Happy Birthday Jen

Happy Birthday Jen!!!  I've cooked up a sparkly treat for you and am toasting you, virtually :)  The sentiment is perfect because by the time I actually mail the card, it will be late (but at least I'm posting it on the right day, that's gotta count for something right?).  Karen and I are playing along with Karen's Carbon Copied fun, we've both used The Craft's Meow Retro Foundations and Jay Gee's Nook Challenge to wish Jen a fabulous birthday.  My card is also loosely based on the current The Craft's Meow sketch.

Materials: The Crafts Meow Retro Foundation and Star Quality, PTI Tag It Sale die, May Arts satin pleats and silk ribbons, PTI rustic white card stock, Bazzill Basics black card stock, Versafine black ink, My Favorite Things Let's Toast die, Glitter Foam

Happy Birthday Karen

Happy Birthday Karen!!!!

Jen and I decided to host our own Carbon Copy to wish Karen a happy birthday, we've both used Skipping Stones Grunge with Jay Gee's Nook current color challenge and May Arts ribbon.

Before we settled on the above combo the idea was to play along with The Craft's Meow sketch, using some of Karen's stamps, but Jen's artistic talents led her down a different path... so I'm sharing both :)  Wishing the birthday gal a fabulous day!

hello friend fall card

Dashing out the door, "hello friend", barely catching the CAS-ual Friday Fall Fun challenge, with the Craft's Meow sketch (thanks for the new stamps!).  Check out my work blog post from yesterday, I got to visit an amazing letterpress company in the area, there's even a little giveaway.

Happy Birthday, plus tag and wine label

Welcome to another 365 Cards Super Sketchy Sunday, we have a fabulous sponsor this week, Heidi Stock Design.  I've used her Digital Paper pack Flora Flourishes and printed it onto kraft card stock.   I'll admit that my first attempt at this week's sketch was another wine label, see below, but something wasn't quite working, so I left it to simmer on my craft desk and then revisited it in the morning (giving it a good trim and a few minor adjustments).  But then I decided that the wine label needed a card (see above).   Those Three Cool Chicks are still having fun with their Let's Get Trendy Now class and this one uses woodgrain in a different way then my last project.

But then my card and wine label decided that it wanted to be a whole party package.  Do you ever have  those times when your craft project takes on a life of it's own?

So I thought since I had out The Craft's Meow stamps with the fun Heidi Stock design paper I might as well play along with their sketch challenge, I just made a gift tag.

And now my birthday goodies are complete, card, cute decorated bag, bottle of wine complete with fab label.  Only thing missing?  A birthday party invitation.

If you've made it this far you deserve a prize!  And speaking of prizes, 365 Cards is giving away 3 paper packs this week from Heidi's design shop.  Come play along with us for your chance to win.  If you can't wait and want to get some fabulous goodies this week she's offering a special 40% off coupon.  Please put 365365 in at checkout, good for any item in her Etsy shop.  Please leave me a comment if you get inspired by my birthday goodies, I'd love to see what you create.  And now, go check out the other 365 Cards DT gals and see what they've created.

life is good wine label

Happy Wednesday everyone, life is good!  I've made this wine label for the last of my work promotion-- fun to come up with crafty ways to rent more rooms (especially when it's pouring rain outside).  Me, being me... I've combined a few challenges.  I had an extra one of Karen's digital The Craft's Meow flowers printed out on the Hero Arts Earth Designer paper from this project, so I used up those scraps (Moxie Fab Challenge) and part of the other sheets (stamped with the Paper Smooches hexagons for the Cards challenge).  I added the woodgrain background so I could make another project for The Craft's Meow birthday celebration challenge (use photo below for inspiration).  And then I found inspiration from Virginia's recent post about using a coffee filter and added one to this tag for another natural layer for the Moxie Fab World "Household Items" Challenge.  And for one last challenge I wanted to play along with the Lily Pad flower challenge.  And the official word on the bride's reaction to the gift bags, "guest bags looks so amazing, you really outdid yourself."  Many thanks to my blogland cheering squad and the in real life friends I recruited to help assemble.

