3 CAS cards

Greetings blog land.  I made these three cards this morning, all inspired by the clean & simple sketch (although I never actually put the sentiment in the right place!)  They're all similiar, but just a tad different, which is truly the only way I'd be able to mass produce anything.

This one uses May Arts satin pleats on the side.

This one use Waltzingmouse Stamps Very Vintage #1 for the dots (it's part of a tag stamp).

And this one uses buttons and the CR84FN colors.  Simon Says Stamps Challenge is having an anything goes challenge this week, so love this die...

It's been an eventful day in my little world-- the creek that runs through my business flooded.  Thankfully it didn't rise high enough to damage any rooms, but it was very scary.  For photos of the flood and afterwards click here.  So thankful for those who came out in the pouring rain to help.

Materials: Simon Says Stamps Fresh Daisy die, WPlus9 Defining Words, WPlus9 Folk Art Florals, water color pencils, glitter pen, PTI kraft and cream card stock, Bazzill basics black card stock, DCWV gray card stock, buttons, May Arts satin pleats ribbon, Waltzingmouse Very Vintage Labels #1, Lil Inker Stitched Mats, Fiskars corner rounder punch, Versafine black ink, Fresh Ink gray ink

Happy Birthday

Welcome to another 365 Cards Super Sketchy Sunday, Wendi has designed this week's sketch.  I took the tree and turned it into a present, as I'm still working on a few more cards for a card order and need a few birthday cards.  I used the current CR84FN colors for my card.  Can you tell I'm loving my new 'Lil Inker stitched mat dies?   Check out the rest of the DT and see how they've been inspired:

And a bonus birthday card for my card order....

coffee and food

Hello!  I have a few projects to share, so grab a coffee and enjoy these coffee/food creations (all I'm missing in a wine label and I'd have all my favorite themes covered, oh well there's always tomorrow right?).  First up... a coffee card for the Verve Anni-VERVE-sary CAS card challenge

I also wanted to play along with the Verve Anything But a Card challenge, so I made a handy gift card holder.  I used the CR84FN colors.

Next up, I couldn't wait to get inky with the new PTI Foodie Fun set (I mean really, how could I resist??).  I used this week's ColourQ colors, although I guess my turquoise is a bit greener then it should be... I tried.

And this fabulous card I think works well for the new Young Crafters Unite Challenge, "trends", I'm loving the hexagon trend.

And lastly... the other day I shared a superhero sighting in my oh-so-messy craft room, but I had to tell you that I've got a different creature and look... the floor, the desk... and you can't see in this photo-- but the pile in front of the closet-- GONE!  Any guesses on who's he's dressed as today?  Jinny was the only one to get the right guess on Monday.

Right... well done, you made it to the end... forget coffee, I'm off to reward myself with a glass of wine.

Laundry wine label

Hello!  I'm not sure what I've been up to the last couple of days, but all that time I thought I'd spend playing in my craft room obviously got absorbed doing something else.  So today's wine label is a loose take on the Paper Smooches Sparks sketch (I put my sentiment in the wrong spot ladies) and a minimiual use of the CR84FN colors (kraft counts as a neutral right?).  I'm taking a couple of days off this month and I thought it'd be nice to bribe my manager with a bottle of wine for all the extra motel laundry she's going to have to do while I'm away.  This time of the year it's not uncommon to do 25 loads in a day.   And since I've stamped a thank you "card" I'm going to enter it in the Moxie Fab World "Stamp It" challenge (a lot of my wine labels I just write on the back, so it is a card, in a non-traditional sense).

