3 CAS cards

Greetings blog land.  I made these three cards this morning, all inspired by the clean & simple sketch (although I never actually put the sentiment in the right place!)  They're all similiar, but just a tad different, which is truly the only way I'd be able to mass produce anything.  

This one uses May Arts satin pleats on the side.

This one use Waltzingmouse Stamps Very Vintage #1 for the dots (it's part of a tag stamp).

And this one uses buttons and the CR84FN colors.  Simon Says Stamps Challenge is having an anything goes challenge this week, so love this die...

 

It's been an eventful day in my little world-- the creek that runs through my business flooded.  Thankfully it didn't rise high enough to damage any rooms, but it was very scary.  For photos of the flood and afterwards click here.  So thankful for those who came out in the pouring rain to help.

Susan's Simplicity One Layer Wednesday Challenge is Unexpected Colors, make a one layer card with colors you wouldn't expect. I thought a Valentine's Day card w/o pink and red would be fun, so I went for this week's ColourQ colors (pin, green, brown, turquoise). City Crafter is having a "I left my heart in San Francisco" challenge this week, use a heart. I've used the clean and simple sketch. Happily Ever Crafter is having a one layer challenge for the month of August, so I'll enter this card in the challenge too. Normally my one layer cards take me several attempts, and this week was no exception, I have been having some serious inky finger issues, and those are very difficult to hide on a one layer card, so don't be surprised if you see a very similar looking heart on another card down the road, I've got a small stack of them.

2 Coffee Cups

Love that ColourQ colors are the same colors as a previous Moxie Fab World Tuesday Trigger. I made this card for that challenge. This time around I've decided to work with coffee cups (surprise, surprise). But I wanted to keep the same idea of the flowers (there's that literal part of me at work again). The lay out is similar to the clean and simple layout 99, minus the sentiment.

Celebrate

A CAS card using the ColourQ colors and the clean and simple layout. I used a piece of ribbon for the sentiment and I like it, but I think it looks a little lonely, maybe I needed a thicker piece of ribbon? It says "celebrate" on it.

Purple butterflies

I sold a couple of cards to a friend and I wanted to send her this card and for whatever reason I can't find it. So I remade the card, using different colors from this week's Etsy Inspired Challenge. I've used the clean and simple layout #97 from the other week.

This card uses the Off the Wall Craftiness colors and the clean and simple sketch, with W Plus 9 stamps (and a Hero Arts background stamped in versamark). I can't believe how much teal I have used in the last month. I seriously almost gave away some of the card stock I had in my tub, because I was left with all the colors I didn't really like. And yet here's another card challenge that makes me work outside my normal range-- and guess what, I like the card! They're not my colors, but I think the card works. I normally prefer more white, but I think I can live with this oh-so-teal card. Sorry Kim that my yellow is more yellow then tangerine, I can see that you've done a very good job of trying to identify the colors on your challenge, I was thinking of your colors, so does that count?

I can't believe I made a one layer card that wasn't part of a contest. I struggled with Susan's one layer challenge this week and then I go about putting this one together as a one layer card kinda on accident. I used the clean and simple layout and Kim's Off the Wall Craftiness colors/theme. Kim-- we tried to find the right color raspberry fizz, but didn't find quite the right shade. I ended up using a Stampin up red (can't remember which one, one of the spots!), so I tried...

Winter Wonderland

Daring Cardmakers is hosting a winter themed challenge this week and I thought that was a nice change from all these summer contests! (It helps that I've been skiing for the first time this winter and it's very, very cold in my little winter world). The sketch is from clean & simple stamping. I stamped the snowflakes on white card stock and vellum which works for the Character Cafe challenge with vellum.

Cowboy Boot Celebration

This bright and colorful card is in honor of my lovely paper loving friend Kayle. She has just finished chemo for breast cancer and has used cowboy boots as her symbol for kicking cancer. Kayle, we're celebrating the day that you're cancer free! Rock on.

The sketch is from clean and simple.

A very clean and simple card for this week's clean & simple sketch using the colors from Kim's Off the Wall Craftiness challenge.

clean and Simple- FTL 91

I have been meaning to use these flowers for awhile and the sketch for clean & simple seemed liked the perfect excuse. In the end I feel like I stay fairly close to the sketch... might need to branch out a bit more next time.

Materials used: Stampin Up flower, brown card stock, brown Stampin Up paper. "Hello" part of a Hero Arts greetings. Small circle punch and small tag punch.

Clean and Simple- FTL 90

This week's sketch on Clean and Simple didn't sing to me at first, but somewhere in the back of my brain I kept thinking about it. Then I saw someone else you string on a card and thought "perfect" for the ribbon on this sketch. Here's my very simple Thinking of you card. Materials: Hero Arts butterfly, Hero Arts message, pink string, red & pink ink.
