thank you

So the latest Colour Q challenge worked so well with some various scraps I had floating around my desk (a failed attempt at one project, the pieces from another..etc).  A perfect reason why someone shouldn't clean their desk, because you never know when you just might need something?  And below is the perp work for my Thanksgiving card class tonight, thankfully my mom came over after our Cub Scout meeting and cut, scored and organized...  now I need to find the right stamps...  might be an issue if you saw the work space...

Card Supplies: PTI Modern Mats, PTI thank you die, Lawn Fawn Leaves, Practicing Creativity leaf, PTI All Booked up Impression Plate, May Arts Ribbon, Coredinations card stock, PTI rustic cream and blue card stock, PTI ink, Mat Stack die

thanks

Thanks... I'm CASEing Maile's Sutdio Calico card because when I saw the Paper Smooches "Lace" challenge I thought of my lace stamp... and her card...  I've also used this week's ColourQ colors.  My random shares for the day, click here for some fabulous photos I took yesterday while out checking out some local wineries.  And another photo I took of the local fall colors is on a virtual tour, I always love it when the numbers spike and I go, "hum, guess a few folks like my photo."  So thanks to all those virtual folks who are supporting me in their likes and shares....

let's chat

Let's chat about me sitting down to get organized for my kids Valentine's Day workshop and making a card that has nothing to do with the class... let's chat about the mess that is still sitting there from last night that perhaps need attention... let's chat about the work to dos that never made it off the list yesterday...  okay, enough chatting, time to get moving huh?  I've used this week's ColourQ colors and Retro Sketches and Simons Says Challenge is having an "Anything Goes" challenge.

love, happy valentine's day

I'm teaching a Valentine's Day card class on Wednesday at my local Ben Franklin, and I have to admit with the madness of the holidays and the extra work hours, I hadn't actually figured out what cards we were going to make this this afternoon.  (Procrastinators unite!)  So today I made this card, which uses the Retro Sketches challenge and one of the Colour Q colors (they're having a pick any one you want from 2012 challenge).  Better figure out the other two cards here pronto!

Birthday CASEd cards

Did you get a chance to hop along for the May Arts Christmas hop?  So many amazing projects, hop along for your chance to win 4 spools of ribbon.  My project post is here.

Okay, I've got 2 more cards to share from my recent card order, I was asked for these two cards, so I decided to change up the colors a bit.  The first card I used ColourQ colors and left everything else the same.  I spend the last two days buried in laundry at the motel, but today between loads I spent some time reading and absorbing this heart wrenching piece on the New York Times about the avalanche in Washington earlier this year, the included my sister and brother-in-law.  They're both okay, but are interviewed in the piece, if you have an extra 20 minutes, the article is extremely well written and thorough.

coffee and food

Hello!  I have a few projects to share, so grab a coffee and enjoy these coffee/food creations (all I'm missing in a wine label and I'd have all my favorite themes covered, oh well there's always tomorrow right?).  First up... a coffee card for the Verve Anni-VERVE-sary CAS card challenge

I also wanted to play along with the Verve Anything But a Card challenge, so I made a handy gift card holder.  I used the CR84FN colors.

Next up, I couldn't wait to get inky with the new PTI Foodie Fun set (I mean really, how could I resist??).  I used this week's ColourQ colors, although I guess my turquoise is a bit greener then it should be... I tried.

And this fabulous card I think works well for the new Young Crafters Unite Challenge, "trends", I'm loving the hexagon trend.

And lastly... the other day I shared a superhero sighting in my oh-so-messy craft room, but I had to tell you that I've got a different creature and look... the floor, the desk... and you can't see in this photo-- but the pile in front of the closet-- GONE!  Any guesses on who's he's dressed as today?  Jinny was the only one to get the right guess on Monday.

Right... well done, you made it to the end... forget coffee, I'm off to reward myself with a glass of wine.

Happy St. Patrick's Day and more bags

How do you skip a St. Patrick's day blog hop for an Irish stamp company?  Since I don't really have any St. Patrick's day themed stamps, I went with the green on green look.  I've used this week's Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge with the ColourQ colors and Waltzingmouse Stamps so I could hop along with the p-a-r-t-y!  Simon Says Stamps's challenge this week is "a bit of green".

Okay and since I've jumped on board for the WMS party, I didn't want my friends at The Craft's Meow to feel left out-- as they're celebrating their 1st birthday party.  So I have made two more bags (bringing the grand total to go do down to...  49), one with the birthday challenge sketch and one with the monthly sketch. Both use the Craft's Meow Vintage Snowflakes.

Materials: WMS Big Blooms Chrysanthemums, Coredinations card stock, PTI simply chartreuse card stock, PTI Spring Moss card stock, green card stock from scraps, Verafine black ink, Versamark, My Mind's Eye rhinestones, Perfect Pearls

Bags: Custom skier stamp, The Craft's Meow Vintage Snowflakes, PTI Mat Stack 1 dies, PTI Tag It Sale die, My Favorite Things scallop die, PTI double sided banner die,  PTI snowflake impression plate, PTI kraft card stock, Twinery twine, vellum, Stampendous white embossing powder, Tattered Angels black mist, kraft bags

Super Sunday thanks and wine label

Happy Sunday!  It's time for another 365 Cards Super Sketchy Sunday.  I used the clear blocking technique to add the background.  I was inspired by Lucy's Cards Inspiration Day #1.  And since I've added a little twine to the card I'm going to enter it in the Ribbon Carousel "Anything Goes" challenge.

