A CAS one layer card, really need to pack my lunch for work, but Karen reminded me that there's only one more day to play along with this month's Artful Delight sketch challenge and as a past DT member I can tell you that winning a card kit would be fabulous!  At least we know my lunch will have cookies....  And the Only One Layer Wednesday Challenge is to use one stamp to create a background...

Hello happy camper!  My boys are back!  They've just spent the last 3 weeks on a road trip with our vintage camping trailer and they're finally home, I missed them so!  When I saw this week's One Layer Wednesday challenge "In the Kitchen" I knew exactly what I should use, my fun happy camper coffee mug.  (You can see some photos of the mug in use in a guest blog post I wrote here).  Because my Unity trailer was the perfect fit I'm going to play along with Friends with Flair.  TGIF!

Wine Labels

I made this wine label the other day while demonstrating to a friend my new letterpress and her daughter was so taken with it I sent it home with them as a keepsake.  But, it works perfectly for this week's One Layer Wednesday challenge of "Cream, Black and Bling".  Less Is More is doing netural CAS cards this week and I think this label fits in perfectly with that challenge.

This label is for the Young Crafters Unite challenge to make a clear card.  I didn't have any acetate, so I used vellum to make this wine label.  It's not totally clear...  but hopefully you ladies will work with me :) Simon Says Stamp is having an anything goes week, so either of these would work well for that challenge.

7th birthday, thank you set and a gift tag

This 7th birthday card was commissioned, I sent the client a link to this card and when I went to recreate it I ended up with the card above...  so much for CASEing myself.  I used the Embellish colors for their current challenge "use banners".  Paper Issues is having a number challenge and this cute card is perfect for that challenge.

I have to mail 7 of these little boxes to my nieces and nephews and I thought it would be fun to make tags with a photo on them (b/c I seriously have no time to do these sort of things!).  I used a Waltzingmouse Stamp on the back for their holiday tag challenge.  And since I've used a bit of twine I'm going to enter it in the Ribbon Carousel challenge.

And last but not least, I'm still trying to mass produce for Christmas gifts, so I've made another card set using the new Hero Arts newspaper tulip stamp.  Susan's One Layer Wednesday challenge this week is about something peaceful, and I love the idea of sitting in the grass looking at flowers....

So yesterday I posted 2 cute little tags and obviously I had them on my mind because I sat down last night and made 5 more.  And being the challenge happy girl that I am a few of them work for a few challenges.

This tag uses some more of the burlap I got from the local coffee shop, so I'll add it to the Lily Pad Cards texture challenge.

This one uses the Hero Arts "Write Your Own Cling" so it'll work for the HA month long holiday wrap/tag challenge.

This one will work for Just Add Ink's "Tag or Bookmark Challenge".

This one uses the Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge.

This one uses the WPlus9 set I won last month and since it's only one layer I'm going to enter it in the "One Layer Wednesday" tag challenge.  And since the Ribbon Carousel is having an anything goes challenge any of these tags would work with their May Arts burlap string.

Unity Fall card set

So I've been slowly working on a fall card order, but my inspiration works in funny ways, so I haven't been staying on track.  But, since it's Friday I thought I'd pull out some Unity Stamps for Friends with Flair and see what I could make in the fall themed department.  I actually started with the bookmark because I wanted to play with the All Things Unity "One Layer" challenge and it's been awhile since I play with Susan's One Layer Wednesday challenge, her challenge is to find inspiration on Janelle's blog and I loved her post with all these fabulous bookmarks.  But I liked the bookmark so much that I made a card :)  I thought the card would work well for the current Unity Challenge "Falling Leaves" and the Ippity Challenge "Tie it Up" challenge because I've used some May Arts twine.  Because I splurged the other day and bought the new Tim Holtz fall distress inks I thought I should play along with the CR84FN color challenge (although I promise to use the new purple soon, it's FABULOUS!).  And then I decided to make an envelope, because as you'll see below my younger crafting son decided to decorate his envelope for his card to my grandmother.  When I told him his project would work great for the Young Crafters Unite challenge and that I'd make one too he said, "But you're not young."  Thanks son!  (For those of you who have been to my blog before, Mr. Ben, age 6, LOVES LOVES comments, so please include a shout out for his project, it seriously makes the little guy grin ear to ear).

Happy Anniversary Circles

Since I'm celebrating my blog's one year birthday (and giving away a few goodies) I thought it would be fun to check in with a few of the card challenges I've done a number of times in the last year.  Susan's cards over at Simplicity always sing to me, my CAS style has found a muse!  It's fun to look back at my first One Layer Wednesday card almost exactly a year ago.  This is the my 22nd One Layer Wednesday card, a true feat considering that I find one layer cards difficult.  I'm also entering this card in this week's Moxie Fab World Tuesday Trigger, and over the year I have done 42 different Moxie Fab cards (not so sure about the first one).  I'm also celebrating my wedding anniversary today, 9 years :)  So I gave this card to my hubby.

This week's Moxie Fab World Tuesday Trigger inspired me to celebrate white with a touch of color.   And I was thinking of Susan's One Layer Wednesday Challenge to use a stamp that hasn't seen the light of day in awhile... but now I realize that the card was suppose to say thanks on it, oops.  I did manage to read the fine print on Less is More's off-centered challenge.

While sorting through some boxes I found this card tucked in a long forgotten book. Somehow it must've fallen through the cracks. So in honor of my favorite One Layer Wednesday I'm posting this card, which originally I thought wouldn't work for Susan's challenge. But it turns out that this week's challenge is expressing gratitude towards mothers and if you knew my mother you'd totally understand why bicycles in motion was the perfect card. Thanks Mom, even if you never read this blog and I'm too busy cleaning my house in preparation to move to actually send you this card.

Happy Autumn

Susan's One Layer Wednesday is about trees and you know what, for once, I managed to make a one layer card without wasting 8 pieces of paper. Gotta love great stamps that ink like they're suppose to (thank you Hero Arts). The sentiment is PTI, funny that they'd put autumn instead of fall, being an American company.

Calling All Couches

Here comes the invasion of the couches! I dedicate this post to my blogging pal Jen, who keeps threatening to buy this PTI set, here you go Jen, you can do it. Here's the direct link (yes I am evil, but wait you also need the On My Couch Additions, click here).

I made this card the other night for the ColourQ challenge and I liked it so much that I wanted to make some more cards. (It helps that my husband went out of his way to mention that he liked the other card too, always nice to hear that.) So I thought I'd try a few color challenges with the same card.

This card is for Susan's Simplicity One Layer Wednesday Challenge, the theme was "make a scene". Don't mind the finger prints on this one, they can't all be perfect right?

This one is for The Play Date Cafe. I used the same piece of paper for another card for them this week, so I figured I'd just use my scraps for the couch card.

Susan's Simplicity One Layer Wednesday Challenge is Unexpected Colors, make a one layer card with colors you wouldn't expect. I thought a Valentine's Day card w/o pink and red would be fun, so I went for this week's ColourQ colors (pin, green, brown, turquoise). City Crafter is having a "I left my heart in San Francisco" challenge this week, use a heart. I've used the clean and simple sketch. Happily Ever Crafter is having a one layer challenge for the month of August, so I'll enter this card in the challenge too. Normally my one layer cards take me several attempts, and this week was no exception, I have been having some serious inky finger issues, and those are very difficult to hide on a one layer card, so don't be surprised if you see a very similar looking heart on another card down the road, I've got a small stack of them.
