Happy Father's Day cards

I've been asked for a Father's Day card and I was waiting for inspiration to hit me, so today I used the CR84FN colors and a loose take on this week's Card Positioning System's sketch.  Hero Arts' new challenge is to use water colors and I've used water color pencils to color in the flowers, although if you're looking for a great video check out the one on water color and distress ink.  Simon Says Stamp Challenge is about Father's Day Cards.

The current Etsy Inspired Challenge has a fun shop, and I found this piece of wood and decided to try my inking up the impression plate with a Tim Holtz embossing folder to see how that would turn out, it's not quite the same look, but fun technique... might keep working on it to see how I go.  And since Wee Memories is also doing an Etsy Inspired challenge this week I'll add this to their challenge too (b/c I love May Arts ribbon and would be siked if I could add some to my stash)..

Materials: First card: Hero Arts Three Floral Frames, WPlus9 Woodgrain Silhouette sentiment, Tim Holtz woodgrain embossing folder, Paper Phine twine, Core'dinations yellow card stock, PTI kraft card stock, water color pencils, Bic blue marker, Versafine black ink

Second card: WPlus9 Woodgrain Silhouette sentiment, Tim Holtz woodgrain embossing folder, Tim Holtz zig zag stitch embossing folder border, PTI kraft, Versacolor brown ink, Tim Holtz Distress Ink Aged Mahogany, Versafine black ink, vellum, PTI kraft card stock, Spellbinders Nestabilities Label 8, Twinery Cappuccino twine

Happy Bird-day

A CAS card, using CR84FN's colors, All Things Unity sketch and a bird for the Unity Challenge.  And since Simon Says Stamps is having an anythings goes birthday party, let's add this card to their celebration.  And the red bird inspiration comes from this week's Etsy Inspired Challenge.  Thanks for stopping by to say hi.

Materials: All Things Unity Life is Fabulous bird and sentiment, Unity polka dots and gingham background stamps, Twinery Maraschino twine, Core'dinations card stock, vellum, Stampin Up square scallop punch, Fiskars rotary scallop cutter, Versafine black ink, Studio G aqua ink, Brillance Rocket red ink

pink teapot card

One little card, that almost got lost in the messy desk (see if you can find where's waldo on this post and find the card).  I've used a teapot for Creative Corner Tea Party challenge and the Etsy Inspired challenge (I know literal girl here is expanding her world, took the idea of a teapot and then used CR84FN's colors).  I recently bought some water color pencils to help me work on my coloring, so I'm trying to use Yvonne's Do More With Less 5 minute coloring challenge.

Materials: Studio G teapot, PTI Tiny Tags die and sentiment, Twinery blossom twine, Spellbinders Nestabilities Label 1, Cuttlebug dot embossing folder, watercolor pencils and blender pen, PTI coaster, Studio G pink ink, cream card stock

going postal

This week's Play Date Cafe is sponsored by WPlus9, so I thought no better reason then to break out my new Spring Post set.  My day has been going pretty well, but it got even better when I received the SRM stickers I won last week from Etsy Inspired!  Woo hoo.  So I went digging through this week's shop, Fresh Metal and found these earrings.  Look, it's the same color challenge as PDC!

And since I was on a postal theme I thought I'd post this second card I made for this week's Off the Wall Craftiness, I tried to CASE Nichole's card but it didn't quite work out the way I thought... but since I've used WPlus9's postmarked on here I thought I should post it.

Materials: 1st card: WPlus9 Spring Post, PTI Postmarks, Versafine black ink, paper from my stash, Fiskars scallop rotary cutter, white card stock

2nd card: PTI Postmarks, WPlus Postmarked, PTI postage die, Yellow card stock scrap, Stampin Up Kiwi Bliss card stock, Stampin Up red riding hood card stock, white card stock, Versafine black ink

thanks, times 3

It all started with a partially embossed label for this week's PTI Make It Monday challenge.  But knowing me, I get started and then I keep going...  so here's three takes on a similar idea, with a few extra challenges throw into the mix.

This card uses this week's Waltzingmouse Sketch challenge. Thank you Karen for this fabulous banner.

This passport cover is in this week's Etsy Inspired Challenge.

