hi tag snowflake. This week's PTI Make it Monday is to make your own foam stickers and I have to admit that I sorted cheated. I die cut out the letters with the PTI alphabet die, but I used a piece of glitter foam paper... and then added some adhesive to the back. It's hard to tell with this photo, but I used a nice thick piece of vellum for the tag and added a doily to the back (it has a fun added texture) and then added the WMS snowflake die, a Studio Calico heart, some glitter tape and a piece of May Arts ribbon to the tag. I'm also going to enter it in Virginia's View Clean Slate challenge, white on white. I hope everyone had a good weekend, I got to sneak away, click here for some fun campground research we did in Santa Barbara. And I'm excited because I'm hosting a blogging meet up tonight, can't wait to meet other locals who are as passionate about blogging as I am.

fox tag
Happy Tuesday friends. Okay, so I can't help myself, having way too much playing along with the Ellen Hutson 12 Tags of Christmas with a Feminine Twist, today's inspiration is the talented Sandy's fun tag. I am totally going to use the embossing paste with glitter trick... For my tag I heat embossed the white trees from the Avacado Arts Bring on the Holiday Cheer set (don't have a stencil), added some embossing paste with a bit of glitter to the bottom. Then I used some distress inks to copy her background (and great to play along with Virginia's View new challenge "Distress It"). And then I added some snowflakes out of embossing paste to the top, added the super cute Lawn Fawn fox and added some May Arts ribbon to the tag. No sentiment, but that's okay. Okay, better get my work day started...

let is snow
So... my normally Monday morning is to play along with the PTI Make It Monday, but guess what-- the challenge isn't up yet... so what's a challenge happy girl to do? Make a tag! Part of my inspiration is from last week's May Arts/Core inspiration week, so I had this Coredinations red tag and I added some embossing paste, some PTI snowflakes and snow die cut (with silver embossing powder) and added a Lawn Fawn snowman (I heat embossed the snowman onto a piece of vellum that has the Hero Arts friendship background digital stamp). I added some MFT vellum snow die cuts and added one of my favorite holiday ribbons, the May Arts 2 1/2 inch printed cotton blend and a bow with burlap string. I've really been enjoying Tracey's 25 Tags of Christmas. I'll add this to Virginia's View since I used silver embossing powder for her "All Things Metallic".

tags
I love making tags. Here are a few that I started within the last week and finally managed to finish tonight. The top one uses the Hero Arts background stamp (embossed in gold), so I could play along with the HA Tag challenge and Virginia's View "All Things Metallic".
This tag uses the Fusion Challenge inspiration photo. I added the Hero Arts flower in vellum, Lawn Fawn tag die and stamp, PTI happy die cut and SRM sticker, plus some water colours.
And finally I wanted to use a snowman... I've got the Lawn Fawn snowman, PTI tag and banner die, MFT snow die cuts and May Arts ribbons. I added some embossing folder and some embossing paste (and some cream snowflakes you can barely see) to the background. Addicted to CAS is having a tag challenge.

home sweet home tag
A cute little tag inspired by a rejected part from yesterday's project and the fact that the two PTI sets I used from yesterday are sitting in the exact same spot on my messy desk. The cute little trailer stamp is from Rubbermoon. I've added a piece of May Arts silk to the top, a bit of distress ink, embossing powder and some water color pencils, CAS, perfect for Virginia's View. Love making tags… I've got a whole Pinterest board of my projects, click here.

this girl runs on coffee
So I often craft in the early early hours of the day, and perhaps my obsession with coffee crafting items is that more often then not I've got a cup of coffee with me. So I saw ~amy~'s card this morning and knew I had use my new Verve goodies. I'm using the Viva La Verve Sketch and some patterned for Virginia's View. But, funny, I didn't have any coffee while making this card :) But my day was definitely fueled by coffee. And my decorated coffee bag below is for the CASE Study Challenge, I up cycled a piece of letterpress for the coffee cup, added some May Arts ribbon to the tag, Lawn Fawn sentiment and wrapped the bag of Fable Coffee with some May Arts burlap. And now… I'm tired.