Materials: Paper Smooches Squeaky Clean and Geo-Graphic, My Favorite Things Let's Toast sentiment, PTI notebook die, PTI 2 1/2 inch limitless layers circle die,  PTI Edgers die, Versafine black ink, PTI kraft, black card stock, Bazzil yellow and red card stock, Tattered Angels black mist, EK Success 1 3/4th inch circle punch, Fiskars corner rounder,  white gel pen, colored pencil

Happy Birthday Friend and another coffee card

I'll be brief as I'm about to head out for the afternoon.  Two cards using this week's Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge.  Love taking a sketch and make a one-layer card, I feel like it's an extra challenge.  The second card uses more of the same pieces as my earlier cards this week.  But-- drum roll-- I actually cleaned my desk, something that happens once in a blue moon.  So the other left over pieces have all been tidied up, so I guess I'll have to move onto another trend.

And since I used the same pieces this card also works for the CR84FN challenge, I know, it's very similar to the other card, but if it's working why not stick with it?

Materials: Hero Arts Newspaper Tullips, HA Friend (can't remember which set), Waltzingmouse Frame It sentiment, PTI kraft card stock, Twinery twine, Martha Stewart score pal, Tim Holtz distress inks shabby shutters and festive berries, Versafine black ink

Fancy a Cuppa: Waltzingmouse Frame It sentiment, PTI Warm Happiness Too stamp and die, Lifestyle Crafts letterpress, Authentique Blissful paper, PTI kraft and white caard stock, Versafine black ink

Coffee Collection

There's a coffee party on my blog today.  It's no secret that I love making coffee cards and if you saw Tuesday's card you'll see that I was playing with my new letterpress tools, so I inked up a few more and die cut out a few more coffee cups and then left them to percolate on my messy desk for a few days.

I decorated a Carolines Coffee Roasters coffee bag with a fun tag that uses this week's PTI Make It Monday technique.

Next up I used this week's Play Date Cafe colors.

This card uses this week's Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge.  Thank you so much guys for selecting my card from last week's challenge as a Top 3 Mouse, I was truly tickled.

And this one is basically a redo of the card from Tuesday, just with Authentique Blissful paper and some PTI kraft ribbon tabs.  It uses the CR84FN colors.

Letterpress Cards

Hello.  So the fabulous ~amy~ tempted me with her unused Lifestyle Crafts Letterpress and I couldn't say no.  I've done a lot of fun things with the faux letterpress technique (click here for a tutorial I did for Do More With Less)... but girls... I'm in trouble-- the real letterpress technique makes me giddy.  This card is for the Moxie Fab World "Winter Blues" challenge.

Some friends just had a baby boy-- so why not send them a non-blue card?  I used this week's CR84FN colors.  I've done a loose take on the Authentique sketch and I'm just sneaking in this with a tiny bit of time to spare.

And this my friends would be the DH's card for our friends' new baby.  I'm sharing this for Emily who often talks about her husband's crafting and I've told mine that he should make me a card from time to time and he always declines.  Well, my new tool had him intrigued.  I have a feeling you'll be seeing more of my new letterpress...

Materials: PTI Warm Happiness Too stamp and die, Life Style Crafts letterpress, Authentique gathering patterened paper,  black card stockstock, Versafine black ink, Life Style letterpress ink silver and black, PTI white card stock

Congratulations: Lifestyle Crafts letterpress,  Authentique patterened paper, PTI kraft card stock, Coredinations card stock

You Make Me Happy Every Day

Happy Saturday!  Winter has finally arrived in California and while I love sunshine, I'm excited about the rain and snow (for now).  Today's card was inspired by a few challenges (Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge, Lawnscaping winter theme and CR84FN colors).  And since Mr. Ben didn't win last week's WMS sketch random draw he wanted to play again.  So below is his take on the sketch with "his" WMS half pint heroes set.

Materials: Making Frost Friends, Waltzingmouse Very Vintage Frames #1, Waltzingmouse Half Pint Heroes sentiment, PTI snowflake impression plate, vellum, PTI white card stock, Stampendous silver and clear embossing powder, Versafine black ink, silver ink, Spellbinders Label 1 die, PTI double sided banner die, Authentique Blissful patterened paper, pink scraps, colored pencil

Ben's Card: Waltzingmouse Stamps Half Pint Heroes,  Card stock from scraps, PTI Photo Finishers die, Hero Arts kids red ink
