Celebrate the Date/back to school

This week's Play Date Cafe colors are yellow/white and red and I loved Suzanne's literal take on the houses and colors, click here to see her card. I am very literal and I was definitely inspired to think about yellow and red houses, and Kathy's super cute digital ones are so easy to work with, click here. Kah-Wink-e-Dink is having a primary colors challeng this week, so these colors work well for that challenge. There's a number of back to school challenges at the moment and I'd been meaning to make some more cards with my cute Treehouse digital school buses. So thanks Hero Arts, Crafty Ho's and Treehouse Thursday Challenge for celebrating school. Simon Says Stamp is doing songs this week and my youngest son is a huge fan of "The Wheels on the Bus," I can just hear him now shouting the song out at the top of his lungs. Cute Card Thursday is having a "whateva" challenge.

Materials: Treehouse stamps digital school bus, Kathy Martin digital houses, Hero Arts Clear design sentiment, PTI cloud stamped on graph paper, yellow patterned paper from stash, Red Stamping Up designer paper, black card stock, white gel pen, Fiskars rotary scallop cutter, Brillance Moonshine white ink, Stampin Up black ink, Making Memories eyelet punch for tire holes, Stampin Up red card stock

Cherry thanks

Sylvia was oh-so generous with the Color Throwdown party and gave away several Stampin Up sets as a thank you for the 280 comments she received on her blog. I love generous people. (This is a great place to throw in a random mention to Jenny's blog candy give away, click here to post a comment- she's spreading the word about her challenge and giving away a Hero Arts set). But back to my current thank you card-- thank you Sylvia for the great Stampin Up cherry stamp. I've used the Card Patterns sketch. Mark's Finest Papers Speedy Cat challenge this week is thank you cards, so here's another entry to that challenge. And Everything But the Kitchen Sink is celebrating buttons this month for their household item. Thanks to Sylvia I had these cute buttons. Last month when EBTKS did tin foil I was able to get the entire family to play along, click here, so this month my 5 year old son wanted to play again. I absolutely love his creative ideas, I swear it wasn't my idea to use buttons as coconuts. And since I've used the great Cosmo Cricket paper with polka dots let's enter this in the Simon Says Stamp and Treehouse Thursday polka dot challenges.

Materials: Stampin Up cheery stamp, PTI sentiment, Cosmo Cricket Early Riser patterned paper, Ribbon, Fiskars circle cuter, Stampin Up buttons, white twine,Versacolor red ink, Stampin Up black ink

Ben's card: Hero Arts palm tree & sunflower, PTI cloud & sentiment, buttons, Versacolor ink

Polka dot couches with bling pillows

I was having a serious night of indecision. I am a CAS girl who likes clean and simple cards and I can normally make a decision, stick with it (pun intended) and move on. Last night, something was in the air and I spent 2 hours making this card. Not sure why. I wanted to make something for the Cas-tastic Wednesday "bling it up" challenge and being a non- bling kinda girl I had to go digging. In the boys' craft box I found a long forgotten container of glitter glue. After getting glitter glue everywhere I remembered why I'd banished it to the bottom of the spare bedroom closet. So please note the sparkling throw pillows on the couch, I'm sure there are people out there who have sequins on their pillows? I have been having far too much fun with this PTI On The Couch set and I wanted to make a polka dot couch for the Treehouse Thursday Challenge and the Simon Says Stamp Challenge dot challenges. I love how Cosmo Cricket Early Riser paper looks, wouldn't it be fun to have such playful couches? I've paper pierced the couches, so I'll enter another card in the ABC Design Blog challenge (are you ladies sick of me yet?).

Materials: PTI couch and sentiment, Cosmo Cricket Early Riser patterned paper, silver glitter glue, Stampin Up Black ink, Silver brads, vellum, Stampin Up blue card stock, white gel pen, Stamping up black embossing powder
