Happy Thanksgiving!!!  I just went on this amazing vacation to Barcelona, so I'm a tad behind on all things crafty.... but if you know me, I love to jump right back in to get my creative time.  My first card pairs the MFT sketch with Color Throwdown cards (it's hard to see but the ball on the hat is blue).  Wishing everyone a fabulous holiday!

Book Plate Cards

I had to get a number of cards done for one of my favorite card buyers, and since she was in town to join me on a fabulous fall walk event my deadline was this morning.  I've made a number of these cute book plate cards before (click here, here) and she liked them so much she wanted a set.  So I used a few different color challenges to help inspire me to make up a number of them.  I let her choose the sentiments, which was a fun little was to personalize the cards.

These ones use the Play Date Cafe colors, happy 2nd anniversary guys!  Since I missed last week's PDC (eek, how can that be!) I decided to make up for it this week, this being my 2nd entry. 

These two use this week's ColourQ (oops, missed the deadline) and Color Throwdown colors.  Love the idea of taking Halloween colors and making non Halloween cards.

And this one is for the Embellish challenge, I hid a button under the sentiment. And since I colored in all the vases I'm going to add this to the CAS-ual Fridays "Just add color" challenge.  And since Wee Memories is having a "Free for all" challenge this week I'll add this to their challenge too.

This week's Color Throwdown are great, I have to admit that I was especially inspired by this card.  I'm also going to enter this in the Hero Arts month long birthday challenge.  It's nice to have a birthday card that could work for a guy or a gal.  There's still time to enter my little giveaway on yesterday's card.

This week's Color Throwdown colors are definitely my kind of colors. I decided to use the fun KAH-Wink-E-Dink Digi hot air balloon image that I won as a prize for winning last week's challenge. Their challenge this week is travel, so why not fly away in a hot air balloon? I've used the Card Positioning sketch as a starting point, although I realized after I'd finished the card that I didn't quite line things up right (see there's that literal part of me again!).

I've used this week's Color Throwdown colors and the SRM Stickers sketch for this CAS hello card. I put the card together last night and didn't like it. This afternoon I've taken it apart and tried again. I'm not sure I love the card, but the second round is better then the first. Which makes me regret the fact that I didn't take a photo of the first one for the 365 cards re-do challenge. The flower and green button are compliments of Unscripted Sketches, thanks to a win for a comment during their Christmas in July fun.

Happy Hellos

A CAS card using the Color Throwdown colors and the clean and simple sketch. Mark's Finest Papers Speedy Cat challenge this week is flowers and Tiffany Doodles is also celebrating flowers this month.

keep cool

The Lawn Fawn Swimsuit Season set is just too much fun. I love the irony of the fact that I've made a summer card with a sentiment that says "keep cool" and there's a snow storm out my window. I've used the Color Throwdown colors and the Card Patterns sketch (even though I've left out a few details parts of it, I've used the basic outline).

what's perking?

I think all you lovely blog happy card obsessed folks out there are awesome. I've been doing the happy dance for several days now- first from the package of stamps I bought myself and then from smaller goodies- like this Hero Arts What's Perking set from my blogging pal Karen. Many thanks for the goodies, I love that you're willing to share you blog candy with me, your coffee card making over sharing card obsessed friend. It all just makes me smile. Right, back to the card. I tried to use the Color Throwdown colors, please forgive the ribbon shades lovely ladies, now I if only I had a Stampin Up rep in my lady to upsell me on all sorts of color coordinating ribbon I would've been set.... 365 Cards has the challenge to use ribbon as a background and I thought a little square of it would be a fun textured backdrop for the coffee pot. Hero Arts is having a July food challenge, so very excited to add this to their flickr album.

3 little houses- congrats on your new home

I love making cards. And I'm so thankful there's such a great little community out there of people who are just like me. You guys understand when I say that I just love making cards. Clean, simple cards like this one make me smile. The colors are from Color Throwdown, way to go on one heck of a 100th party last week. Well done ladies. Can't wait to see the list of party favors. The card uses a clear sentiment so it works for Sentimental Sundays (and the digital sentiment was free from their site, click here), I'm such a sucker for vellum, use it all the time. Cas-tastic Wednesday is having a SIMPLE week and I've used printed image, inked edges and paper piercing. Moxie Fab World is celebrating card styles and I'm a clean and graphic kinda girl, so let's add this to their current challenge. And lastly Pile It On is challenging us to use Christmas materials/colors/stamps for non-Christmas cards and I've used a piece of Anna Griffin Christmas paper for the kraft colored house.

A colorful cupcake thank you card. I'm using the Mojo Monday sketch and the fabulous Color Throwdown 100th colors (check out their blog for some seriously amazing prizes). I'm not sure why I'm posting this card, b/c I'm not really that much of a fan. But I keep trying these color challenges and sometimes they surprise. And I'm also learning that something that I don't really like might be just the right card for someone else. So, I guess I'm posting this card b/c someone else might think it's perfect. I've used this week's Color Throwdown colors and used a freebie digital sentiment from Sentimental Sundays, which makes it work for Just Us Girls digital challenge.

Yet another coffee card

This week's colors on Color Throwdown (#96) and I've made a very simple coffee card. I have so many coffee cards and the funny thing is that I keep making them. But hey, at least this one isn't brown like the rest of the week's coffee cards!