Next up, another wine label!  For those of you who follow my blog you'll know that I'm a bit behind on my order to make a dozen wine labels.  Oops.

And being challenge happy girl, I've used this week's ColourQ colors and the Unity Sketch Challenge. I pulled out the 2011 KOTM  Small Things matter most and I can't believe I hadn't inked any of the stamps I used on this label...  And since last Sunday I posted about a giveaway on my work Facebook page, I'm happy to report that the giveaway is still going... if you win the gift certificate for the bottle of wine you can always give it to me, I'll send you a pretty wine label as a thank you :)

Materials: Thanks card: PTI Gracias Vases, PTI Mat Stack 4, Hero Arts inks: soft lilac, soft blossom, Versafine black ink, Tim Holtz distress inks fired brick, ripe persimmons, shabby shutters, mustard seed, PTI white card stock, Twinery charcoal twine

Wine Labels: Unity April KOTM Small Things matter most, PTI Soft stone card stock, Coredinations card stock, Smooch Cheery Ice spritz, PTI edgers die and Limitless Layers 1 3/4th inch die, Spellbinders Nestabilities Label One, Tim Holtz Distress Ink fired brick and worn lipstick, Versafine black ink, EK Success corner rounder

sing, laugh, hope

Cheers!  It's another fun sketch on 365 Cards Super Sketchy Sunday, I turned mine into a wine label (as I'm still 10 shy of my commission, so beware, more wine labels to be seen in the next week or so).  But I thought this sentiment would work well for a wine label, it could be a birthday, it could be a house warming party, it could be a pick me up?  I've used the ColourQ colors, love the classy look of B and W with a touch of red.  Wee Memories is having a new challenge I got the Hero Arts background for Christmas, love new stamps.  I hope everyone is starting their New Year's day off on the right foot.  Yesterday I mentioned that I was working on some "best of" posts on my work blog, and if you want a sneak peek into the fabulous place where I live, check out my Best of Nevada City post.  And I'm thinking there's going to be a giveaway later on our FB page... (nothing crafty, but we all like giveaways right?).

Materials: Hero Arts Leaf and Floral Background, Unknown sentiment, PTI edgers die, Spellbinders scallop circle die, My Favorite Things scallop die, Versafine black ink, Stampendous clear embossing powder, Tattered Angels black mist, PTI soft stone card stock, red card stock

Thank You card set

Is anyone else behind on their thank you notes?   You'd think that I'd have a box full of them, but I'm out of ones that I like and I keep thinking I'll have time to make individual ones for all the fabulous Christmas goodies, but the anal punctual me is having issues that my thank your are going to be "late".  I know, call me crazy.  I used the Runway Inspired photo for my source of inspiration and made a set for the Hero Arts challenge.  Love that I'm leaving both of these challenges to the last minute...  didn't I say I was punctual?  And since I've done a B&W card with one color on each card I'm going to enter these in the ColourQ challenge.

Materials: Hero Arts Stripes and Frame stamp and embossing folder, Hero Arts Written Thank You sentiment, Twinery twine, Coredinations card stock, PTI Soft Stone card stock, Versafine black ink, EK Success corner rounder

count my blessing wine tag

I owed my husband a bottle of wine because we made a bet and I lost.  I've used this week's ColourQ colors (although sorry gals I used kraft instead of white, please forgive me).  Off to work I go, sorry to post and run.  Simon Says Stamps is having a tag challenge this week and I think I might have to play along more then once....

Materials: Unity sentiment, Tim Holtz leaf die, Core'dinations card stock, PTI kraft and chocolate chip card stock, PTI edgers die, Versafine black ink, Stampendous clear embossing powder, Tattered Angels black mist, EK success corner rounder

Book Plate Cards

I had to get a number of cards done for one of my favorite card buyers, and since she was in town to join me on a fabulous fall walk event my deadline was this morning.  I've made a number of these cute book plate cards before (click here, here) and she liked them so much she wanted a set.  So I used a few different color challenges to help inspire me to make up a number of them.  I let her choose the sentiments, which was a fun little was to personalize the cards.

These ones use the Play Date Cafe colors, happy 2nd anniversary guys!  Since I missed last week's PDC (eek, how can that be!) I decided to make up for it this week, this being my 2nd entry.

These two use this week's ColourQ (oops, missed the deadline) and Color Throwdown colors.  Love the idea of taking Halloween colors and making non Halloween cards.

And this one is for the Embellish challenge, I hid a button under the sentiment. And since I colored in all the vases I'm going to add this to the CAS-ual Fridays "Just add color" challenge.  And since Wee Memories is having a "Free for all" challenge this week I'll add this to their challenge too.

Materials: PTI All Booked Up,  PTI Mat Stack 3 & 4, PTI Book Print Impression plate, Core'dinations cardstock, PTI chocolate chip card stock, black card stock, water color paper, water color pencils, EK Success 1 3/4th inch circle punch, PTI Mat Stack 3 die, Tim Holtz Distress stain antique linen, Versafine black ink
