Get Well Soon

Kim's Off the Wall Craftiness colors are fun, look Kim, I'm warming up to your pink world! My thought process was something along the lines of the pink high heel in the photo and the flowers... Sentimental Sundays is having a CAS week (plus a sentiment).

Materials: PTI Daily Designs Gumboot, PTI Mailbox Greetings sentiment, Stampin Up inks, Fiskars free hand cutter, Fiskars Circle punch, vellum, American Crafts ribbon

3 pink butterflies

I was inspired by Karen and Maile's stunning cards for the current Glimmer Challenge. The theme is to use the above photo and one tool/supply that you have that you have not used before. I thought that worked well with the current Papertrey Paper Dolls Challenge, which is a stamp that's never been used and a product that is brand new. So I pulled out one of the PTI Daily Design circles that I haven't used (and punched out the center) and b/c the Glimmer Challenge prize is a $20 W Plus 9 gift certificate I pulled out my Woodgrain Silhouette set and used the sentiment, that I'd also never inked before. The green polka dot button is my embellishment that's new. Sentimental Sundays challenge this week is words to inspire and I think this sentiment really fits that theme. Simon Says Stamp Challenge is paper piercing and I love the way the butterflies look cut out and flying away.

Materials: PTI Daily Design circles, Stampin Up circle punch, W Plus 9 Woodgrain Silhouette butterfly and sentiment, pink twine, green polka dot button, Studio G pink ink, Stampin Up black ink

Just a note

I made this card for this week's Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge and I'm excited that I got to use a WMS sentiment too- thanks for my lovely blogging friend Giesle for sharing some of her stamped goodies with me. Sentimental Sundays is having a challenge to use ribbon (or lace which I don't have any of) with a sentiment card, so here's a card for that challenge. Jenny's Wee Memories challenge this week is buttons/brads/bling and I've got 2 black brads on here, so here's another card for her challenge. Fab 'n Funky is having a "flower power" week and I love that this card has just a small touch of purple flowers, it's not the main theme, but it certainly adds to the card. Which reminds me that Tiffany Doodles is doing flowers all month long, I'm sure those lovely ladies are sick of me by now. And Mark's Finest Papers Speedy Cat challenge this week is also flowers. Wow, I'm not sure I've entered one card is so many challenges before?

I made a comment on my Congrats cards yesterday that I used some paper from my stash that I got given when my first son was born. I'd like to comment that today's card uses some patterned paper that my mother gave me when my second son was born. She put up 6 sheets of black and white 12 x 12 sheets above his change table to give him that newborn B&W stimulation. He's now 2 1/2 years old, so I'm happy to report that I'm using up more fun paper that was given for the birth of a child.

There are a number of blogging fun prizes out there that I want to mention. If you're looking for the Lawn Fawn Cards for Kids blog hop, scroll down. Prizes for comments, so please feel free to leave some love and hop along and perhaps you'll be the lucky winner? Jenny's Wee Memories is giving away some blog candy for reaching 400 followers, so click here to go check out her fun giveaway. Vicki at All I Do Is Stamp is giving away some blog candy, click here to see her goodies. Crafty Girl Designs is giving away a cute Hero Arts cling stamp. Anita is giving away a whole bunch of goodies for hitting 200 followers. Simone is giving away a huge pile of goodies. Margie's blog, Oh Bumble is Me, is turning 2 and she's got a nice blog candy prize. Did I forget any?

Materials: Waltzingmouse Stamps sentiment, Gina K Designs Lovely Labels, purple ribbon from stash, patterned paper from stash, black brads from stash, Versafine black ink, Stampin Up oval scallop punch, black card stock

Retro Tulip Sympathy Card

365 Cards has this lovely photo as their Ad Inspired challenge and I immediately thought of the Jane Beljio Retro Tulip. I printed the digital tulip on a fun dandelion poem that my blogging friend Karen created. Originally I was thinking I'd do something black and white like the photo (b/c I have literal issues), but when I went to see what the current Squigglefly Challenge was it was for brown & cream sympathy card, since I already had cream going, I figured I'd work some brown into it. Tiffany Doodles is celebrating flowers all month long, so I'll add this to their current challenge. Sentimental Sundays is having an anything goes week, so here's another card for that challenge.

Materials: Jane Beljio Digital Retro Tulips, PTI sentiment, Karen Baker digital dandelion poem background, Stampin Up Chocolate Chip Designer papers, Fiskars tag punch, cream twine, Stampin Up black ink, Stampin Up green watercolor pencils and blender pen

Birthday Wishes

This week's Cas-tastic Wednesday challenge was to CASE one of the design team's cards. I already did a fun one based on Agata's card, click here to see that. But since I've become blogging pals with Karen (okay, I admit it, I'm cyber stalking her, but she's too friendly to tell me to get a life!), I wanted to do another entry for the challenge based on her lovely birthday card. And while I'm making a birthday card, I'll enter it in this week's Party Time Tuesday & Crafty Cardmakers "anything goes" birthday challenge. Tiffany's Doodles challenge this month is flowers and Sentimental Sundays is having an "anything goes" challenge this week. Simon Says Stamps is doing songs and I think this one makes me sing "Happy Birthday to you, Happy Birthday to you..."