Materials: The Craft's Meow digital flower, Paper Smooches Hexagon, SRM sticker, American Crafts buttons, Hero Arts pearls, PTI double sided banner die, PTI edgers die, Tim Holtz woodgrain embossing folder, May Arts natural string and Organic Cotton with natural Stripes ribbon, coffee filter, Tattered Angels black mist, Smooch Vanilla ice spritz, PTI kraft card stock, Hero Arts Earth Designer patterend paper, glitter pen, Versafine black ink

Truly Grateful Friend

Did you play along with the fabulous The Craft's Meow birthday celebrations?  There's still time!  I've used Karen's fabulous free digital image to create these two cards.  I've used the inspiration photo below-- flowers/natural colors.  Moxie Fab World is having a scraps challenge for the Practical Solutions Challenge and I couldn't part with any of this fabulous Hero Arts Earth Designer Paper.  I used the Hero Arts sentiment below so I could play along with their March Fabulous Flowers challenge.  Thanks for looking.

Happy St. Patrick's Day and more bags

How do you skip a St. Patrick's day blog hop for an Irish stamp company?  Since I don't really have any St. Patrick's day themed stamps, I went with the green on green look.  I've used this week's Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge with the ColourQ colors and Waltzingmouse Stamps so I could hop along with the p-a-r-t-y!  Simon Says Stamps's challenge this week is "a bit of green".

Okay and since I've jumped on board for the WMS party, I didn't want my friends at The Craft's Meow to feel left out-- as they're celebrating their 1st birthday party.  So I have made two more bags (bringing the grand total to go do down to...  49), one with the birthday challenge sketch and one with the monthly sketch. Both use the Craft's Meow Vintage Snowflakes.

Materials: WMS Big Blooms Chrysanthemums, Coredinations card stock, PTI simply chartreuse card stock, PTI Spring Moss card stock, green card stock from scraps, Verafine black ink, Versamark, My Mind's Eye rhinestones, Perfect Pearls

Bags: Custom skier stamp, The Craft's Meow Vintage Snowflakes, PTI Mat Stack 1 dies, PTI Tag It Sale die, My Favorite Things scallop die, PTI double sided banner die,  PTI snowflake impression plate, PTI kraft card stock, Twinery twine, vellum, Stampendous white embossing powder, Tattered Angels black mist, kraft bags

A couple cards and a fabulous crafty get together

Today's post is fun, because if you click here to visit Jen's blog you can see where I was to create these two cards--- Jen's house.  I'm in Seattle visiting my sister and couldn't come to town without tracking down some friends.   I had the most fabulous day (scroll down for a photo of us and the fabulous Ms. ~amy~ having lunch).  It's so nice to finally meet some of my fabulous bloggy pals, so happy to say that we had a great time together, and despite my sister's concern over me spending the whole day with someone I'd never met before, we got along famously.

This card combines The Craft's Meow sketch and the Paper Smooches SPARKS challenge (inspiration colors, although not sure where the woodgrain fits in?).

This card uses The Play Date Cafe colors.

Lunch with Jen and Amy.

And since life is hard here's a picture of me skiing today!  According to the locals it doesn't always look this amazing in Seattle (blue skies), but I'm soaking up the sunshine and loving it.

Materials: Paper Smooches Hot Concoctions, Cosmo Cricket Nantucket paper, Spellbinders circle die, recycled Starbucks holder, PTI card stock, Versafine black ink, white ink, May Arts natural twine, button

Valentine's Card: Impress border, PTI Tiny Treats, ink and embossing powder, PTI cream card stock

Butterfly Bag, tag and snowflake card

It's Friday, so why not play along with the Friends with Flair crew over at Unity.  I've decorated a kraft bag, for a white elephant party I'm going to tonight for the Unity Challenge "Gift Wrapping" and the CAS-ual Friday "Brown Paper Packages tied with String" challenge.

Next up I made a cute little tag based on the Moxie Fab World Tuesday Trigger.  I used the same HA stamp I used on yesterday's card set, just added a bit of color.

And the last card is based on The Craft's Meow sketch.  The snowflake in the sketch got incorprated in a different location, be proud literal girl over here is breaking out!

Thanks for looking, wishing you all a fabulous New Year's.
