The latest Curtain Call photo inspiration captivated my interest... I started with the WMS woodgrain background stamp, embossed it in white on blue card stock and then cut into panels and added some distress stain. I've used a snowflake die and added the PTI sentiment "Happy brrrrr-thday" on the inside. Perfect card for those late December birthdays? I think I'll add this to the CAS-ual Friday embossing challenge and the Simon Says Stamp "Anything Goes" challenges.

more cards
So I'm still working on a card order over here and need to make another 20 cards before next Thursday (and I'm teaching a card class on Wednesday night), so I'm going to see how many fun challenges I can find between now and then to help motivate me along (and yes, I know it would be easier to make multiples of the same cards, but that's just not my thing). So this card was a CASE of this card I did), but I've used the new Artful Delight sketch as jumping off point. I love that Simon Says Stamps is having an anything goes challenge, any of these three cards would work!
This card is for the CASology challenge for black, I don't often do black bases, but love how it looks with the Hero Arts background embossed in white embossing powder, which makes it perfect for the CAS-ual Fridays Embossing challenge.
And this thank you card is for the Paper Smooches SPARKS challenge.

on your special day
On your special day.... it's World Card Making Day and I've spent my day editing photos, attending the Star Wars Read day at library and hanging out at a Cub Scout campout. So now I'm home and figured I'd play along with a few challenges for the WCD fun. I've combined the WPlus9 Monday Mood Board with the CAS-ual Fridays "Chevrons and sequins" challenge. I've used May Arts sheer with tinsel edge, silk and crochet velvet and added a doily from the Outside Inn's cleaning supplies. Did you get to spend your day crafting?

kraft and white flower card
A CAS card with no sentiment using Wplus9 defining words for the background, Simon Say Stamps flower die, Lil Inker stitched frame and May Arts silk and woven velvet ribbons for the tab. I added a bit of white mist to the background and a little glitter pen to the flower and inked all the edges in white ink, presto. I'm playing along with the CAS-ual Fridays "She's krafty" challenge. Simple... kraft... just my kind of card.

Happy Birthday Pinwheel card
Happy Birthday.... for a summer birthday girl I think a topo map pinwheel would be the perfect birthday card.... I'm playing along with the Waltzingmouse Stamps Blog Party (Summer is the theme) and the CAS-ual Fridays "Map quest" challenge. And to make life difficult, can you guess where the map is? (Hint, it's near where I live....).

love
Playing along with the Wplus9 Mood board and since I didn't use any stamps I'm also going to play along with the CAS-ual Fridays "no stamps" challenge.
love... here's a list of five things I love today:
1. my husband came home after being gone for 5 nights
2. my fabulously talented jewelry making friend came to visit me at work and brought coffee
3. my boys returned from a night away and greeting me with hugs and kisses and tall tales of all the double black runs they had skied with nana.
4. someone else cooked dinner
5. my photos on my work blog today make me smile, bring on summer and Popsicles.
And not really related, there's still time to like this photo of my fabulous helpers, we took part in an event at our local Ben Franklin and if their photo gets the most likes we get a $50 gift certificate to go shopping....

happy birthday love
Happy Birthday love.... I was inspired by the Play Date Cafe colors and the CAS-ual Fridays color blocking challenge. I'm not sure if my use of washi tape is Moxie Fab enough for their Card Creations challenge. Been trying to post this all day, and that silly day job keeps getting in the way! Happy Monday everyone.
Materials: SRM Sticker Sentiment, WPlus9 die, card stock scraps, washi tape, PTI white and black card stock

hello and thanks
Hello... I love that even on such a simple sketch I break the rules... I guess I should've put the sentiment above the telephone... oops. I've used the CAS(E) this sketch and May Arts Twill Chevron Stipes with the PTI telephone die and a Lawn Fawn sentiment. CAS-ual Fridays is having a black and white, plus one and that challenge actually works for both of these cards.
And this card is my attempt at the Moxie Fab World camera craze challenge, I'm not sure this is innovative, but love the bright orange cameras with the black and white. Wishing everyone a fabulous Saturday... I'm off to sample a local super club tonight for the first time, photos on my work blog tomorrow!

3 flower cards
Runway Inspired sent me down a path thinking about twigs and flowers with off white, blue and greens... so I made the above card. CAS-ual Fridays is still having a thank you card challenge this week, so this one will work well for that challenge too. But then I was on a woodgrain train of thought and made the additional cards.

Coffee cards
Hello, ready for a cup of coffee? If you're looking for my May Arts Christmas blog hop, click here. The hop continues today with these talented ladies:
But today I've got some coffee cards to share... Working on a card order, she wanted two of this card (and since that card already had someone's name on it (shhh... I'm not telling), I made the following cards.
And then I made this card (as CASE of the card I got from ~amy~ in the mail) for a friend. I added some scored lines for the current CAS-ual Fridays challenge. (I also scored around the first card thinking of the challenge). Can you spy my upcycled take out holder?
And this gift card holder was for my pal the other week, she's putting it in her husband's stocking.
And my last gift card holder uses this week's Play Date Cafe colors.

A friend has asked for some gift tags, so I decided to detox from my crazy day (click here for more info) by making some gift tags.
This tag loosely resembles this week's Skipping Stones Design sketch. Several of these tags use this week's Play Date Cafe colors and they all work for the CAS-ual Fridays "Gift Tags" challenge.

joy
Just barely making this week's Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge. I got some goodies from WPlus9, so I've been playing with the die cuts and some glitter foam. Together with some May Arts white sheer with diagonal stripes ribbon and done! Paper Issues is celebrating the holidays this month, so these cards work well for that challenge.
And this super simple tag is for those coffee mugs I've got at the motel, thought it'd be fun to have a few wrapped up, the gift on the go. CAS-ual Fridays is having a tag challenge this week, I'll probably make another few...
Materials: Waltzingmouse Say It Loud holidays, WPlus9 seasonal sentiments die, glitter foam, Lil Inker stictched mats, May Arts ribbon, vellum, Stampendous black embossing folder
Second card: PTI Pure Poppy card stock, WPlus9 Seasonal sentiemnts, glitter foam

wine tag and wine glass birthday card
I love wine tags, one of those go-to projects that I always enjoy. This project combines a couple of challenges. I've used a vellum tag and a couple of vellum snowflakes for the PTI Make it Monday "Layered Vellum Embellishments" and a tag on top of a tag for the Lawnscaping Challenge and some wintery blue for CAS-ual Fridays "Winter Blues" challenge. Seriously a decorated botle of Baileys will cure any winter blues right? My snowflakes and scarf were made with the extra from my gelatos card the other day (I put too much perfect pearls in part of the card stock so it wasn't usable for the original project, but works great for smaller scraps.
And this fun birthday card is just a bonus card, but it ties in well with the drinking theme (chuckling). Wishing everyone a fabulous Thanksgiving weekend, I seriously love that our traveling involves walking across the street to my mother's house... but thinking of all you weary travelers who have to go far to see your loved ones. Cheers!
Birthday card: PTI Pretty Peonies die, My Favorite Things Let's Toast wine glass die, PTI Pretty Peonies sentiment, May Arts velvet corduroy ribbon, Artful Delight papers and buttons, PTI kraft card stock, Tim Holtz distress stain antique linen