Happy Fall
Happy Fall! My next card making class at Ben Franklin is Wednesday, October 1st and we're going to make some fall cards, so I made these two cards with some of the new Lawn Fawn goodies. The top card was inspired by Heather's card and the current Curtain Call inspiration challenge., but I added a piece of May Arts ribbon to the background. And my second card uses a bunch of DCWV Halloween paper, Ghosts & Goblins, trying to break out and do something different, partially inspired by Virginia's View challenge. I've used the Lawn Fawn monster and tag dies, plus more May Arts ribbon :) Happy Saturday, I'm off to a wine tasting event, photos will be up on my work blog a bit later.

coffee tag
Coffee tag... so this week's PTI Make it Monday is to use baby wipes to create your own ink pad with ink refills and I only have one color (how is that possible?). (And yes, I was thrown off by the delay in the posting of the challenge, so please forgive me for being tardy, I missed my crafting window). So I tried the technique and added some distress stains to the baby wipe and got this lovely coffee cup, it has a nice gradient feel. After stamping the coffee cup one, I did it again with the outline stamp and then fussy cut it out (b/c I spent a good 10 minutes looking for the die and couldn't find it). I had this colorful chevron background floating around from my stash raid for Virginia's View challenge and thought it would work well with the tie-dye feel from the challenge. To finish off the tag I used the PTI newspaper print and PTI Latte Love coffee stamp and added 3 different types of May Arts ribbon. Hope everyone had a lovely day... I'm still wondering when I'm going to finish my to do list (considering I made this project 16 hours ago and I'm just now posting it at the end of my day). Tomorrow, that's the answer....

Tag
Happy Sunday crafty peeps! I'm playing along with Virginia's View "Tags and Scrapplings" challenge, you already know I like making tags and like any good crafter, I can't throw anything away... so the only thing I cut out for this challenge was the tag-- but I used one of my glorious recycled letterpress wedding invitations (which is a nice thick weight and perfect for the crafter's treatment of water color, mist and clear embossing paste). The rest of the pieces were in my drawer for another occasion... I even used a piece of May Arts chevron twill that was already cut to this length (we wont talk about that drawer of scraps). And I leave you with a parting photo of our trip to the coast, which was delightful and chilly (and now we're home and it's very warm).

Stencil Cards
So I'm teaching another class at my local Ben Franklin next month, Wednesday May 6th, 6-7:30pm and I wanted to play with stencils, as I'm in awe of all the amazing options I keep seeing around blogworld. So I've used some stencils, embosing paste and embossing powder and played. The first card also works for this week's PTI Make It Monday (die cuts with heat embossing, love the way the hello looks with gold embossing powder). I'm also going to add these cards to Virgina's View Challenge. If you're interested in taking the class please call Ben Franklin, 530) 273-1348 and sign up.

let's chat wine bottle
We all know I love making wine bottle tags... today's card was motivated by a box of recycled letterpress pieces from Full Circle Press, I used part of a wedding invitation for the tag and then stamped the Paper Smooches chair on the blank side of the heavy cardstock. I added some embossing paste to the tag, using the PTI coverplate as a stencil (super excited about Virgina's View new Stencil challenge, so many options). And Paper Smooches is having an anything goes challenge this week. It's hard to tell, but take my word that I used 6 different May Arts ribbon on this project (two colors of faux canvas, burlap string, 4 inch burlap, 3 inch sheer and burlap stripe ribbon).

follow your dreams wine glass tag
Friends... normally I like to play along with the PTI Make It Monday when it goes live (b/c I'm silly and have somehow think that's the best use of my time on Monday mornings). This past week I tried to play along and didn't like what I made, so I opted out- which was noticed (thanks Jen). So I've been thinking, "Oh I'll play along with PTI and Wplus9 when I get a chance before their deadlines" and then have had one of those days (let's just say the tree that fell on the line, that led to a down power line and blown transformer started my day at 5am and when the power went back on at 3:30pm I still had that many loads of laundry to do at work, and then the power went off again at 7:20... but 9pm, we're back on, hopefully my guests are happy, I've drank the wine I deserved and.... I'm going to make the PTI deadline). I used the tutorial pinned by my friend ~amy~ which used mists and water color papers for this wine glass tag. I tied the PTI tag onto the wine glass with May Arts sheer with tinsel edge ribbon. And now my friends, my day is official done.... tomorrow will be better, right? And how exciting that Virginia has a new challenge, this one works perfectly for Virginia's View Challenge #1, watercoloring.