Materials: Stampin Up flower stamp, PTI sentiment, Stampin Up Rose red ink, Stampin Up watercolor pencils and blender pen, cream brad

Potato Optional

I think it's pretty obvious that I just love CAS cards... I think this one could use a little bit more, but I made it for Susan's One Layer Wednesday challenge (square with a outline stamp). I'm open to suggestions on how to dress up a one layer card, I tried a few other ideas (which might become another card a bit later), but didn't find anything that stayed true to the challenge theme. Since Susan is on the Mark's Finest Papers DT I thought I'd make a masculine card for their Speedy Cat Challenge at the same time. I think kraft works so well for a guy card. Sentimental Sunday's is asking for something funny and I think this sentiment is great, makes me laugh.

Materials: PTI couch and sentiment, PTI kraft, Stampin Up black ink, cheap black marker, Corner rounder

Sympathy card

I was inspired by Karen's lovely card and was trying to make a card for my friend who's cat recently passed away. Stacey's Curtain Call colors are a nice neutral set this week. But after I made it I thought it was kinda a guy card- something I don't make nearly enough of. So I think I'll enter it in this week's Sentimental Sunday's "for guys/plus sentiment" challenge.

Materials: Stampin Up sentiment, Stampin Up background stamp, Stampin Up black ink, Versamark, Stampin Up Certainly Celery card stock, misc. kraft colored art paper, green card stock scrap, Fiskars scallop rotary cutter, Stampin Up ribbon, corner rounder

3 little houses- congrats on your new home

I love making cards. And I'm so thankful there's such a great little community out there of people who are just like me. You guys understand when I say that I just love making cards. Clean, simple cards like this one make me smile. The colors are from Color Throwdown, way to go on one heck of a 100th party last week. Well done ladies. Can't wait to see the list of party favors. The card uses a clear sentiment so it works for Sentimental Sundays (and the digital sentiment was free from their site, click here), I'm such a sucker for vellum, use it all the time. Cas-tastic Wednesday is having a SIMPLE week and I've used printed image, inked edges and paper piercing. Moxie Fab World is celebrating card styles and I'm a clean and graphic kinda girl, so let's add this to their current challenge. And lastly Pile It On is challenging us to use Christmas materials/colors/stamps for non-Christmas cards and I've used a piece of Anna Griffin Christmas paper for the kraft colored house.

Materials: Kathy Martin digital houses, Echo Raindrop digital sentiment, vellum, Making Memories black eyelet, Fiskars rotary scallop punch, Anna Griffin kraft patterned paper, Stampin Up Kiwi Bliss & Baja Breeze designer paper, Stampin Up black ink for inked edges

Emerson quote card

This very simple card is a combination of the Sentimental Sunday challenge for encouragement & support (with their freebie sentiment of the week) and 365 Cards challenge to use three shades of green. I also used another recycled envelope, so I'll put this in the Cute Card Thursday challenge to recycle.

Materials: art paper scraps, used envelope, Kimberly's digital sentiment

Cleaning your house...

I always love when the stars line up. I saw the sketch on the Stampendous Blog and thought that looks like fun. I don't have a lot of Stampendous stamps, and their challenge requires that you use on of their stamps. Well I went looking and found this snowflake stamp. I thought, perfect, I'll make another Cleaning Your House card... turns out the sentiment is a Stampendous stamp too! I had no idea.

I'm also entering this in the Sentimental Sundays challenge for favorite sentiment, because this one really sums up my world to a tee.

And then... I woke up this morning to snow. And of course a messy house (see extra photo below, no I didn't dump out the legos and duplo just for the photo).

Materials: Stampendous snowflake and sentiment, blue card stock, white ink, vellum, white card stock, snow flake eyelets

play Date Cafe Challenge PDCC32- thank you card

A simple thank you card for Sentimental Sundays using this week's Play Date Cafe colors. Not my colors, but at least I didn't struggle with them as much as last week's! It's always good to have extra thank you cards in the stash.

Materials: Hero Arts stamp, card stock, Stampin Up designer paper, scallop cutter

Sending warm thoughts your way

I saw this Paper Crafts sketch awhile ago and loved the simplicity of it. I made another card with the sketch in mind for my sister. I thought the vellum was a nice touch to tone down the busy Cosmo Cricket papers (which I love). This card is for the Paper Crafts contest and the Papertrey Pals contest that challenged me to cut some of my beautiful patterned paper and Sentimental Sundays.
