Fawn set, I realized when looking for snowflakes that I've had the PTI Winter Penguin set for awhile and haven't used most of the stamps on there.  Which means this project also works well for the new A Passion for Papertrey challenge too.  And one last challenge-- since A Blog Named Hero is doing a fun Hero Arts/Lawn Fawn week I thought this would be a perfect addition to their latest challenge "Use a die cut or punch", I think adding tags to cards is a great to add another layer (for the CAS girl).

thinking about ya

Do you ever just take the scraps that consume your craft space and create?  I saw the new Skipping Stones Design sketch this morning and went, "I can do that with the PTI Fabulous Frames" pieces sitting in front of me...  I love the idea of text as a background, so I'm playing along with the Lawnscaping crew, despite my lack of Lawn Fawn stamps on this card, I printed the Hero Arts digital friendship definition on vellum and faux embossing the PTI All Booked Up impression plate and added them at an angle (these pieces were in the scrap pile).  CAS-ual Fridays is having B&W plus one and I've used the Mr. Huey mist water cooler color to add a little green to the chevron and the circle die cut, subtle bit of green.  And did you see the news over at May Arts?  Go check it out and leave a comment, Bethney's got a fabulous giveaway to celebrate her annoucement.