Isn't this week's Moxie Fab World Tuesday Trigger fabulous?  My first thought when I saw this was the PTI button die, and thankfully my dear friend Jen sent me a few just in time!  Now I've got a few more thank you cards in my stash... although I've taken the first baby steps for an etsy shop, after some super encouraging suggestions from some card buyers.  Hopefully I'll get the time to really figure things out, but I'm excited about the idea in the mean time.

Etsy Inspired thank you for you

I saw this flower pendant on Nanny's Room on this week's Etsy Inspired challenge and I thought of the Martha Stewart flowers I won from Kim.  Jenny's celebrating "Free Your Creativity" over at Wee Memories and I thought trying a stamped background would be something new and fun.  Especially when I turned it into a frame with my new Spellbinders Label 8.  I would've liked to stay truer to the colors in the pendant (because I have this literal problem), but I decided to add a blue background and focus on red and kraft (from the background).  And on a random positive note, my mom stopped by work today while I was trying to find a decent place to photograph this card and said that I can have a workspace in her house!  If you've read in some of my other posts I haven't unpacked anything, because I have no where to put it in our little 2 bedroom house.  So, yeah... for my future crafting space.

Materials: Martha Stewart flower clear stamp, PTI Fillable Frames #11 sentiment, Spellbinders Nestabilities Label 8, Versacolor Camellia, Studio G pink ink, red ribbon from stash, Stampin Up Red card stock, blue card stock from scraps, PTI kraft card stock

Etsy inspired bookmark

This week's Etsy Inspired Challenge has a great little shop called La Pomme.  I was inspired by Savannah's card.  While I don't have any musical background craft supplies, I had been playing with my new PTI Book Print Impressions plate and loved the idea of an embossed letters background.  Jenny and the gang at Wee Memories are playing with Twine this week, so let's add this bookmark to their challenge too.  Mark's Finest Papers is celebrating embossing this week, hope you guys like my bookmark, sorry it's not a card.

I have been watching some videos on You Tube to try to figure out how to use my Big Shot and my 5 year old son decided that he wanted to make a video of my project.  He has this camera so the quality is pretty poor.  But I love that he wanted to take part in my project.

Materials: Practicing Creativity The Whole Cycle Wheelbarrow, PTI Kraft, PTI bookmark die, PTI Book Print impressions plate, Versacolor Camellia ink, black ink, The Twinery Maraschino twine

Caring friends

I made this card on my crafting pit stop in Dunedin with supplies I had sent to my friend's house in advance. But when I saw this week's Etsy Inspired shop I thought that the card fit perfectly for this fabulous decoupage bottle.  I'm really ready at this stage in my road trip to have a couch... and unpacking my crafty goodies like my PTI On My Couch stamp set.  One more week to go in New Zealand!  Thinking of all my fabulous friends, crafty blogging paks, friends in NZ and friends in the US...

Materials: PTI On My Couch stamp, Hero Arts digital friendship definition, Cosmo Cricket early riser patterned paper, American Crafts ribbon, Fiskars shape cutter background, Fiskars rotary scallop cutter, black mark

Pear Thanks

This week's Wee Memories' Scrappy Saturday Challenge is "Tutti Fruitti."  I was able to raid my girlfriend's stamp collection and find this pear stamp.  Which also works great for this week's Etsy Inspired challenge Two Eggplants.  I've used her Fiskars Shape cutter to give the die cut look to the border of this card, and Giesle's generous gift of the Waltzingmouse Stamps Very Vintage Labels No. 1 die cut label.  Best wishes Jenny for your big wedding day.

Materials: Pear stamp, Waltzingmouse Stamps Very Vintage Labels No. 1, Giesle's die cut, PTI Daily Designs thanks sentiment, brown ink, Versafine black ink, art paper from Vanda's stash, black and cream card stock

Etsy Inspired birthday card

This week's Etsy Inspired Challenge is a shop called Pegasus Maiden. I loved the bold red headband shown below. And I'm feeling rather organized, I'm going to send the card to my mother-in-law, who's birthday is in 2 weeks (perfect timing if you consider the international mailing times). For once, the card will get there in time! (I'm so organized ladies that I ordered her a photobook of the grandchildren online and had it directly sent to her house and it's already en route!). I'm also going to enter this in the new Caardvarks challenge, which is CAS (my kinda style).

