birthday cheer

I've got a few fun birthday themed goodies for you today, it's birthday season in our house and I've got a couple of cards with that theme in mind.  The first one, check out my use of PTI Rasberry Fizz,  be proud.  I wanted to play along with Paper Smooches Sparks Challenge, just think birthday and a stand?  I know I went from cupcakes to birthday cake, but it works right?  Plus the new Moxie Fab World "Stamp It Birthday Card" challenge, what's better then a multi-layer cake with a bit of sparkle?

Next up, not so sure about this one... but I tried to use this week's Play Date Cafe colors with the Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge, oh well, I'll stick it in the shoe box of cards and I'm sure it'll find a use, even if I don't love the card.

And since this is a birthday themed post, I couldn't miss out on the drink themed sketch over at Skipping Stones this week.  (Sorry my SSD sentiment didn't fit, bit in theory it says "Happy Birthday" on the inside, reality isn't quite there yet, but...).

And this the project I should be working on... gift bags for the birthday party this afternoon....

Artful Delight Wine Ensemble

Happy Wednesday!  I've had so much fun with the June Artful Delight goodies, so I thought I'd finish off the month with a toast to all of you fabulous crafty pals.  You guys must think I drink a lot of wine for all the wine labels and wine themed projects I make...  cough cough, no comment.

I love CAS cards, they just make me happy.  This one uses the Paper Smooches Geo-Graphic stamp, and Basic Grey PB&J paper from the kit.  I also used My Favorite Things wine die and PTI dies (but those are included in the kit, sorry ladies).

Next up...  no stealing my wine glass!  I made another wine glass label the other week from the kit (click here) but this one I pulled out the PTI Tiny Tags die and die cut a bunch of mini tags from the scraps from the Artful Delight June kit.  Added an "e" die cut from the Simple Stories pad, tied it with some twine from the kit, and presto, my glass, it's got my name on it.

And since I can't do a wine themed post without a label now can I?  I've got a bunch of fun goodies from the kit on this label, the Paper Smooches Geo-Graphic, Basic Gray PB&J paper, Simple Stories Summer Fresh paper, twine, Bazzil card stock.  I added a couple of dies, a SRM sticker and a doily (from the March kit).  And if you want to see more of the bottle of wine, click here for a tour I did last year to a few farms, including the winery.

enjoy every moment

Happy Monday!  I've been trying to find time to schedule this post all morning... time keeps on going.  So, it's another PTI blog hop and I love seeing all the amazing creations folks come up with.  This month the challenge is to use the photo below for inspiration.  So, yellow isn't my go to color and after trying to find the right ribbon in my hearty stash, I didn't find something that worked for pleats or ruffles... so, despite my very literal perspective, I opted to make a CAS card with the Tim Holtz Distress Ink Peacock Feathers, which I know isn't quite the right color, but...  So then I decided to make a tag to go with the card and added some yellow ribbon, to calm my literal voice who was telling me that I missed multiple aspects of the photo.  Simon Says Stamp Challenge is having an "anything but a card" challenge, so the tag works well for that challenge.

And while I was trying to find inspiration for the PTI hop I opted for the "procrastination crafting" technique, where you make a card you're inspired to and hope that helps with the project you're suppose to be working on.  I wanted to play along with the Embellish Telephone Challenge and since I've used mostly PTI goodies, I figured I'd post it today too.

Materials: PTI Pretty Peonies, PTI In Bloom, PTI Pretty Peonies die, PTI rustic white card stock, Tim Holtz distress ink peacock feathers, Versafine black ink

Tag: PTI Tag It Sale, PTI Pretty Peonies frame, flower and die, yellow ribbon, Tim Holtz Distress ink peacock feathers, kraft bag

Telephone card: PTI Heart-2-Heart #4, PTI chevron die, Twinery charcoal tine, Spellbinders Nestabilities, Versafine black ink, PTI rustic white card stock, various card stock scraps

hello happy camper

Hello happy camper!  My boys are back!  They've just spent the last 3 weeks on a road trip with our vintage camping trailer and they're finally home, I missed them so!  When I saw this week's One Layer Wednesday challenge "In the Kitchen" I knew exactly what I should use, my fun happy camper coffee mug.  (You can see some photos of the mug in use in a guest blog post I wrote here).  Because my Unity trailer was the perfect fit I'm going to play along with Friends with Flair.  TGIF!

Artful Delight Picnic

Bring on summer!  It's hot in California.  Today is my day to share some of the fun projects I've made with the June Artful Delight card kit for the Artful Delight blog.  It all started with a muffin holder... and then I made a lemonade label (see I can do something other then wine labels!) and then I tried to figure out how to tie them together and I decided to make a picnic.  So I decorated a reycled kraft bag and made up a little lunch box note.  Now all I need is a day off to go out and play.

This mini lunch box note is small, I used the dimension of the PTI die and made it using a the limitless layers dies and a partial die cut for the tab.  Super easy!

This muffin holder is from this template and all the rest of the goodies from the June kit.  And below is a photo of where I'd take my picnic if I could find some time...  Gotta love the South Yuba river just out my back door.

round and 16

Cheers!  It's hot in California and a nice cold lemonade sounds delish... (but based on the way my day has gone, I've gone for a large glass of red wine instead).  365 Cards is kicking off a fun week with DRS Designs and I've got the first card, challenge theme is "round".  Interpret how you wish, come play along with us for a chance to win a $10 gift certificate to their shop.  I've used the interlocking circle background to set the tone on this fun card.

And this card... remember a couple weeks back when I said I needed a teen birthday card for my neighbor, well she didn't like this one.  So when I saw Angeline's card on Jay Gee's Nook I decided to CASE it and then add a few of the colors from the current challenge.  Hope she likes this one, the birthday boy is turning 16 on Wendesday.

Hope everyone else started off their week on the right foot.  I had a busy weekend in my little town, a soapbox derby then a big bike race!

Materials: Lawn Fawn Swim Suit Season, PTI Daily Designs, DRS Interlocking Circle, PTI kraft card stock, Versafine black ink, watercolor pencil, Glossy Accents, EK Success 1 3/4th inch circle punch

16 card: Skipping Stones Designs Grunge, PTI Tag It Sale, By The Numbers, Limitless Layers 2 1/2 inch circle dies, PTI white card stock, Cordeinatios card stock, black and grey scraps

follow your dream!

Today's card is for this week's Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge.  I decided to break down and buy the Half Pint Heroines, as Ben and I have had a lot of fun with Half Pint Heroes and if I don't have little girls in the house, I might as well have some cute little girl stamps?  The tag is left over from this card and I stamped and cut out the clouds from a scrap from this project, if you look closely you'll see the text in the clouds talks about dreams.

Artful Delight CAS cards

Three CAS cards today for my Artful Delight DT post.  So many great goodies, I couldn't stop.  Come play along with us, there's still time to win next month's kit.

And the winner of my Paper Smooches Geo-Graphic is Rose.
