Strawberry Sweetie

This week's photo at City Crafter looks so delicious. The theme is food inspired card and I've chosen to play with another one of my new stamps (compliments of Sylvia). I think eating fresh strawberries right now sounds like heaven. Too bad it's the wrong season down here at the bottom of the globe. This week's Flourishes Timeless Tuesday challenge is no embellishments, easy challenge for me, CAS girl that I am.

One Layer Couch Christmas Card

I have been eyeing this PTI eye set for awhile, and after a generous birthday card from my grandmother I decided to splurge (this isn't the only set, beware!). Susan at Simplicity is having a one layer Christmas challenge and I'm not really a traditional Christmas card kinda gal. Will you guys believe me when I say I don't make Christmas cards? So here's my take on a one layer Christmas card. Flourishes, Critter Sketch Challenge and Jill are also celebrating Christmas in July.

EBTKS tin foil cards

Everything But the Kitchen Sink is challenging folks to try to incorporate tin foil into their cards and I was a bit stuck. So I asked my husband for some input and I was pleasantly surprised to see that he got completely absorbed in the project. He even made a card! The best part of this family agenda was that after we left out all the scraps on the coffee table our 5 year old son decided he wanted to make a card too. The most precious thing of all was when I asked him what he wanted to do with the card and he said "I want to enter it in a card competition." How sweet! (Hum, starting to think perhaps I spend a bit too much time making cards! But if I can drag the family into a challenge or two once in awhile that might not be a bad idea?). We decided to make Christmas cards, a great way to celebrate our winter wonderland outside our window.

These are Ben's cards. I love how he put these pieces together. He even dipped the small punched snowflake on the right in blue ink.

This is Dan's card. He'll probably not like that I've posted this, but then again he doesn't read this blog!

Flourishes' Timeless Tuesday is for a Christmas card. Unscripted Sketches & Corrosive Challenge, Christmas All Year Round, Stamp Simply are celebrating Christmas in July. Stampendous is having any "anything challenge".

Two Pears

Two colorful cards, two different takes on the Sweet Sunday sketch. Both cards use the Sweet Stampin Challenge color challenge of brown, blue & green. Love this cute little pear stamp, the cards are also for the Kah-Wink-E-Dink, Flourishes & Cute Card Thursday challenge to use fruit.

Cherry Blossom

Flourishes Timeless Tuesday and Kah-Wink-E-Dink Digi Stamps are both celebrating fruit this week with their challenges. This card started out attempting to be a take on the Mojo Monday sketch, but after multiple attempts I could figure out how to work with a star. So I kept it cleaner, but definitely busier then my normal CAS cards. I like the colors though, I've put a serious dent into the Early Riser Cosmo Cricket papers in the last week. But, I'm going to have use the paper at some point right?

A one layered card with a flourish for Susan's Simplicity One Layer Wednesday challenge. Because there's a large letter the card also works for the Res Q Eye Chart challenge. And because the T is embossed I'll enter it in the Caardvarks & Flourishes embossing challenge.

3 cups of coffee

I love simple cards and I love coffee cards (which is very obvious to anyone who's been checking out my cards). Today's card works for the Flourishes & Create 4 Fun's color challenge of Black, White and one other color, plus 365 cards Line It Up challenge.

Materials: Global Solutions Coffee cup, red card stock, black paper, scallop cutter, versarmark pen w/ red ink.

Flower Celebrate the Day Cards

I find it amazing that my card making skills have evolved over the years and how I am currently enjoying the CAS movement. This simple single layer card makes me smile. I love the clean white space, the faux stitching and simple flower. Just love it! Flourishes is having a one layer flower theme this month and Hero Arts is celebrating summer.

Jacket Thank You

This card makes me smile for so many reasons. First of all it's a thank you for my sister for the very cool new Cloudveil softshell jacket she just sent me in the mail. The jacket makes me happy. The jacket also is the same color as this week's Play Date Cafe color challenge, humm... my little brain went tick, tick, tick. Well, if I take a photo of the jacket, I can enter it in Flourish's "Picture It" challenge. And if I use circles I can enter it in CAS Challenge. And then I can make a cool card to send my sister for the jacket, awesome!

Father's Day card

I'm getting good at multi-tasking over here (years of being a mother perhaps?). Above is the card I made with my new stamps from W Plus designs. The sketch is from the Caardvarks Blog and the theme is from Flourish's blog "make it manly" contest.