Materials: Stampin Up flower stamp, PTI Daily Designs sentiment, Stampin Up Red color pencil, Stampin Up blender pen, white gel pen, Versacolor black ink, black ribbon from my stash, white and black card stock, Stampin Up cream brad

Etsy Inspired Cherry Card

When I saw Virginia's card for this week's Etsy Inspired Challenge I knew what image I was going to use. I love the colors and had been given a challenge by my friend Michelle to use her stamp set that looks just like this apron.

Materials: Stampin Up cherry stamp (thanks Sylvia), Stampin Up circle stamp, Brilliance Moonshine white ink, Versacolor Camilla red ink, American Crafts red ribbon, black & white card stock, Fiskars free hand cutter

black and white coffee and donuts

This week's Etsy Inspired challenge is for the Etsy shop Glamasaurus and the shop is filled with all sorts of fun items. Being a coffee lover (365 Cards favorite things) I thought the above photo with donut cuff links looked like far too much fun. I do like donuts too, but I'm a guilt-ridden donut eater, so I thought I'd sneak in part of a donut.

Materials: Paper Salon coffee cup stamp, Hero Arts What's Perking donut stamp, Fiskars circle punch, Stampin Up circle punch, American Crafts black ribbon, cream & black card stock, black sharpie maker, Stampin Up black ink

birthday owls

I used this week's ColourQ colors, with the Taylored Expression sketch and a photo of three owls from this week's Etsy Inspired challenge. Do you think this would work for a kid's birthday card? I like the idea of balloons... so let's enter this in Party Time Tuesday, child's birthday card challenge. KAH-Wink-E-Dink challenge this week is birthdays, happy birthday guys! Wee Memories is doing "In the Forest" this week, so break out your squirrel, owl, frog stamps.

Materials: Studio G owl stamp, PTI birthday sentiment, card stock from my stash, Stampin Up black ink, Fiskars rotary scallop cutter

Etsy Inspired butterfly cards

I already made a card for this week's Etsy Inspired 100th challenge, but Cathy Walter's shop has far too many goodies, so I've made a few more cards. I also want to give credit to my various blogging pals for helping me with a few of the pieces. Gisรจle sent me an envelope full of amazing Waltzingmouse stamps, all cut out with her die cut machine. I have been thinking I should add a die cut machine to my wish list, but now I know it's an absolute must have. Open to feedback on which one to get or ideas. The background of these cards is a dandelion poem that Karen created and generously shared with me. When I saw some of the handwritten aspects of Cathy Walters shop I immediately thought of Karen's cool digital background. The butterfly stamp is compliments of my physical (in real life) card friend here, so thank you Michelle for sharing your fun new butterfly stamps with me. I love how these cards are a group effort! Jenny's Wee Memories is having a butterfly theme this week, so here's a few more lovely butterfly cards for that challenge. Simon Says Stamp and Show is doing a challenge with wings.

Materials: Rosie's Studio butterfly stamp, Karen Baker dandelion poem digital background, Waltzingmouse Stamps frames (Very Vintage Labels No.1,) Gina K Designs Lovely Label, Stampin Up watercolor pencils and blender pen, Versafine black ink, yellow and black card stock, Stampin Up corner remover punch

keep in touch owl card

This week is the Etsy Inspired 100th challenge and the super cute pendants from Cathy Walter's shop offer so much inspiration. I think this little owl is so cute. I loved the swirly background, and while I originally went searching for some green paper, I found some cool brown and blue swirly paper in my stash. Because Hero Arts is celebrating "keep in touch" this month I thought I'd have the super cute Hero Arts digital owl keep in touch with his Lawn Fawn typewriter. (I'm thinking he might have to keep in touch with the telephone from the Just My Type set too, but I haven't gotten that far yet). There are all sorts of giveaways today and several of them have asked to pass the word on. If you love Lawn Fawn, go visit Kelly Marie's blog, she's giving away the August stamp sets. Lucy's blog is giving away a lovely blog candy for reaching 500 followers. Jami is celebrating 100,000 visits, click here to see the goodies she's giving away.

Materials: Hero Arts digital Big Owl, Lawn Fawn Just My Type typewriter, Courier New font sentiment, Stampin up Black ink, patterned paper from my stash, Stampin Up Baja Breeze card stock
